What bank to open a savings account?

i have my payroll account sa BDO. Do you think it is practical to open my savings account in BDO or in BPI? I plan to open one para pang extra income lang sa salary ko.

Pag kasi BDO which is a Peso Savings Account, ang baba ng interest if ang minimum maintaining balance is 5k (about .5% per annum) unlike sa BPI na 1.125% per annum for a minimum balance of 5k (BPI Direct Savings Bank)

Ang problem ko naman kapag BPI ang pipiliin ko is hassle maglipat ng funds. I need to encash it in BDO then deposit it in BPI para walang extra charges. Unlike if Peso Savings Account ng BDO, I can transfer online and free.

Do you think what should I choose? Thanks

kung saan ka happy kasi

kung convenience, BDO open sa mall up to 7pm, madaming branches sa bawat sulok ng metro.

kung bpi, just set a specific date kung kelan mo iwiwithdraw at kelan mo dedeposit. example once a month. or kung malapit ka naman diba lage sa atm ng bdo, you can withdraw anytime and deposit to bpi anytime.

go for higher interest if you want higher income. go for bdo for convenience

for me kahit ano sa top 5 banks or even their family savings bank subsidiary UNLESS meron kang milyon milyon, yun ang may dating ang kung saan ka mag oopen ng account? why, kasi yung interest magkano ba yun kung barya barya lang naman ang pera mo.

Ang magkaiba lang naman sakanila is P100 sa globe bank at P200 sa bpi easy savers sa pag-open ng account, maintaining balance to earn interest at yung fees kapag mag-deposit.

Ano ba mas okey if ikaw pipili? tia.

Balak kong mag - open ng savings account sa BPI. yung BPI Direct Express Teller Savings sana kaso ito problema ko, isa lang yung valid ID ko (Voter's ID) tapos yung address ko pa dun sa voter's ID ko iba dun sa ipe-present ko na proof of billing. pwede parin ba akong makapag open? BPI Direct maxi Saver if savings, may bonus 1% interest pa if hindi mo gagalawin pera mo in a month. Lahat ng accounts ko nasa BPI so far wala naman ako problem, and I find expressonline nila very convenient, especially sa investment accounts ko.

if your reason to save is because of high interest,
try to compute what will you get in one year, net of tax.

I recently opened an ATM account at MetroBank despite knowing na that bank sucks in terms of depositing/withdrawing money or bills payment (sobra haba linya) ang ATM machines are offline a lot.

Ang habol ko lang naman na feature is yung Metrobank direct. Kasi i plan to join FAMI. It would be easier to buy shares.

Does anybody know how long will it take before the bank automatically close or "purge" the account because of failure to meet the maintaining balance? Say, I had withdrawn all the money in my atm savings account and I have not deposited for more than two months, will my account automatically close? I think this is different with a dormant account which has 2years period as there is really no money left in my bank account.

same thing happened to me. I wonder if I can still reactivate my Easy Savers Account after it reaches zero balance...

I don't like BDO because of the very long queue tapos walang upuan!

Ako din Like ko BPI and Dahil may GOLD ATM (Deposits only) sa piling branches I don't really need to transact sa teller and I hate falling in line! within 1-2mins tapos na ako mag deposit kung sa GOLD ATM Machines...

But yeah I tried the Express Assistant and it really rocks! Walang singet sa line kasi by numbering...

BPI - pinakamaraming ATM machines in the country? Saka yung account number mo can be found in the ATM itself so that's a plus. Ok naman yung pila. Minsan mahaba pero mabilis naman.

BDO - extended operating hours. (Most branches close at 3pm while BDO 7PM sa ibang branch) Madami din ATM machines kaya lang i find it annoying na yung account number can't be found sa ATM card.

If you're looking for s higher interest regular savings account try Security Bank's Build up savings 1.75 p.a. ang interest, plus of course subject to 20% tax, siyempre maliit pa din, but definitely better than .25 or .5%. You are limited to 3 widrawals in 3 months, if you exceed your limit balik siya s .25% for that current cut off of 3 mos. This is best for emergency funds na naka park lang s savings account, mas may konting kita at the end of the year. Meron din passbook at ATM. Hope this helps.
