    SALAMAT!
Try to research "GOS" Generic Object Services. If this is applicable.

    hi Sir Lance Edward,

I am a computer science graduate way back 1999, though after graduation hindi po kasi IT line of work ako napunta, it is more of supply chain operations, particularly in supply planning. I have been expose in different manufacturing industries from from different MNC pero as supply planning supervisor. i was able to be exposed sa oracle at SAP (planning module).

it was only at this moment that i realized to go back and explore my degree course. am i already late po ba? interested po ako sana sa SAP eh. willing po ako mag start as entry level possible pa po kaya? at more than willing po ako na i train at mag back to zero po, basta po matutunan ko lang yun basic requirement and from them pagsisikapan ko po na umangat ulit.

Good luck!

Ang daming tools to migrate data from 3rd party and manual copy paste is probably one of the worst option except siguro kung 10 rows lang migrate nila

On a purely semantic POV, abap is one of the easiest. Napakadali lang ng syntax. The problem is very wide ang SAP. Sometimes you need to know functional and most learn by experience

Abap itself is really big and even people with more than 10 years experience havent really mastered ABAP kasi it grows bigger and bigger with newer technologies. If you stop learning, you would be behind.

To be really competitive dapat very diverse yung experience mo

Hindi rin! Hahah java is somewhat easier kasi it's uniform in all aspects. Abap is not. Abap is really wide spectrum of different technologies tapos you have seemingly infinite number of options that are not really documented in any "abap bible of sorts". Kung abap report lang vs java, of course. Pero it's not limited to that

Pano yung WDP, adobe interactive forms? What i mean is abap is ever changing and they dont have a strict standard (though oop yung de facto standard for the newer developments)

So yes in semantics it is easier pero in actual development i wouldnt really say so. But thats just me baka iba lang ang absorption ko sa both. Sa akin kasi as long as the semantics is standard, it's easier

Any Good-Better-Best Companies which offers great training for fresh grad as a SAP consultant?

Any Book/Website that you know can help when learning SAP from scratch?

    Any other advice?

I agree 101%... ABAP technology is constantly changing... ABAP WebDynpro with Rich Island is a good example .

Attaching 4 character file extension to GOS problem in ABAP

    Hello pinoy ABAPERS!
I'm having a problem in attaching 4 character file extension to GOS using an ABAP, 3 character file extension works fine.

The evil geniuses from the Microsoft’s Department of Screw-You-All decided to mess with the file extensions: familiar ‘doc’ for some reason has become ‘docx’ and ‘xls’ – ‘xlsx’. And while the above mentioned file name expansion in Windows 95 at least had some benefits for the users, this one is just an act of pure evil, if you ask me. Is there a single person in the whole world who is not employed by Microsoft and cares for these new extensions? I honestly doubt that. But noooo, they just had to do this… What is wrong with these people?

Oh well, the sad reality is that now even ABAP developers have to deal with this somehow. It looks like even the SAP masterminds did not expect such audacious move by Microsoft (check and mate!), because all the function modules that are somehow involved with the file manipulations (including SO_OBJECT_INSERT, which I used in my previous GOS-related post) have allocated only 3 characters for the variable to hold the file extension.

So far I have been unable to get it to work absolutely correctly with the Word 2007 files. The files do open, but Word keeps complaining that they’re corrupt and wants to “recover” them. If you click “Yes’ to recover, the file will open just fine, but this is very confusing and annoying to the users.
    PLEASE HELP!

nope.. SAP is an example of ERP system..

Career shifter ako and sana may mahanap akong company na willing mag train kahit may bond.

Sad to say sap hasnt provided a real solution for this one so far but there are some workarounds to the problem. Exactly the same problem with email attachment from SAP. Though there are already a number of discussions in sap forums sharing the same problem and some have workaround of sorts

There's a whole lot of comparison how sap became popular but more importantly, sap hleads the market with 25% market share in erp. The next leading erp, oracle, has 16% then sage with 6%. If you own a quarter of the market, bet that you must be really popular. Now, if you are asking how they got there in the first place, mahaba habang usapan yan. Malaki ang sahod ng sap consultant because of supply and demand especially 4-5 years back. Remember 25% market tapos hindi ganon kalakihan ang supply ng skilled sap consultant, it would force the salary/price of consultants up. Pero for some ingat lang sa expectation. For some medyo overrated ang expectation tulad ng mga naririnig ko sa mga iba

    Hello Sir Lance Edward,

Tapos nag response po sa akin yung Kaisa... sa qc po sila di ba... they are inviting me for interview and exam po eh.

familiar po ba kayo sa Kaisa? are they headhunter po ba? kasi naguluhan ako sa profile nun company sa net eh.. nakalagay they offer training, pero i hire ka nila.. pero sa ad nila nakalagay "our client is a leading FMCG company". Naisip ko tuloy aka headhunter sila...

sensya na po... hope to hear more from you Sir.

    salamat po

Kaisa is a consulting company itself. Kaisa will hire you and send you to training. Normal lang na may bond kasi the training itself is worth hundreds of thousands of pesos pag nag enroll ka. Pero wag ka mag focus sa bond, focus on the experience na makukuha mo. Their client is an FMCG kasi they do implementation/supports projects for different companies. Good luck! ; )

Hi po. I need a little help lang.

I'm a fresh grad and got recently hired. Ang problema ay wala talaga akong background dito sa SAP and I'm having a hard time.

Nung first 3 days ng training ang pinag-aralan namin is order to cash cycle.

Maraming online tutorial and ebooks na nagkalat about SAP. I hate to say this but please try to use Google first to look for what you need. Here is a link to SAP Help ng SD http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp...9/frameset.htm Yan na ang bible mo simula ngayon. Good luck. Welcome to the club
