Mine are BPI Blue and Classic Cards.

I just emailed bpiexpressonline Wednesday last week regarding my request to reverse the annual fee for both cards. I got a reply on the next day stating that my request was approved and was being processed already. I just checked my bpiexpressonline today and I've noted that the annual fee reversal is already posted.

This is the reason why I love my BPI credit cards.

    Citibank or bpi?
hsbc. ive only had this credit card for a year pa lang. the agent said they can grant me the reversal because i was in good credit standing, and i pay my bills in full and on time. and siguro i spend so much on my credit card monthly na it's above their minimum required for it to be reversed

    ako rin may kwento...

I have 2 cards with Citibank - one was a Silver MC which i have from way back 2004 and the other one was a Premier miles gold card which i only had last year.

Yun MC ko pinawaive ko na yun last year. I remember they just checked how much was my annual spending and then ayun inapprove na nila yun request ko to waive it. Since nagkaron ako nung Premier Miles, yun ang mas ginagamit ko. Never ko nagamit ulit yun MC ko, as in never talaga.

Last March, anniversary na nung parehong cards ko and then I called up Citibank to ask if my Premier Miles card can be waived tapos pinacut ko na yun MC kasi nga hindi ko naman nagagamit na.

Wow! Tinanong ko kung bakit nya iwwaive e hindi ko naman totally nagamit yun then sabi nya hindi lang naman daw yun annual spending yun chinecheck nila pati din daw yun length ng relationship nila with the customer at since matagal na yun credit card ko with them at in good standing naman daw ako kaya pwede niya iwaive.

kaya ayun, nacut yun premier ko but yun MC ko nawaive ulit ang annual fee at nadagdagan pa yun credit limit.

    ayan ang kwento ko.

Panalo This really comes to show that it is the "debtor's" market- if that is the appropriate term for this. If you are in real good standing- ikaw ang hahabulin at iwave lahat ng annual mag stay ka lang sa kanila. Its an eye opener for all of us with cards.

the rebate is the same whether for shell visa or shell mastercard.

once your mastercard expires, citibank will automatically send you a shell visa.

Thanks Altwegg, and since you're here na I hope you don't mind that I ask a couple more questions. Bago lang yung Citi Cash Back card ko and I have the slightest idea how the rebate works.

ON-TOPIC: Madali ba na-grant yung request mo for annual fee reversal? Do you think your annual fee was reversed because you're a heavy-user?

    TIA!

Citibank Philippines no longer offers the Cash Back card to new card holders.

That's the only information I got.

Even if you are a transactor, you still get cash rebates. However, the rebates are bigger if you are a revolver, me thinks, and this is based on the table provided for at the back of the statement.

I always pay the whole amount and the average cash rebate I get monthly is around P110-P120.

As far as fee reversal is concerned, I'd like to think the bank grants my request because of my outstanding relationship with them, but, I do admit I'm a heavy user. Whenever I call for an annual fee reversal, the agent tells me he'll grant it because I have met their minimum balance per year (which is roughly over P120,000 yata?)

    Sorry for the delayed reply.

Citi Choice? Meron na sa Pinas? Sa ibang bansa no annual fee for life yan as long as naka-two swipes (any amount) ka every month, otherwise mag-pay ka ng monthly fee.

Thank you for clarifying that, Altwegg.

Sabi ng kilala kong insider sa telemarketing but I think she meant hindi na pino-promote as much as before. Kaya siguro sa Citibank Philippines website, when you click the link for Cash Back you get redirected to the Silver Visa/Mastercard.

Yeah, that's how its supposed to work for Citibank Malaysia customers. I wonder how the wise men at Citibank Philippines will package this credit card product.

Baka ito yung sinasabi ng Citi last year na pinaplano nilang "customized interest rates" (lower for good payers than for delinquent payers)? Nah! Malabo pa yata yun.

  17. #77
I read here that if may co- branding sa citibank hindi mabibigyan ng reversal (ex. Citibank Shell Visa) so what is the remedy? Ipapa close na lang talaga ang card? No other options?

^^Me too, Citibank Shell Visa ang cc ko. I just called earlier sa hotline nila to ask for a waiver and sad to say wala talagang outright waiver sa mga co-branded cc's nila. Badtrip nga eh lugi ako kasi ni hindi pa nga umabot ng 1.8k yung rebate na nakuha ko sa pag-papagas then kukuhanan nila ako ng 1.8k for membership fee! But I can't cancel my card right now kasi may PayLite installment pa ako and may charge din na P300 pag pinacancel ko na ngayon.

Any suggestions? Good creditor naman ako, I always pay in full amount.
