Tips On Getting Annual Fee Reversal

Can you please give a list of credit card companies who give reversal of annual fees. Is there a way to do it? Please advice thanks a lot!

I think it was covered on previous credit card threads but nonetheless to answer your question, Ive had citibank visa for 3 years and never paid annual fee. Basic reason: I always pay in full every due date.

I think they consider it also if you purchase atleast 120K/annum.

Citibank's case is different. I say chambahan.

In my case I always pay in full and I have an average 210k per annum on that card alone. Reversal of annual fee ba kamo? Twice ko pa lang nagagawa and card ko na sya since 2002 or was it 2001? Laging pinapa deduct sa points ko.

Hindi ko naman matanggal tanggal dahil halos lahat ng bills sa bahay doon naka charge.

How to reverse your credit card's annual fee
    1. Request for a waiver of your credit card’s annual fee. Some banks are kind enough to grant the waiver outright.
    2. If #1 fails, threaten to cancel the credit card.
    3. After #2, CSRs of credit card companies would offer “x-deals” just to keep you from cancelling your account. Here are some of them:
    * Charge a total of Php3000 on your card and the annual fee will be waived.
    * Give up the points you earned from the card and the annual fee is waived.
    * This is my favorite -> Join the text alerts service and the annual fee is waived. Walang kahirap-hirap. LOL

Ang boss ko nga citibank and he charges a lot and pays on time kaso hindi daw siya mabigyan bigyan ng reversal. Yung pag cancell ng card - is it really a sure fire way to get a reversal - pano kung i call ang pananakot mo?

  6. #6
^e di cancelled yung card. I have 9 other cards anyway. Of all my cards, once pa lang ako napabayad ng annual fee. All others are either waived, or I was able to negotiate a reversal of the annual fee.

how about sa bdo? do they also allow reversal of annual fees? anyone had that experience yet?

I just found out that I was charged today with an annual fee for my Citibank Visa Gold credit card - PHP2,500!!!

I just called the hotline and told them that I have a BPI Gold and HSBC Gold so that is the reason why I have not used the card na ever since. The CSR still insisted that they could not waive it.... pero when I requested for cancellation - she placed the call on hold. After a minute, she offered me with three options. I just chose Citi Alerts and my annual fee is waived!!! Wohooo!!!

As for me, I pay my credit card bills on-time or advanced and I pay in full. Everytime I see annual fees in my statement and ask for reversal, and they grant my reversal. If not, I'll cancel my credit card with them. If they will deduct my points in exchange for reversal, i still demand for cancellation of my card. Laking sisi nila pag kinancel nila ako (lol). They waive my annual fee and my points were not deducted as well. If you pay your bills on time and full payment, you have all the rights to demand for waiver of annual fee, because everytime you use your credit card with them, they already earning 6-7% from the merchants you bought an item with. They earn a lot, but too many people are not paying them on time or basically don't have any intentions to pay at all....

I think deducting points to get a reversal fee is nothing. That is always an option. Meaning you can get GC's or reversal fees with your points. Parang lokohan naman yata yon. Dapat pag nireverse walang kapalit na points whatsoever. According to my boss sa citibank daw kahit ang laki ng bills niya and good payer - barat daw at never pa daw siya na reverse. I think CC companies like Revolvers more than those who pay in full. Kasi mas malaki ang kinikita nila - that is 3.5% of the OB.

sa bdo di maganda experience ko...I always pay on time pero they refuse to reverse my P75 monthly membership fee! kasi daw pang masa yung shopmore card ko at mababa na daw yung fee...pinacancel ko nga...pumayag naman! hmp... now I am happy with my BPI card!

I read somewhere that it would cost them a lot to loose a good credit card holder than get a new one, since they already have a track record of your account. So does this mean that, reversal will be easier now?

nagparequest ako last week ng reversal ng annual fee ko sa Citibank and guess what? request granted!

Frosh can you please tell us pano ka nabigyan ng reversal kasi yung bossing ko gold na yon ayaw pa din e? What are the specifics - baka naman milyon milyon na ang points mo kaya ganoon.

as I said in my previous post CITI's case is chambahan. Why? Here's why:

1.) Lahat ng bills sa bahay naka sakay sa CITI ko.

    a. Meralco average 6k a month
    b. Water average 700 a month
    c. PLDT approximately 1700 a month
    d. Cable Subscription 450php

2.) Eto din ang grocery card ko which is at least 14-15k a month.

Chambahan pag CITI wala talagang formula. It's either i-reverse nila or ibawas nila sa points mo.

Nagpareverse ako sa BDO credit card ko. When asked for my reason why i want to reverse the annual fee, sagot ko "Sayang yung Pera." ayon reversal granted.

Ako na reverse ang annual fee for my BPI Express Credit Gold MasterCard
