I can't install anything or open a public folder in our network (n my PC at work) because of admin rights. Aside from talking to our IT people on how will I disable that admin rights, is there a software or application that I can use to disable it? thanks!

hello there again, every time i turn on my laptop, this appears:
SMART Failure Predicted on Hard Disk 0: WDC WD600BEVS-22LAT0 - (S1)
WARNING: Immediately back-up your data and replace your hard disk drive. A failure may be imminent.

Pasensya na, i'm clueless in computers. What does the above message mean? Should I really replace my hard disk drive? Around how much kaya yun?

    Hello there.

I'm planning to upgrade my PC, hopefully that I'll be able to play WoW but I'm not sure what to upgrade and if it would be compatible.

    Hi DPS.ph!

    Thanks for the inquiry!

Neo laptops are usually reliable naman. This could be an isolated case. 2 Hour-something battery life is common sa 3 cell batteries but if his laptop battery has 6 cells, that's not normal. Plus, he can't get full charge pa.

Since the laptops is new, he should consider asking for a battery replacement or better yet, a full laptop check-up from Neo. Neo support is good naman.

    Hi Chanted_words!

    Thanks for the inquiry!

Like what I suggested in my previous post, try jacking up your RAM -- yours up to 2gb. Just to reduce lag. But let me remind you, even at 2gb, with Vista, laptop performance could still be choppy.

Then you can try checking with Acer if your laptop has discrete graphics upgrade support. If it has, choose a relatively powerful one from NVIDIA. NVIDIA makes the best discrete video cards in the planet today.

    There you go.

    Hi Kitty88!

SMART Failure Predicted on Hard Disk

Believe it the first time you read it. It's your computer's way of telling you that something is not right -- specifically with your HDD. And sooner or later, it will just die.

    What do you:
    1. Back up your data.
    2. Consider buying a new HDD.
    3. Prepare OS installation CD and your laptop device drivers CD.

Don't worry kitty88, HDD's are very cheap lang naman. Medyo hassle lang talaga, yung process of introducing your new HDD sa laptop-- because you'd have reinstall the OS, all drivers and programs that you'll be needing.

There are shops in Gilmore that sell dirt cheap HDD's. Yung iba pa, you could even ask to install the HDD for you (but you'd have to install OS yourself or ask help from a professional).

I hope you find this helpful.

All of which are Consumer Notebooks (or 'Budget' Notebooks, if you wanna put it that way) except for one, the Dell Vostro A840, which is a Business Notebook.

As a Thinkpad fan, I tend to think that Notebook Companies tend to make better Business Notebooks than Consumer ones. Mas mahal kasi talaga ang Business Notebooks because these companies place the fastest and greatest parts in these machines.

And as such, I'd recommend the Vostro. (but that's just me) At 29k, steal na yan. Plus I think Dell support is getting better here na in the Philippines, since they've just opened their office dito.

Lenovo G410 follows the Dell Vostro closely -- but that's only because Lenovo makes the Legendary Thinkpads and upon touching G410 I felt that it incorporates some of the great Thinkpad features albeit shards of it lang.

After Lenovo, I'd recommend the Asus. Because Asus is good at hardward. Did you know that Apple commissions Asus to make iMac hardware?

    There you go.

Pero don't take my word for it ha, ask around parin.

    -
And no, Dell Vostro, is not a UMPC. It is the farthest from it.

A UMPC or UltraMobile Personal Computer is a category for all notebooks that weigh under 4 lbs. Different pa yan from a Netbook -- which is a low-power, low-cost UMPC.

    Thanks for the question javazcript!
I hope you find my answer helpful.

i was able to pair another bluetooth device to my computer, so i guess its safe to say that the problem lies in my "samsung phone connecting to the computer", ill try to look for answers in that direction first before asking again

    thanks

    Hi Ilikedressingup!

Think about it first, what do you really need, a laptop or a netbook?

Keep in mind that netbooks are low-powered talaga and you can't really do much with them. Surf and type lang halos.

But then, if you're fine with netbook:
Sakto, I was just watching a video in Youtube comparing AAO, MSIWind, HPMnote, Asus eeepc 1000H.

If you want, check it out rin:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CuxV-jsrk8

I can't top that comparative review.

I'd personally recommend Acer Aspire One -- only because I havent heard a bad review about it from any of my friends owning one.

Plus, the stripped down 8gb ssd version of AAO now sells for just Php11,900 at PcCorner. Limited stocks only.

MSI wind has also won a slew of awards recently. So I'd also recommend that.

But I suggest you go to the shop talaga to try these machines. Iba parin talaga kung hawak mo na sila and you see them side by side.

    Thanks for the inquiry!
Keep us posted kung anong decision mo ha.

    Hi Angmasasabiko!

    Try PcCorner.

The last time I went to their shop they have TZ and SZ. Hindi ko nacheck if they have CR -- The great thing about this shop is that they give low going prices. A lot lower than in malls.

    Try ringing them at 723-1718.

    Thanks for the inquiry!
