Fanboyism lang yan. Hindi naman automatic na kapag Star Cinema, maganda na. Last couple of films from Star were trash and forgettable. Unofficially Yours is the only notable film this year. EDITED: THe Healing was exceptional. Forgot that.

I would say the same for GMA Films, though. Only films that have merit are The Road and Kontrabida Girl.

GMA just doesnt have the talent. if you are talented why work for GMA, you work for SC or VIVA right?

speaking for the public, if a person has money and time for 1 movie they will choose the brands of SC o Viva over GMA for their movie experience. yes, SC has had some flops, but most of the time SC delivers as does VIVA.

The public knows that and GMA Films will always struggle.

EXACTLY TODAY, nasa siyam na araw nang ipinalalabas sa mga sinehan ang Just One Semplang. Ewan kung nag-improve ang audience turnout nito for its producer to laugh its way to the bank.

Isang katrabaho namin ang sinubukang manood ng naturang “off-season” na pelikulang ito, he stormed into Gateway at the Araneta Center on its first day of showing. First screening ‘yon, pero bantulot siyang pumila para bumili ng ticket.

Curious, he inquired with the takilyera kung ilan na ang bilang ng mga tao sa loob ng sinagot, to which ang isinagot nito sa kanya ay, “Sir, kung papasok po kayo, bale pangwalo po kayo. Pero don’t worry po, dahil kapag hindi umabot sa sampu ang tao sa loob, ire-refund po namin ang ibinayad n’yo.”

Kunsabagay, the mall policy is simply valid. Kulang pang pambayad sa aircon ang ibinayad ng wawalong ulo na pumasok sa sinehan. “Babalik na lang ako,” sey naman ng aming co-worker, who chose to watch the movie Step Up sa ka-tabing sinehan.

Two hours later, bumalik ang aming katrabaho sa pinagpapalabasan ng Just One Semplang who approached the same takilyera with the same inquiry: pang-ilan daw ba siya kung manonood ng naturang pelikula? “Sir,” magalang pa ring panimula ng babaeng tagatanggap ng mga biniling ticket, “bale pang-14 po kayo. Puwede na pong simulan ang movie kasi lampas na po ng sampu.”

Nang kumustahin namin sa aming fellow worker what he thought about the movie, sey nito, “Walang bago, hindi nga ako kinilig, eh!”

No wonder, it bombed at the tills… boom!

TAMA ang litanya ng isang direktor na taga-GMA 7 mismo na kapag ipinalabas na raw ang Just One Summer ay hindi raw ito kikita.

Napanood ng pamangkin namin ang nasabing pelikula at ayon sa kanya, walo lang daw sila na nasa loob ng sinehan. So, isang malaking flop ang JOS.

Ewan ba namin kasi rito sa GMA 7 Films at binigyan na agad nila ng launching movie ang loveteam nina Julie Anne San Jose at Elmo Magalona gayung hindi pa naman sikat ang dalawa.

Hindi pa sila hinog para magkaroon ng solo movie. Hindi kaya nagsisisi na ngayon ang GMA 7 sa pagsugal nila sa loveteam nina Julie at Elmo?

i think there is a truth to this...

naging mind-set na to ng mga tao na pag Star Cinema... kahit hindi kagandahan... panonoorin pa din... tapos pag GMA... since super dami ng flop na movie... kahit anu nang gawin nila... kahit super quality na... hindi na sila makarecover... kaya siguro minsan sinasabay na nila sa Star Cinema *** showing day para magkaroon ng sense of competition... pero unfortunately, wala pa din eh (e.g My Kontrabida Girl vs. Corazon... and Just One SUmmer vs. The Reunion)

but nope... rerally... ang dami kong pinanood na movie ng GMA on free TV... wala pa din eh... except to some few... like the Road and the echo... pero the rest... wala pa din... sablay..

sa star cinema kasi... kahit ulit ulitin sa free TV... pinapanood ko pa din... especially One More Chance, Here Comes The Bride, A Very Special Love, Tanging Ina Mo Series, atbp...

JuliElmo’s movie, “Just One Summer”, a flop?

“Just One Summer”, the supposedly much-awaited movie of this year, has turned out to be a flop.

Just One Summer, released on August 15, stars one of the most popular Kapuso love teams, Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo Magalona (popularly known as “JuliElmo”). Fans of JuliElmo have been anticipating this movie since the the news about it was first revealed to the public. Also, it is a consistent trending topic on the microblogging site, Twitter, demonstrating the supposedly large crowd captivated by JuliElmo.

Surprisingly, however, the movie turned out to be a flop. The movie failed to impress the moviegoers in most of the cinemas nationwide. It was an unexpected outcome because the movie have been advertised well by some major publications and in social media such as Twitter and Facebook.

During the first 2 or 3 days, the movie was shown in more than 100 theaters nationwide. However, the movie received negative reviews from the viewers, driving most of the SM Cinemas to pull it out from their big screen in the following days.

Currently, the movie is showing only in 5 cinemas nationwide:

Usap-usapan ngayon sa mga forum na isa sa mga dahilan ng pagka FLOP ng pelikula nila Julie Anne San Jose at Elmo Magalona ay ang mga fans nito.

Ang tinutukoy na fans ay ang JuliELmo dahil nga daw sa iniwan nila ang kanilang idolo sa ere, matapos kasing magrequest at magtrend sa twitter ang petetion nila na pagtambalan sina Elmo at Julie sa isang pelikula ay agad naman ito binigyan ng aksyon ng GMA Network.

Ayon naman sa iba sinisisi ng ilan ang JULIELMO dahil nga sa ginawa nila ay hindi nila nasuportahan ang nasabing pelikula may nagsabi rin na baka walang mga pera ang mga ito kaya hindi pa nakakanuod naku ha tigilan na natin ang intrigang ito ang tanong kasi ilan ba ang members ng Julielmo.

Kinakalap ng PEP ang box-office returns ng magkatapat na Just One Summer at The Reunion, ngunit parehong mailap ang mga prodyusers ng dalawang pelikula. Gayunpaman, nalaman ng PEP na pull-out sa ilang sinehan ang Just One Summer ng GMA Films sa second day pa lang, at ipinalit dito ang katatapos pa lang ipalabas na The Healing. Samantala, sa hindi malamang dahilan, ayaw ding magbigay ng Star Cinema, prodyusers ng The Reunion, ng box-office figures para rito. Nag-aabang pa rin ang mga PEPsters sa totoong resulta.

Nakakaawa naman ang GMA Films dahil pinirata at nagkalat sa bangketa ngayon ang kanilang movie na Just One Summer na sinasabing FLop at hindi kumita sa takilya.



Naku ha meron pa palang nagkakainteres na piritahin ang pelikulang Just One Summer kahit naging FLop ito sa takilya, hindi ba naawa ang namirata nito sa GMA Films dahil lugi ang movie na ito, biruin mo mahigit 6million ang kita nito in 2 weeks diba nakakaawa.

Sana maaksyunan ng mga kinauukulan ang pamimirata sa pelikulang Just One Summer.
