kulang sa hype at star power. Specialty kasi ng ABS-CBN ang mga iyan.

ABS-CBN could also hype not just films but sports teams as well....tignan niyo yung Azkals at Volcanoes.


Although i would still credit GMA for producing top class high-quality films in the past...most notably Jose Rizal and Muro-Ami.

I find it frustrating to see na hindi marunong mag-retain ng talent ang GMA, they discover artists with great potential but they don't know to build up on it.

GMA FILMS: HIT OR MISS

GMA Films seems to be on a hit or miss trending.

They have produced some worth-seeing films especially during its early years.

Except for “The Road” in the recent years, the film arm of GMA Network doesn’t seem to be consistently making good films, even its co-production ventures, than it used to do. Their rom-coms, especially those starred in by their so-called tween stars don’t seem to make the grade. Their current production, starring Elmo Magalona and Julie Anne San Jose, hasn’t received much positive reaction either from writers or fans.

Maybe it’s high time for them to take better advisers.

Or filmmakers who have better insights on how commercially viable films are made.

Or don’t they know that two heads are better than one? Just asking…

Dapat lang siguro kabahan si Ogie Alcasid sa Boy Pick-Up the Movie . Hindi kilala ng marami si Boy Pick-Up, na isang karakter sa Bubble Gang.

’Yun namang manonood ng gag show sa GMA 7 ay baka magkasya na lamang panoorin ito sa TV at hindi na gumastos pa sa panonood nito sa pelikula.

Undeniably ay sikat na sikat na ang pag-isip ng mga pick-up lines ngayon sa atin. Pati nga si Senadora Miriam Santiago ay gumagamit na ng pick-up lines sa kanyang mga speeches. Pero sapat na ba ito para madala ang pelikula sa tagumpay? Let us hope so.

Get ready for the comedy movie of the year- "Boy Pick-Up the Movie;" opens in cinemas June



Directed by Dominic Zapata, “Boy Pick-Up the movie” is a co-production of Regal Entertainment and GMA Films. "Boy Pick-Up the movie” a spin-off movie of the popular sketch segment of longest running comedy show in the country “Bubble Gang” will hit theaters nationwide starting June 6.

Joining Ogie Alcasid as 'Boy Pick-Up' in this much-awaited comedy film of the year are Michael V., Dennis Trillo, Sam Pinto, Sarah Lahbati, Gwen Zamora, Eri Neeman and Solenn Heussaff.

GMA Films "Boy Pick Up" certified FLOP!

Unfortunately, as expected, another film from the Kapuso Network is not doing good in box office returns. The said comedy film reportedly earns only less than 10 million in 5 days. This is yet to confirm by the GMA Films.

Elmo, Julie Anne Work Hard For Their Loveteam

Last week, before the well-attended premiere of GMA Films’ “Just One Summer” at SM Megamall, the movie’s director, Mac C. Alejandre, enumerated several reasons why Elmo Magalona and Julie Ann San Jose can make it big in their showbiz careers, be superstars even in the near future.

Direk Mac referred to Julie Anne as the “YouTube Queen” and Elmo, as the son of the late master rapper Francis M. and with their respective inherent talents, why couldn’t they be successful in their careers?

“They are today the hottest and most popular young loveteam. Pareho silang magaling kumanta. They really have the potential to become superstars. Naniniwala ako sa kakayahan nila, and I believe this is their time to shine,” Direk Mac said. In addition to Elmo and Julie Anne’s magical onscreen presence, their music also makes the movie different. “Alam naman nating ang musika ay malaking bagay sa pagiging successful ng isang pelikula. You’ll be surprised, gugulatin kayo ng pelikulang ito.”

“Just One Summer” is now on its second week and the production people who made the rounds of the theaters said the movie is a success box-office wise. By the way, the movie also stars Alice Dixson, Cherry Pie Picache, Joel Torre, Boboy Garovillo, and Ms. Gloria Romero. Completing the cast are Sheena Halili, Lexi Fernandez, Arkin Magalona, Sef Cadayona, Steven Silva, Diva Montelaba, Ana Feleo, Mon Confiado and Bentong Sumaya among others.

DAHIL kaya sa bagyong Helen kaya sobrang hina ng opening day noong isang araw ng launching movie nina Elmo Magalona at Julie Ann San Jose? O sadyang wala namang fan base ang dalawang bagitong starlet at mali ang timing ng GMA 7 para gawin silang big stars?

On the other hand, sinasabing sagabal daw si Lauren Young sa love team ng dalawa dahil ito nga ang tunay na girlfriend ni Elmo.

Kamakaiilanay lumipat na rin sa GMA 7 si Lauren at mismong nanay ni Elmo na si Pia Magalonaang bago niyang manager. If this is the case, at kung true na sa tunay na buhay sila ni Elmo, hindi malayong isang araw papatayin na ang team up nina Elmo at Julie Ann at sina Lauren at Elmo ang pagtatambalin.

Hindi kaya?

Amidst all this, nag-deny si Elmo na nagsabing wala silang relasyon ni Lauren.

Pero sino pa ang maniniwala, sino ang magpapaloko sa kanya? The rumor has been very persistent at marami ang sumusumpang sa tunay na buhay ay silang dalawa nga.
