"Controversial" gaming opinions

Copy protection is one of the things I look at before buying games, along with minimum system requirements. Companies that publish games with non-intrusive or even zero copy protection do exist -- Oblivion had a simple disc check without the funky weak sectors, and Fallout 3 at least does not require you to phone in during install. One notable publisher is Stardock, which pushes out games with zero protection. The games themselves had good reviews, too.

EA is mostly a jerk, not a complete one. Warhammer Online has no copy protection for obvious reasons and they leave Valve games alone and let Steam handle the DRM.

kadalasan.. para lamang maging malakas ka.. you need $$$..
games are not worth paying for.. para lang may recovery items, you need to buy pots from them etc.. the players are being manipulated just to fork their cash out.

360 hardware.. sakitin.. pag natamaan ng Error minsan di na maayos.. may 3RL pa. Mahal ang online gaming, naninira pa ng dvd kahit orig.

hardcore console fanboys... damn you!!! di kayo kailangan ng industriya! mga bitter at walang wentang comments! para kayong mga tga GMA at ABS! napakaliit na nga lang ng industriya nag hihilahan pa!... oh well what can we do? there is a battle for market share here..

The Video Game industry is starting to be like showbiz. Always hiding to the public the truth between games and deals and exclusivities and such.. although they do have the right of confidentiality but then again sometimes it's what makes games, products or anything overrated.

I've got a pet peeve on people who throw around the "hardcore gamer" monicker without even thinking. There are different kinds of hardcore gamers....

...but that doesn't include MMO-only players. Wasting money grinding, looking for rare items only to sell them....that's not good gaming, and certainly not hardcore, at all.

Why can't there be a good video game TV show?

Why all the brouhaha about a Pinoy game character? Geez, man, I don't get it. It don't mean sh!t. If it's a Pinoy gamer who has achieved god level, then that's what they should make a fuss about.

I'm not a hypocrite. I also buy pirated games....but I never defend that action. Those who do, making big arguments about it, are just plain stupid.

Microsoft represents the lack of poetic justice the video game industry sometimes experience. That company should be punished for releasing a faulty console. Including a 3RL = designed to fail, right from the start. With all the advancements in technology, overheating should be the least of your console problems....

...but game developers are still churning out good games for it. There's your freaking lack of justice. Wii has been leading in hardware sales, yet Nintendo can't get the high-profile 3rd party titles that would solidify their winning streak, like a GTA or a flagship Final Fantasy title. WHY?!?!

As a developer, I'd still take my chances seeing that that motions-sensor-thingy-powered console has found themselves on a lot of homes, which means my masterpiece game would sell more. Plus, I'd take this technology over overheating tech (and what-have-yous) any day so they can enjoy my game longer.

The Wii fails to draw 3rd party devs in for two reasons imo

1) The controller is by far the WORST possible controller for any sort of traditional console gaming that isn't specifically tailored for the Wii motion sensor.

2) The Wii has the worst technological base of the three major consoles today. I think it's still using Gamecube level tech, something thats getting close to five years old now.

Oh yeah, the Wii's 3rd party line-up is surely booming. Just look at these keepers.

no.. the reason very few 3-rd party goes to wii is because wii is offering something different and many developers either refuse to try to get out of their comfort zone or think that the controls is gimmicky or they lack the creativity to exploit it. mostly it's because of the "comfort zone" issue...

weather the new controls is good or bad it's really still up for debate so i can't really say

graphics wise it's similar to GC while processor wise it's better than the GC but not that much... i forgot who said it but he coined the Wii as "...a piece of $417! it's basically 2 gamecube duct tapped together."
