First time to post here.
Just finished s2 finale, and until now may GOT hangover pa ako. Ang tagal na naman ng iintayin for s3.
Why I love this series so much? Apaka unpredictable ng mga mga events, kinakabahan tuloy ako baka biglang mamatay na lang ang mga favorite characters ko ng bigla bigla.
medyo late na't kakapanood ko pa lang ng season 2 finale this week (I had to resort to HBO in the absence of any decent streaming link)
again the show relied on the peripheral lands rather than on the central setting (westeros) to close the season with an epic relish. the last fifteen minutes was almost a dialogue between essos and the lands beyond the wall. i like the parallelism between dany and jon: both managed to destroy their enemies even with their hands tied. i thought the last scene would be about jon just as season 1's was about dany. but apparently the anticipation of seeing the king-beyond-the-wall or the triumph at the house of the undying would nowhere be as climactic as the march of zombies

on "valar morghulis"...
[spoiler start]GRRM is reminiscent of JRRT in his gift for building alienish terms out of indo-european roots. valar "(all) men" appears to be built from the same root as norse valr "slain in battlefield" and val- in valkyrie "chooser of the slain," from proto-indo-european *uel- "die." man = mortal/dying being.
in morghulis "(must) die," mor- takes from *mer "bite/die," also the root of mortal. -ghulis is just a suffix to make it sound more exotic.
linguistics 101 lang.[spoiler end]
I want to catch up with the books but when a friend of mine did, he got depressed after.![]()

lolsome people just take tv seriously.. what simpletons, hillbillies
thanks for sharing that mod CaRaMBa.
Season 2 seemed a bit rushed to me. I guess, generally, all TV/movie adaptations would feel kind of rushed, eh? It didn't feel that way for the first season, though.
Anyway, as much as I liked S2, S1 is better. The pacing was great and you get to know the characters a bit more. I'm afraid for how they would adapt A Feast for Crows. That 4th book was sh!t.
I would've liked to see more of Grey Wind tearing out people's throats in S2... but that's just me.![]()
