    my friend applied for convergys san lazaro site last april 11 and was made to sign a job offer dated april 30. he was so happy because he was told that training would start april 30, that's why he signed. the offer isn't really that high, 15,500 (basic + allowances). he asked about the additional 2,500 allowance from the account and was told that they would still be waiting for the "result" of the final test that he took. that information wasn't given during the interview -- he only found out about it when he was already reading the contract (j.o). he signed it anyway, confident that he would surely pass that test. and as expected, he did. but he only found out about it on the day he submitted his partial requirements, and was made to wait because the contract will be replaced with another now bearing the account allowance that will be added, 18k total. he was also told that the training date will be moved next month -- 30 days more of waiting. he was shocked. although he's heard about this "unfortunate" incidents happen to a lot of people (who applied in convergys san lazaro by back reading this thread), he gave his full trust thinking maybe this time, things have changed. but he felt sorry for himself because he already resigned from his previous job and he still has to wait for another month!? he said that he couldn't afford to wait for a month more, and asked what he'll do if he decides not to pursue with convergys. he was told that a "slot" was already reserved for him, and should he decide not to continue, he should inform them so the slot would be given to somebody else. the person who interviewed him talked him out of his shock and frustration, and he relented. he just accepted a part time job offer while waiting. after 2 weeks he called for an update, and he was told to complete all the requirements and submit it. he said that he'll just submit the rest of the requirements on the day of the orientation -- just being practical to save a trip. he called after a week, and he was told that the training would be moved again for another week. so 2 weeks of waiting. after a week, he called again, and he was told that because he wasn't able to submit the rest of the requirements, he was not prioritized and he will just be included in the next training which is scheduled 3 weeks from that day. what? he expressed that he would be submitting the rest of the requirements on orientation day -- he wasn't told that that could be a bad idea. he doesn't know what to believe anymore. they kept on moving the date. then after 2 months of waiting, he'll get "you were not prioritized because...."
    he prioritized convergys. just sad that the company can't do the same with their applicants. he's hoping this will never happen again to anyone. clear and honest instructions should be made. if the training will really start 2 months from now, then tell it straight. what they're doing is making the applicants go for the "bait" of a seemingly IMMEDIATE definite start date. maybe it has worked for some, that's why they kept on doing it. but this practice should stop.

    wow, your friend told them that? I believe there is a deadline for requirements, like you have to submit documents on a certain time. I had my list of requirements before and it was indicated on that paper. Maybe the reason why your friend was transferred to another wave is because he wasn't able to submit his requirements on time, hence prioritized the people who were able to submit theirs on time.

    exactly. i think what you failed to read is this line:
    "he expressed that he would be submitting the rest of the requirements on orientation day -- he wasn't told that that could be a bad idea."

    ... were THEY NOT LISTENING to that request? all they have to do is CLEARLY INSTRUCT, and NOT SOUND clueless as to the exact details of the DATES OF ORIENTATION and TRAINING whenever they are asked. the point here is MISINFORMATION and KEEPING PEOPLE WAITING. don't you think making people wait for two months is kinda cruel?

    I'm sorry, I don't know where your friend is coming from. But would it be fair for those applicants who were prioritized because they were able to submit their documents on time and not on the orientation itself? That they kept on going back to the office to submit the requirements, even if it cost them money for traveling, they still did because it is a sure job? I also don't get it why your friend thought that asking his potential employer for a request was not a bad idea. Who are we to ask requests, in the first place? I'm not saying we are not allowed to but we have to earn it before doing so. Also, isn't it our responsibility that we have to be on top of things? Our employers should not be spoon-feeding us. We are already adults and we should know what to do. I know waiting for 2 months is long but it is better compared to those millions of people who are jobless and waiting for their whole life to have one. Your friend is lucky to be just waiting for a few more weeks. Just a thought.

    I appreciate your passion of voicing out your friend's concern. I maybe wrong but I'd just like to share my perspective and might help in a way.

    di ako nakaabot sa production e.. hindi talaga ako comfortable sa tech account.. kaya ayun I was eliminated from transition tollgate 1.. Uverse account ko... sobrang
    hirap talaga para sa akin..

    sana ilipat na lang ng account.. hindi pa kasi ito natatanung sa HR e..

    Hi, just in case someone is looking for a place to rent around San Lazaro area.

    Hi guys! Nabasa ko yung stories nyo about sa company. Sounds terrible! But **** happens talaga. Pero with majority naman, including myself, we're having a blast! I'd be staying here for long! That's coming from someone na madaling ma-bore. So give it a try.

    And btw, I can refer you guys! Split tayo sa 5k. PM nyo nalang ako If you're looking for cash habang hindi pa kayo nag-start, this is the way to go

    Walang non-voice agent post dito. As long as pasok ka sa minimum requirement na no less than 2 years of college (for new timers) and 6 months naman for HS grads, pwede ka sumabak sa interview.

    Well, BPO, despite what others have to say, compensates more than any Filipino-powered corporation. Or at least for entry posts. So, yes, I won't say na sumabak nalang without any weapon, which is a metaphor to your answers and how you carry yourself during the entire length of the process. That's silly. Subukan mo lang. Be acquainted with the common questions, practice your answers and be confident without exuding 'arrogance'. Text mo ko, if you want 2.5k, given na makapasa ka. Marami akong kilala dito na first job at BPO nila ito pero nakapasok. Hindi rin kailangan perpekto ang English spoken quality and content since you'll be trained to improve on them naman. And the skills just sink in and click every passing day you'll be with the company. Give it a try at least.

    Pano hiring process dito? Pare-parehas ba ng process nila every site? Nag apply ako last month sa makati, nahirapan ako sa story telling. Hahaha

    Accounts: Paypal, Cigna, Macy's and Uverse. Pinaka generous ang Uverse and Cigna with the program allowance. Malapit na matapos ramp ng Uverse and Cigna, not sure kung tumatanggap pa sila. Pinaka-malaki Uverse account so expect every month may internal hiring (which translates to promotion). Ramping sila for Macy's, pero relatively mas maliit offer do'n.

    Mon 6 pm - Fri 12 am - Dress up. Hindi ko sure 'to. HAHA. Pero parang ganto nga. Rest of the week, dress down. Kapag passing scorecard mo for a week, dress down, or up, kung ano trip mo for the next week. May site-wide events din na napaka-common na pwede mag-dress-down. Wag mo masyado problemahin, hindi ka mawawalan ng smart casual dito. Haha!

    As to the salary, basic (depende sa exp) + allowance (2.5k) + program allowance (2.5k). Appraisal every 3 months ata for passing scorecard. More benefits pagdating ng regularization. May health card and all din. Also, kaunti lang kaltas ko dito every cut-off, as in wala pang 1k for taxes na bawas. As in basic + allowance mo ilang piso nalang buo na. Take my word for it. Sabi nila may disputes, e sa lahat naman meron. Probably error with the system, but it can be addressed naman. :P
