I suggest you go over to the RCBC branch where you got your RCBC mywalet and ask why. My RCBC-Mercury Drug My Wallet Visa cost me only P20 and I didn't have to load yet. Got it from Mercury Drug Market Market when they had a promotion last year (no name on card).

This thread was a big help. Thank you, guys and gals! Got my PSBank Prepaid Mastercard just this morning.

Is it possible for me to transfer funds from my BPI Family savings account to my prepaid mastercard?

Well, I don't think it's possible for BPI, but I think it's possible if you have another bancnet-affiliated bank account, Just confirm this with PSBank. And if it does, it would cost around P25-P30 for each funds transfer from one bancnet member bank to another.

But here's what I did to avoid the fees. I opened a PSBank savings account (with free Debit Mastercard) to save me the trouble of reloading my prepaid mastercard over the counter and without the P10 reloading fee because I reload online from my debit mastercard to my prepaid mastercard. And i could do the same vice versa (from prepaid to debit mastercard), again for free. Kaya basically, i'm not paying for any annual, card or reloading fees, even the transferring of funds. And it earns interest on my savings account for a minimum of P5K (P2K maintaining balance)

It goes the same with my BPI direct and BPI-My e-Prepaid (Although I can't transfer from My e-Prepaid back to my savings account).

Thumbs up Maybank International ATM and Cash Card

I opened a Maybank savings account last week just to get their International ATM. Why, because withdrawals from Maybank branches in Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei are free. You can save $3.50 fee for each international withdrawal you make in these countries. So if you are a frequent traveler in these countries, this could really save you those charges.

I opened the value savings account with P500 maintaining balance (P10K to earn interest) and paid P100 ATM card fee (but it's going to be free if you go with another account with P10k maintaining balance).

Or you can opt for their Cash Card. But it will cost P150 card fee, P50 annual fee and consumable initial loading amount of P300. No reloading fees over the counter. You can also reload online if you have an account with them.

Unfortunately, neither of the two can be used to make international purchases, just free withdrawals from Maybank ATMs (other International ATMs with a fee) and local purchases from merchants who accept bancnet payments. But that's okay since I have my PSBank Prepaid and Debit Mastercards, BPI My e-Prepaid and Unionbank EON.

    So Malaysia, here I come.

"Its partner banks will launch at least four prepaid cards this year. Among its partners are Land Bank of the Philippines Union Bank of the Philippines, Bank of the Philippines Islands, and Rizal Commercial Banking Corp"

Unionbank already has EON Visa, so does RCBC with MyWallet Visa. Pwede pa sa Landbank. But with BPI, let's see because all their cards, including prepaid and cash cards, are from Mastercard.

Nice to know that there are people out there sharing the same feelings I have with Debit/Prepaid/Cash Cards.

Also, I read somewhere that the RCBC MyWallet Visa will now be removed and will all be shifted to the RCBC-Mercury MyWallet Visa.

For Unionbank EON, if there is going to be an alternative then good. People may now have better choices.

Cool Maybank International ATM/Local Debit Card

I opened a Maybank savings account last week just to get their International ATM. Why, because withdrawals from Maybank branches in Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei are free. You can save $3.50 fee for each international withdrawal you make in these countries. So if you are a frequent traveler in these countries, this could really save you those charges.

Unfortunately, neither of the two can be used to make international purchases, just free withdrawals from Maybank ATMs (other International ATMs with a fee) and local purchases from merchants who accept bancnet payments. But that's okay since I have my PSBank Debit Mastercard for purchases and BPI Express Teller International ATM as backup for cash.

Next stop, Malaysia in June and Singapore either December 2012 or perhaps next year.

Nag open po ako ng Peso ATM Savings Account ko kahapon sa BDO Kapasigan Branch in Pasig City, By may 25 po makukuha ko na B.D.O Card.. Pwede ko po ba i Transfer B.D.O Peso ATM Savings Account to ATM Debit Card?? at kahit po Student pa lang ako pwede po ba ako gumamit ng BDO ATM Debit card??

  12. #292
May nabasa ako na, two years yung My ePrepaid card ng BPI, at 500 pesos yung fee.

    Question regarding RCBC MyWallet VISA:
Sabi sa website pwede mag-load ng funds sa MyWallet via Expressnet ATMs... Does this mean pwedeng mag-funds transfer from a BPI ATM?

    Thanks!

  14. #294

hmmm. sounds tempting.. unlike the BPI My e-Prepaid and Unionbank EON, I can see EW Prepaid doesn't have any annual fees, just the P100 card fee.

Anyway, just post more FYIs about this (i.e card limit, PayPal connection, online reloading via acct. with EW, etc. ) in case you're able to talk to one of their reps.
