Yeah. Yung iba ganito ginagawa. Isa ito sa popular State na inaaplyan, same with New Mexico.

But I'm confused on this one too. A nursing forum stated that the NCLEX, along with your records will be deleted if that 3-year period has been reached. And also, Pearson Vue will not release any official NCLEX report or anything that can be used to prove that you pass NCLEX. They will just relay your NCLEX result to your respective BON. They are the testing agency, not the licensing authority.

So, considering that its really 8 years, it's a good news. But what if your CA records reached that 3-year period. Where will you get the NCLEX result? In Pearson Vue? I don't think so. Any official NCLEX result should come from the State Board., no where else.

(better ask CA BON for more accurate info)

I read the info on my agency's bulletin board. It's a CA BON announcement or memo or whatever.

Ay oo nga. As far as I know, Florida, Oregon, Arizona, at ilan pang State, eh tumatanggap ng CES from other credentialing agencies, like ERES and IERF. Mas mura sa mga ito kesa sa CGFNS. Yun nga lang, kapag naisipan mo na magpa-endorse sa ibang State na CGFNS CES ang required, eh kakailanganin mo pa rin ang CGFNS CES. Kaya mas okay pa din CGFNS kahit mahal, kasi almost all State eh accepted siya.

KElangan lang naman yun pag required dun sa state yung CES. Nagmamadali lang kase ako dati, sobrang dami ng applications noon sa CGFNS e. Tapos ngayon eto nababato na sa kakahintay magka visa hahah good luck na lang

    Yup, you are right.

Here's a link that can somehow help to clarify things about that CA and SSN...this is from allnurses.com

OO nga, sana matapos na retrogression!

let's say nakakuha ka na ng license sa VT tapos paendorse ka sa CA they would still ask for the SSN right? so parang ganon din kahit you go thru VT nde ka pa rin makakakuha ng CA lic or any other state like NY or NJ...tama ba ko?

If you go through VT for your licensure, and they require SSN but will give you a license, then it's good. What Im saying is, even if you want to endorse to a State that require an SSN to release your license, the fact that you already have your first license (in VT) will give you the privilege to endorse your license anywhere without having to worry that your records will expire. You will just have to renew it per expiration rule.

With the current retrogression (meaning: unavailability of green cards), it can take up to 7 years before you can have a green card. Green card holders/US Citizens are the only people allowed to apply for a Social Security Number (SSN). SSN is a requirement of California BON before they issue you an actual license. They'll just send you a letter stating that you pass the NCLEX (if you pass the NCLEX). Then, they will give you 3 years as an expiration of your records with them. When I say records, it includes your application and your NCLEX result. This means, if that 3-year grace period lapsed, and you still don't have the SSN, then they will destroy your file and you will have to go through the same NCLEX/Licensure application again. So you'll sit again for your NCLEX.

On the lighter side, California BON knows the retrogression so you can send them a letter as an appeal to extend that 3-year period with reason of visa unavailability. Up to when you can extend or re-extend, I don't know. And when will retrogression end, I still don't know. But I'm hopeful that it will end soonest. lol

All State requires SNN. But if you don't have, other States will just let you sign an affidavit that you don't have one and they will give you an actual license. Others, although they require one, will not give you an actual license, but will not destroy your records.

As far as I know, only California will destroy an applicant's record if he/she doesn't have a SSN after the grace period. Yes it is cheaper to apply to California because there's no English Exams and CGFNS services that other States require. But with the present immigration situation, it is likely that that 3-year period be used and CA will destroy your file.

    Some advisable State to apply:

New Mexico, New York, and Oregon! I applied in Oregon and you'll be amazed on how efficient their services are. The maximum time you'll wait for your eligibility is 4 weeks. And they are very prompt in answering any queries that you may have.

PM me if I can be of any help!
i passed the nclex last feb. [california]. i got that same letter stating that i need the SSN. had i known about it before, i would've applied in a state that doesn't require an SSN. i tried calling one of the states that doesnt require SSN to inquire if it's possible to do a 'score endorsement' but they only accept license endorsements.

is it true that i can write to them to extend the 3year period? do you know of anyone who has done this and was granted an extension? if so, this is GREAT news for me!

you don't have to endorse your license to CA right away. I mean, what's the point if you can't leave PH yet? Now say if you're leaving in the next few months, then that's a great time to endorse your license to CA and then just submit your SSN at a latter date, when you're already in the US. Or you can just endorse once you're already there.

New York madali lang kasi CGFNS na naman bahala sa papers mo depende na lang kung magka-aberya sa school records mo. Matagal at magastos pero worth it naman. Pinagsabay ko yung State Ed at CGFNS CVS NY, waited about 6 months then dumating na eligibility ko to take the NCLEX tas nagapply na ako sa Pearson the next day may ATT na. $350+$135+$200.

anyway, can anyone tell me kung magkano ang total na ipapa bank draft ko for California NCLEX? I don't think i need the interim kasi andito pa naman ako. And do you know which bank offers this even if you dont have a persomal account with them? Thank you very much, RNs

May naririnig ako about compact states what about this? they say if you have a US RN license in one of these states pede ka na magpractice sa iba pa without endorsement as long as kasali sya sa compact states.

regarding sa endorsement, kung mabigyan ako ng license sa VT tapos mgpaendorse ako sa CA mabibigyan na ako ng license sa CA, right? if that's the case pede na ako magwork sa CA kung ma mahanap ako? (hypothetical lang kase wala pa akong nagagawang step for NCLEX but I'm researching na) sana nga matanggal na yang retrogression na yan but what are the chances na mawawala na sya? i heard freeze hiring daw ngayon sa CA tapos ang dami dami pang nagaapply don.

Hi, CA won't issue you a license if you do not have an SSN. And you can only have an SSN if you're already working in the US.

Please read the U.S. Visa Retogression Club thread here so you can have an idea on how bad the retro situation is. You would only be officially affected by the retro if you have an approved I-140 EB3 immigrant petition filed by a U.S. employer.

    God bless.
