But yes, a short amount of time is still possible for a church wedding basta you have money to burn. My sis got married with as little as 12 month prep but they had a lot of money to burn... tipong sky's the limit hehehe. Kaya go lang ng go kahit ano pa ang price.

    hello nowonder...

am sorry to burst your bubble on this dear, but as a somewhat OC-person (i like things to be well-planned & organized, so that the execution will go smoothly), am afraid that a church wedding with 1-2mos. notice is impossible to pull off, unless you & your fiance is willing to stash out a whole lot of moolah (and i agree with the other lady posters who said the same thing), add to that a whole troop of friends who are willing to help you get things done, then i think it's feasible.

ang nakikita ko kasing issue dito is that, hindi ito masyadong napagusapan kaya ang nangyayari, nagka-cram kayo (parang exam, hehe) one thing to note is that, a wedding is not like a quarterly exam: it's your preparation for the next life, which is married life. so, for me, planning is an important factor to be considered here.

but anyhow, this is not a thread para pagalitan ka o anuman. you need help, so i'll also offer you some assistance.. actually it's more of setting your mind on the real facts. am getting married also pero sa church naman (got married civilly na last Nov.). am here in Dubai right now, but my wife is the one who is making the preparations. we're slated to get married in Oct 2009, pero more than a year na namin ito pinaguusapan. so you see, dapat noon pa lang, kung talagang sigurado na kayo sa isa't-isa, napagusapan nyo na yan noon pa.

anyway, here are my thoughts on some of your queries:

    1) unless you have tonnes of moolah to stash, and may mga friends kayo who are willing to be your slaves/secretaries/assistants, etc. (kelangan mo i-delegate ang sourcing sa mga kaibigan mo para di ka ngarag), then like i've said, it's feasible. start with a date, dear dun iikot lahat. and since you only have less than 2 weeks to go this dec., set the date in february, para at least may isang buwan pa kayong maghanda.

    2) turnaround time for the ff.:

    a) wedding dresses (fr the bride-groom to the entourage) - may theme ba kayo? kung meron, medyo matatagalan, and depende pa sa gagawa (nag-backread ako ng ilang posts dito eh). kung may kakilala kayong modista na makakagawa ng damit in a short span of time w/o compromising on quality, go to that person. kung wala naman kayong theme, then settle on the classics, i guess.

    b) church reservation - catholic wedding ba? if yes, answer is: malabo. kasi kami ni misis nag-scout ng mga churches for our church wedding. most of the churches would require advanced bookings para ma-slate na nila kung sino ikakasal sa ganitong oras at araw. you also have to consider your desired wedding date kung may kaagaw ka or wala. also, take note na some church have some limitations when it comes to the ceremony, especially after the ceremony. kami ni misis, we chose Mary the Queen Parish in Greenhills kasi maganda sya, kaso matindi naman ang requirements. hindi po sila nagaacept ng rush, katulad ng pinaplano nyo. sorry and, add to that yung mga documents na kelangan nila (seminars, banns, etc.) so un. otherwise, you guys can opt for a christian wedding. un kaya pa. no need for the ceremony to be held at a church. kahit garden wedding kering-keri lang. you'll just got to have a friend who is a pastor/minister & is licensed by the goverment to officiate weddings.

    c) invitations - am not sure abt that kasi i let my wifey do that - the preparations, that is. if you want, punta ka ng Recto. marami dung gumagawa ng mga invites. you can ask them if they can do rush orders. but, having studied there, most likely these guys will compromise on the quality of the goods, you'll get pissed big time.

    d) reception - again, it's all abt the issue of money. if you & your fiance opted to a christian wedding, you can have it held mismo sa reception ninyo. may mga packages naman na ino-offer ang mga venues (since may mga tie-ups din sila with the caterers). so browse ka na lang sa The Wedding Library (just Google it na lang po). ngayon kung may open slot para sa wedding nyo, at kung may cold cash agad kayo, then settle it para ma-arrange na nila un for you.

    3) budget for a super-rushed wedding. hmmm i think you'll need around half a mil to a mil pesoses to stash (estimate lang po iyon ha.)

    4) civil or church (whether catholic or christian) yung basic docs na kelangan nyo are the ff.:

    a) birth cert ninyo (civil po itong pinaguusapan natin, ha.)

    b) CENOMAR for you (?), para siguradong verified na di ka kasal sa iba, hehe. sa fiance mo, am not sure since US citizen sya. ask him to contact the Phil. Embassy or Consulate there to get more viable info.

    c) sa Catholic church wedding:

c.a.) if both couples are Catholic:

    3) Pre-Cana seminar

    c.b.) for inter-faith or mixed (Catholic & something-else)

    1) *** dispensation letter na sinasabi nila na manggagaling sa Archdiocesan Chancery that allows either party with a diff. religion to be married under the Sacrament of Matrimony.
    2) letter from the Pastor/Minister of the other church allowing the member to be married under the rites of the Catholic church.

so far, based on my understanding & experience sa preparations (and we are currently preparing), as well as the posts of the other pexers here, yun ang mga kelangan mong malaman. bottomline my dear: i don't mean to burst your bubble, pero mukhang impossible talaga ang pina-plano nyo. sinabi ko lang syang feasible based on the assumption na willing kayong magwaldas talaga ng pera (thing is, you have to lure these people para magawa nila ang ine-expect mo, and money is one good motivator). but, aside from money, kelangan mo ng support group dito na tutulong sayo na maisagawa *** wedding ninyo in such a short span of time nang maganda at truly memorable.

i wish you & your fiance all the best & hope things will turn out just fine....

postscript: oo nga pala, before ko makalimutan, if there's one thing that the other pexers forgot to mention here, it's the number of invites. ilan ba ang plano ninyong papuntahin sa kasal nyo? kelangan may target kayong bisita kung ayaw ninyong langawin ang event nyo. un pa pala. that's it for me.

no wonder add, ko lang ha. medyo nag-speed backread lang ako ng mga posts dito. but i would appreciate it if you can share with us kung ano na ang naging progress ng planning nyo. *** post ko sayo is based dun sa query mo, which was posted last oct pa hehe...

    Good News!!

    @sweetham
aynaku talagang nakakaloka ang preparations ko! hehehehe

    @souljah
thanks ha...hehe.....half a mil na budget is over na....actually, 200k lang budget namin....and ok naman lahat....simpleng bongga...hehe...sabi ko kasi yung mga basic necessities for the wedding lang ang gagastusin namin....yung mga ibang eklavu na hindi naman msyadong kailangan, ay ndi na kami gagastos para dun...idagdag na lang namin sa honeymoon yun!...haha....practical kasi ako eh...

    uuwi si H2B on january 14, 2009...

    Date: January 24,2009
Church: Our Lady of Consolation Parish (ganda dito pramis! hehe)
    Reception: Blue Gardens

and yung other necessities for the wedding nilakad na din namin...(gowns, invitations,etc)....

so there...long read ba? sensya na....

lapit na big day namin! im so excited! hehehhee....

yes we know each other here

one month preparation for the docs?? i think that would be enough.

marriage license= after 2 weeks pa makuha yun upon application. personal appearance from both of you ang kailangan.

parental consent = may ganitong form sa mga municipal and city halls. bale signature na lang ng parents mo ang kelangan. eto ang una mong kunin sa city hall or which town you are planning to get married since you are under 21. kapag meron ka na nito, makakapag apply na kayo ng marriage license together with other docs like birth certificate. si hubs mo naman, since i think he's over 25 na, what he needs to get is a CENOMAR (certificate of non marriage) sa NSO. and that's what he'll need naman to apply for a license.

Hihi... oo nga. i'm getting married na din kasi December this year.

pre-cana = yep yan yung seminar sa church. though not really a seminar thing. it will depend. small talk siguro galing kay father or pastor or ministro.

marriage license = correct me if i'm wrong (para sa mga nakakuha ng lisensya jan at nakasal na), but yes, i think BOTH of you will apply for it sa munisipyo kung saan nyo ini intend na magpakasal. for example gusto nyo sa Manila, dun sa Manila City Hall nyo iaapply yun. kung di ka sure (since i'm not also sure), you can check the Legal section here in myKasal since naka state siguro dun panu mag apply for that.

wedding rings... kung mura ang hinahanap nyo, sa Ongpin madami. as in you can find wedding bands there that costs a quarter of the total price in jewelry shops in malls. kung andito ka sa RP, dapat both you and your hubs should go to bridal fairs since wedding suppliers are offering discounts if you book them during the fair and you can haggle kahit papano.

i know. it's really hard to be this far. yung ongpin ba of course i want white gold, hindi ba kami madedenggoy ng mga tao dun? hehe. oh and the wedding gown, too expensive to buy here, hiya nako ke hubs sa kanya lahat ng gastos. pa copy ko na lang sana jan. sino designer mo?
