1-2 months wedding preparation. Is this possible? pls HELP!

hi...we're planning to get married next year (january or february 2009)....ndi pa sure yung exact date kasi magulo pa sked ng fiance ko...(nsa US kasi sya)....so yun nga dahil wala pang exact date, parang ang hirap pa mag-plan...ang hirap pa mgpa-reserve....kasi dba kelangan ng exact date kung mgpapa-reserve...?....bsta january-february 2009 yung wedding....

    1. kung january sya uuwi, kakayanin ba namin mag-prepare for february wedding?....
    2. gaano ba katagal ang preparations for the following?:
    a. wedding gown, dress ng entourage, barongs, etc?
    b. church reservation?
    c. invitations?
    d. reception?

    3. how much budget na kelangan?
    4. and ano po ba mga requirements na kelangan na namin i-prepare for the wedding?...sa church po ano pong requirements?

thank you...pls sana you can share some ideas...kasi wala pa **** ako alam sa gnito...
    thanks..

1-2 mos. preparation is really POSSIBLE for as long as you have the money to burn BUT if i were you try scouting out wedding suppliers as early as now para if your fiance arrive you won't be hopping around na instead you just negotiate with them na lang...

    tips? advise lang...

    1) you should really come up with the definite date kasi dito umiikot lahat. Esp. yung church, reception and videos. The problem that will arise (maybe) if di kayo maka-settle sa date is that all your preferred church, reception place and video is already taken once you come up with the date. If you come up with the date pareserve ka na agad ng church and reception and everything will fall at place...

    2) if january sya dating, magagahol ka na sa oras although if settled na kayo sa date you can work on so many things habang wala pa sya...

    3)

    a) for dresses depende sa couturier usually six (6) months to 1 year (especially pag sikat sya) dapat pero kung mapapakiusapan mo, 1month will be enough. THough you can check out divisoria's seamstress baka pumayag sila for a short notice...

    b) church...kung in demand ang gusto mong church (like cathedral, san agustin, malate church....) one year ang kelangan especially if you really want a specific date pero dun sa mga di sikat for wedding na church one (1) month is okey. check your preferred church na lang...malay mo diba?

    d) reception - it should be considered as soon as my church ka na...this two goes hand in hand.

    e) budget-depends on what wedding do you want.....based on experience a simple wedding like mine (dec 06 wedding, malate church, aristocrat restaurant, 170 pax) cost us 200K

    f) these are the docs you need with you.

    * NSO birth certificate (some church also ask for a certificate of singleness, you can get it from NSO)
    * baptismal and confirmation certs (with annotation "for wedding purposes)
    * marriage license

if i may ask san ba preferred wedding church nyo? just to have some idea on what you still need to know on the area... almost one
    (1) year ang preparation ko so dami ang binasa during dat time that i might share with you....

    a) actually when i checked it out sa DIVI before okey yung mga pinapakita nilang previous work nila pero syempre i cannot assure you that its really okey...however, what my officemate does is she bought her bridal dress na gawa na then pina alter nya sa ibang mananahi base on her specifics...additional bead work and so gumanda sya...
am from san pedro, laguna kasi kung malapit ka lang sana dito i can recommend you my couturier na super ok... minsan nasa bridal fair sya ng SM manila...i'll give you their no. just in case you want to inquire 8693794 look for evelyn guerrero...you might work on the distance...hehehe....what i do with her is that i gave her a copy of the dress i got from the internet and SURELY, gayang gayang nya! hehehe!...check this website na rin for many design option for you and your entourage...thebridalshop.com

    * oh btw, check out sa isang thread yung supplier from DIVi na dapat iwasan...

    b) nice naman ang mt. carmel ah. check mo agad sa kanila ang requirements so you could prepare the same.

    c) that's nice..wala akong artistic side kaya di ko na inattempt gumawa…

    d) wala akong alam about oasis, sorry. But if you need a caterer, check out mo yung Queensland, mura yet sarap food. Great service and easy to deal with..
actually, for the convenience of everybody okey talaga na malapit lang sa church yung reception mo, especially for your guest na walang car pero its just one of the consideration but dont sacrifice naman for that reason dahil papangit naman yung kasal mo esp. sa video...try scouting out for a good reception place, im sure marami dyan sa QC kasi idemand din ang mt. carmel for weddings...keep on looking...

    e) marriage license - you need to do this with you partner pero okey lang kasi it will only take 2 days. kausapin mo na lang yung sa church mo if pwede to follow na lang yan kasi la pa si hubby to be, explain mo na lang sa kanila ang situation mo. they are usually agreeable to dat...
for the seminar (pre-cana and interview) - the church will have it schedule so oks lang yun...

Hala! U havent told your parents?! Hahaha….*** ha!
It will be nice if you share this special moment with your mom…naging lalo kaming naging close ng mommy ko while preparing my wedding….it will be a good bonding experience…sya ang karag karag ko everytime I looked for suppliers pag wala ang aking hubby to be…last time mo na sya makakasama while single so sulitin mo na… she will trully appreciate it…cencia na na-senti ako... now na may baby na ko narealize ko how hard mom sacrifice everything for their kids and they deserve all the love we can give them…

Hi No wonder, tama si Anika, dapat as early as now mag scout ka na ng suppliers. Kami ni Hubby, it took us two years of planning, while wala pa kami date nag scout na kami ng venue. Importante kasi un venue. Nag pa reserve kami sa Gazebo Royale 3 months before our wedding, and un gusto naming date booked na, so we have no choice but to pick na lang date na available. I advice you also na get na rin un packages na worry free, I think Oasis has that. And super ganda ng service nila. With CHurch wala kami naging problem kasi nga Christian kami so dun sa Gazebo Royale na rin ang ceremony namin, we add lang 5000 for the ceremony set up. I don't know if malayo ang Gazebo Royale sa Mt. Carmel, pero try mo ring tingnan, super ganda ng place, or check their website www.gazeboroyale.com. Someone told me kasi na mainit daw sa Oasis, and we also scouted that place, disappointed lang kami ni hubby kasi un marketing assistant, di kami nilibot, so we decided na tingnan ang place. Then may naamoy kami na amoy kanal, when we look around, katabi pala nia is kanal nga. And I would say na medyo di mo ma feel ang exclusivity kasi hindi mataas ang pader, makikita mo pa rin un mga tricycle sa labas and tindera. And hindi rin na meet ng Oasis un requirement namin when it comes to location and its sorroundings. Unlike sa Gazebo, exclusive talaga sia with regards to gown, kami bumili kami ng tela sa divi pati mga other accessories like un pillows, cord.

    @adane

Hi nowonder, un package na nakuha namin sa Gazebo 150T, worry free na sia includes 4 hours use of Phoenix Ave, reception set up, caterer, cake, bridal car, gate pass and service ng photo and video. If you will rent it na venue lang, 55T, i don't know if nagtaas na sila *****. Un bigger place nila Champagne, i;m not sure of the worry free package, pero un venue is 90T. We had 150 guests. About Blue Gardens, we also went there, affordable ang package nila. Kami hanggang antipol nakapunta kami.

hahaha...eh kasi taga san pedro ako...na-advise ko sayo kasi i was informed by my couturier na my tinatahi rin na mga taga manila kaya dati i need to have an appointment everytime punta ako sa kanya...nwei, yung gowns for my entourage ay 1,800 sa matatanda and then 1, 500 sa mga Flower girls. Actually, what i did para malessen gastos namin i asked yung mga abay ko if they give that to me as a gift? kaya yung FGs lang sagot ko. This is applicable kung kukunin mong abay ay super close or kaya relative mo...

the marriage license you can get in either QC or antipolo...magtanung tanung ka... ksi ako MKT si hubby and San Pedro, Lag. ako..dapat dito na lang kami makati kaso super daming requirements and babayaran and then when I ask sa amin na NSO BC lang kelangan dun na lang kami kasi mura at wala masyadong ek-ek. hehehe!

yes, queensland is in LP basically but you can visit their satellite office in Glorietta 2. I'll tell you its worth the effort....

and i super agree with adane..iba iba tayo ng requirements on our wedding kaya scout ka lang ng scout... oki?!?!

hi nowonder, i got married in mt. carmel church last august. to tell you the truth, more than 1 year namin na-prepare ang lahat. hehe! though kaya naman na 1-2 months i-settle lahat, kelangan naka-ipon na kayo at nakapag-scout ng mga possible suppliers. yung mga sikat na suppliers, especially mga photo/video kelangang months pa lang kasi baka ma-fully booked sila by the time of your wedding.

oasis is a nice reception venue, pero kung di ka masyadong particular about having a garden reception, you can look into fr. mark horan hall na nasa loob lang ng mt. carmel grounds. dun kasi yung reception namin, just in case umulan may bubong na ready hehe! you can rent half or the whole area, pwedeng may aircon o wala. may mga accredited caterers sila, i got eloquente and okay ang food and service in terms of price, nice pa freebies.

kung patahi ng mga damit, pag sa divisoria they can do it ng 2-3 months pinakamabilis. yung damit ko nga is off the rack sa tutuban, pero lahat ng guests pati si MIL sabi maganda daw. the trick is to really take time in canvassing.

invitations 2 weeks kaya, provided wala nang revisions. dun lang naman tatagal, or kung maraming specifications yung design. yun nga lang, you have to distribute your invitations at least a month before the wedding.

as for church requirements, bibigyan ka ng list sa office once you make a reservation. after the wedding, kahit ikaw lang mag-isa pwede kumuha ng license.

sa budget, mag-set kayo and work around it, alamin nyo rin kung ano yung ipa-prioritize na suppliers. to give you an idea, for our wedding with 160 guests, hubby and i spent almost 180K.

    good luck!

    hi nowonder,

when we reserved mt. carmel last year, 10K yung church with flowers, carpet and priest. may additional 500pesos kung gusto mong may tulle or yung tela sa aisle. i dunno if they had a price increase na, better if you ask them.

as for requirements, you'll need docs like baptismal and confirmation certificates, birth cert, cedula, ID photo. pag nag-inquire ka sa office in person, bibigyan ka nila ng list nun. andun na rin yung requirements kung ang isa sa inyo ay foreigner or has a non-filipino citizenship. ask ka na lang, mababait naman mga tao dun, medyo busy nga lang lagi kasi dami rin nilang inaasikaso.

PS: if your fiance was born here, malamang meron cyang copy ng birth cert sa NSO.

  13. #13

maganda kasi yung meron kang guide.

  15. #15
^^mukhang malayo ang blue gardens at gazebo royale from mt. carmel. ang alam kong malapit na simbahan doon is st. peter (lapit sa blue gardens) or yung sa UP. not sure kung malapit yung sta. rita de cascia sa mga preferred venues mo. try mo na rin maghanap ng churches in that area in QC.

^sis, kelangan ma-submit ng fiance mo yung marriage bann sa parish nila tapos ibabalik nyo sa st. peter or sa church kung saan kayo ikakasal. di ko sure kung pwedeng proxy, pero if i recall kelangan ata ng signature ng fiance mo yun e. better yet, you can ask the church what to do with this kind of situation.
