wish ko lang kung hindi man ma-televise yung games ng monday sana ilipat ng mancom sa sunday na lang yung playing day nang sa gayun makanood yung mga alumni ng bawat school, kasi ganun rin naman. my 2 cents.
I agree with Tony Montana. It may not matter much to ABS-CBN that we have a weekend slot but at least we can watch the games, even without them instead of a Monday.![]()

NCAA partners with PSC

PRESS RELEASE
The National Collegiate Athletic Association, the oldest and one of the most prestigious leagues in the land, will have the Philippine Sports Commission as its partner when its Season 85 opens shop on June 27 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Management Committee chair Jose Mari Lacson of host San Beda yesterday announced they would hold most of their games at the government-owned Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila and the Philsports Arena in Pasig City as part of the new partnership.
“Except for basketball, all of our games would be staged at the PSC-owned facilities because the chairman agreed to support the league,” said Lacson referring to sports agency chair Harry Angping.
This means that nine of the 11 events in the NCAA calendar including first semester disciplines volleyball, chess and swimming will be played at the RMSC and the Philsports Arena.
The rest of the events—taekwondo, beach volleyball, football, table tennis, lawn tennis, centerpiece athletics and demonstration sport soft tennis—would also be held at these venues.
Opening day games pitting reigning three-peat champion San Beda against Mapua at 2 p.m., last year’s runner-up Jose Rizal versus Letran at 4 p.m. and Perpetual Help against San Sebastian at 6 p.m. will be held at the Big Dome.
With the exception of the bigger matches, the rest of the elimination round games, scheduled every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, are set at The Arena in San Juan.
This includes the June 29 showdowns pairing St. Benilde against guest team Angeles University Foundation at 2 p.m. and the other two guest squads Arellano U versus Emilio Aguinaldo College at 4 p.m.
All basketball games will be aired live on television giant ABS-CBN’s UHL channel Studio 23.
The cheerleading competition, for its part, will be staged either at the Big Dome or The Arena.
Lacson said the league initially preferred the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, its original home, as its venue for this year but the decades-old court lacks the air-conditioning and is currently undergoing major repairs.
“If you’re going to ask me, we love to hold our games at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum because of its really the NCAA’s original home. But its still under repair so maybe next year,” said Lacson, who thanked Angping for offering the venue.

O ayan guys natupad na yung matagal nating hinihingi sa Studio 23! Televised na ang Monday games!![]()
Sorry for being igonorant ha, pero may bayad po ba yung tickets para sa opening? magkano?
yup M-W-F na ang television coverage...
ncaa volleyball will be played sa rizal memorial...one good step na ito...
tama si sir theo NCAA volleyball is getting closer to UAAP volleyball inch by inch.
I always believed that the level of competition between the NCAA and the UAAP was always at the same level because SSC's volleyball program has proven that they can beat any team from the UAAP. Even the Beach Volley games prove that NC teams are not to be underestimated. The only teams that can beat the UAAP and NCAA teams are also from the Visayas and Mindanao schools.![]()
Baste definitely a super power ng volleyball sa country but who's next... ok count CSB as a legitimate contender pero sino na ang sunod?
PCU sana kaso wala na sila sa NCAA eh, Letran naman masyado ang hilaw.
