Something strange happened to my desktop onboard LAN.

Nagka-error na, it is using an invalid IP address. I think the OS generated its own DHCP instead of the router. I have been reading troubleshoot from the net and it seems to be a common problem with windows 7 64 bit. Yung ibang computer na connected sa router meron namang internet. Meron namang internet dati itong desktop ko.

Most of the problems here can be rectified by downloading new drivers for your laptop/motherboard. I think Windows7 will do the updating for you automatically when it updates which also includes new drivers for your hardware.

Ok, now I've solved my problem, Invalid IP address or unidentified network.

Since I've cloned the MAC address of the onboard LAN of my desktop into the router, the solution was to create a new MAC address for the onboard LAN.

hi, may problem yung desktop ko. pag ino-on ko siya naproprompt yung option to start using Normal mode, Safe mode etc... pero pag nakapili na ako, after a few minutes, bumabalik dun sa window na iyon( yung pipiliin mo kung Normal mode, safe Mode). ano kaya sa tingin niyo yung problema? salamat sa mga magrereply.

hi GrantJeffrey, thanks for the reply, pero na try ko na yan, yung start using safe mode tapos normal shutdown... yan yung palagi ko ginagawa pag nafluctuate yung powersource (na brownout)... pero ngayon, kahit na napili ko yung safe mode, bumabalik ulit dun sa Advance boot options. pag ganun ba software na ba yung problema? malas ko naman pag ganun kasi 7 mos ko palang ginagamit yung Windows 7 tapos nagloloko na

This is bad news for the company, as it has to continue paying for technical support while introducing Win 8.

Also, the last sentence of the excerpt should be noted carefully, esp. in light of Win 8.

It could be a hardware problem.

I'm an old time ASUS mobo user. I tried Gigabyte and MSI motherboards (only because I was looking for alternatives). Both gave me the same failing problem as yours where I boot to screen, then re-starts for no apparent reason, then gives me the boot to safe mode. This was the last few months of XP SP3 and early days of Win7 SP1. But when i switched back to ASUS, no more problems.
