vinyl tiles. it's kinda tacky but f you get the right design, they can look really good. but my primary reason would be because it allows you to cheaply replace your floor once you decide to renovate.

hello
tanong Lang po
magkano po ang isang 30X30cm na granite tiLe (pinakamurang kind)
we are renovating our house and yung nabili kong tiles ay shinny without knowing na madulas pala ito.. .
Ask ko lang if there's a way na para hindi na ito madulas? me nilalagay ba na liquid para dito?
Its already installed and hindi ko na pwede bakbakin kasi it will cost again money. . .
thanks

I just posted a question in another thread about bathroom tiles but I've been thinking about tiles for the rest of our house too. So far I could only find info/examples from Mariwasa and Machuca Tiles (website). I really like the look of Machuca tiles parang bagay sa bahay namin. I don't have any idea how much it will cost though. Does anyone here have an idea? What's the price range of their tiles vs Mariwasa? Ok ba ang Mariwasa tiles for the living areas/bedrooms?
Will this make the floor tacky (as in madikit)? Will the tiles still be easy to clean (ie, dust won't stick)? If I use this product will it require re-application after a while or will it last a long time? Is this ok to use for bathroom tiles too? Sorry daming tanong.I'll shut up now and wait for the answers...

How much ang granite tiles? And where is the cheapest warehouse to get them?
Can someone list down the tiles from most expensive to least expense. Para may idea kami.
Saka how about wood flooring for the 2nd floor? I've been looking at this german 4"-5" width wood planks - P2,000/sqm. Maganda ba and quality niyan and is it too expensive for wood flooring? What do you suggest?
Newbie ako when it comes to house construction.![]()
I don't think it has a rubbery consistency. Anyway, the promo displays shows two set of tiles with with a slate of water running on top of it. One tile has the treatment the other doesn't. You just run your finger on top of it and you can feel the one without the treatment is slippery and the other is not. I have no idea about the wear ability though. I do recall it's from a good brand name and I guess it's worth a try. Will this make the floor tacky (as in madikit)? Will the tiles still be easy to clean (ie, dust won't stick)? yung 16x16 na granite nasa Php100-150
I just went to Wilcon depot and Floor Center. Yung glossy na 60x60cm granite tiles cost around 250 to 300 sa Floor Center while sa Wilcon 358...
Ang question ko lang eh pag ba tumagal eh tunatagal ba ang pagka glossy nito. And in the end eh parang same na *** ng ordinary granite tiles?
Sulit ba mag granite o ceramic tiles na lang? tingin nyo? hehehe... nalilito na ko eh...
breakfree08, ako rin nga nalilito. what i'm apprehensive about granite and ceramic tiles is that --- what if medyo nabasa ang tiles, we might slip and fall over. siyempre minsan di naman natin mapapansin kung wet ang floor diba lalo na if we use the whilte floor tiles which are popular nowadays.
Eventually with a heavy foot traffic it will wear off for the Synthetic Granite tile. Pero that will take quite some time compare to ceramic tiles. Heres the thing with granite tiles, It's homogeneous.. Whats on the surface is whats beneath.. You can wear it down but pattern or the make wont change. Unlike a ceramic tile when you wore down the glaze and eventually the bisque then the color you will have a gray or bare looking tile and it its more prone to crack and stain when the glaze is gone.
The above questions kept me preoccupied for a year since we started house construction. This is what I've learned:
White walls get a mausoleum look w/ black granite-- consider black AND gray-veined white. Also starkly elegant. Kinder on furniture-- it makes its own statement already.
Antique hardwood planks & posts cost less than porcelain tile if you buy them by lot-- about Php 75-90 per board foot of 1"-2" thick narra, balayong, etc. Ask your architect re old structures that have been marked for destruction. Its not hard to get rid of the excess.
Machuca costs between Php 70-120 per 8" tile, depending upon whether you meet the minimum order quantity (100 pcs) and also the number of colors in your choice of tile.
Vigan tile is fairly cheap but hard to maintain. Consider quarrry tile, a dense unglazed terracotta tile. Not as much character at the start, but time will change that.
Large pebbles make good non-slip floors. Nice for baths-- but its the epoxy grout plus expert labor that puts a dent in your pocket.
Crazy-cut araal doesn't seem to attract molds like adobe floors for patios.
Pioneer Italira makes a homogenous fan mosaic tile that's also non-slip. They sell it set on mats, but you need a good mason to lay it. Classic look. Indoor or outdoor. Buy directly from their office.
I waited for the sales at La Europa & Dexterton before buying ceramic/porcelain tiles & would never consider going back w/o an ongoing sale-- price differences of up to 80%!
My cousin, a builder, had initially advised 12' x 12' white Eurotiles on all floors, and to just let the furnishings spell the mood. Of course, she also has adobe walls and hardwood panels in her house but, yes, she'd followed her own dictum re white tile floors. Her place is crammed with antique rugs/ furniture/ relics/ crystal-- literally all over-- so that one doesn't notice the floor at all. I'm not sure that it would've been cheaper if we'd taken her advice. No one is "Zen" in our family.
MAN! Thanks for the update. I've been wondering on the rates of the Machuca tiles kasi I'm living in an 19th Century house with that style of flooring [house is that old but Machuca tiles is probably less than a hundred years old go figure] We're hoping to renovate our kitchen and our first floor since we're going crazy on maintaining all that Vigan tiles that absorbs a lot of scuffs even when we drop tonloads of floorwax on it [the pack of dogs didn't help too] We'll probably end up with Machuca tiles as border designs while the rest would either be those China-made tiles or Mariwasa [which I believe is more durable than any China-made ones]
