I want to install vinyl tiles (diy) on plywood floor in an attic bedroom. Can I glue down the vinyl tiles directly on the plywood? Won't the plywood swell? For the bodega part I'm thinking of just painting the floor.

My garage flooring is cement and has oil stains and always mabuhangin. I'm thinking of painting it also to seal in the sand. Is this advisable? What is epoxy paint? rubberized paint?

Your suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

I realized I have to level the plywood seams first before applying vinyl planks. What floor leveling compound should I use?

    help

    hi,

trying to decide on flooring ng buong house. on a tight budget. nagpost na rin ako sa ibang thread.

    appreciate inputs:

    1. bedroom - which is better laminated wood flooring na mumurahin - what brand yung mura na quality? OR Vinyl Tiles (apo/kent - kasi halos kaprice na rin naman ng ceramic tiles) OR ceramic tiles nalang?

    3. Sala/ Kitchen - wala kasi itong division, mas ok ba kung isang type of flooring nalang sa pareho or pwede pag-ibahin? pwede na rin ceramic tiles? or what brand ang mura mura pero ok na laminated wood flooring

also, which brands of toilets/sinks ang ok for the bathroom na cheap pero quality naman, meaning sulit na? also sink for the kitchen, what type of wood po ba ang ginagamit sa kitchen cabinets and bedroom wardrobes?

hope someone will reply and help me decide, kumuha lang kasi kami ng foreman, maliit na house lang pero sana mapaganda ko ng patingin tingin lang sa pictures and patanong tanong sa forums and sa mga experts

    thanks!

Homogenous vinyl tiles are fine. Depende sa thickness din gawa kung high traffic or not. Ceramic tiles are good too specially kung granite tiles na homogenous also.

Using small tiles to make the room look larger will only work with a bathroom space with ample space. Meaning it makes standard size bathroom or space seems larger. If you have a small bathroom then you have a small bathroom, that's it. The best thing you can do with a small bathroom is to make it comfy and cozy.

    3. Sala/ Kitchen - wala kasi itong division, mas ok ba kung isang type of flooring nalang sa pareho or pwede pag-ibahin? pwede na rin ceramic tiles? or what brand ang mura mura pero ok na laminated wood flooring

High traffic area, baka yun mumurahin na laminated floor tumagal lang sayo ng 2 or 3 years evident na ang wear and tear. Go for homogenous tiles. Use different colors as pattern or use the large ones. I favor PERGO talaga kahit mahal kasi sila lang ang warranty. Kung hindi kaya tiles will do fine. Just buy if from FC Tile Centers or sa Wilcon. Local brand Mariwasa lang ang ok from Rey Marketing and nothing else.

also, which brands of toilets/sinks ang ok for the bathroom na cheap pero quality naman, meaning sulit na? also sink for the kitchen, what type of wood po ba ang ginagamit sa kitchen cabinets and bedroom wardrobes?

    2. light colored material of 8"x8" sized ceramic tiles. never the dark colors, unless gagawin mong pang-highlight yung dark colored tiles. tipong gawin mong 4"x8" tiles gitnang portion of your walls para hindi maging monotonous.

thank you for your reply. yung APO Mimicri series is not homogeneous vinyl, tama ba? type sana namin yun for our bedroom kasi mukhang wood flooring. which brand ng homogeneus vinyl tiles ang okay? definitely mas mahal ang homegeneous ceramic kaysa sa sa vinyl diba? how many years kaya ang itatagal nitong ganitong vinyl compared sa homogeneous ceramic? and compared sa ceramic na non-homogeneous?

Tawag dyan eh balagbag. Tiles are laid diagonally. It does break the monotony of the checkered pattern, pero ang isang mahalagang purpose nya para mga ibang contractor eh para di mahalata na wala sa asinta ang walls. To cover up the mis allignment.

Pag ginawang diagonal will it make the room look bigger? If the room is around 13sqm lang, which size ng tiles ang maganda and mas malaki tignan dun? 40x40 or 60x60? Same with 24sqm..

Para konti yung space between at malinis tignan? Tama ba?

Nagtingin na po kami kahapon sa balintawak. I'm leaning towards floor center tiles sa mga flooring kasi parang mas madami sila design dun and definitely mas mura ata kaysa mariwasa.

Well, it will may a room seems bigger but it will not make a small room as it is bigger.
Thw bigger the tile the harder it is to set it to slope towards the floor drain. There's a chance to have puddles of water. 8x8 floor tiles are ideal for bathrooms. Tiles doens't have to be square. There's 8x12 and .30x.60 for the walls.
