    Cebu Pacific now flies to Osaka, Japan

    Ayos to ah. Kung hindi lang mahirap kumuha ng VISA papuntang Japan. Tsk..

    Tingin ko, profitable naman ang route na ito for Cebu Pacific. Hindi ba marami rin naman tayong kababayan sa Japan? (I'm not sure sa Osaka though)

    Kamusta kaya ang loadfactor ng PAL flight from MNL-KIX and vice versa.

    Mahihirapan. PAL flights from Japan usually puno ang business class and not much ang economy. What more pa for an LCC. Also, landing rates at Kansai are really high, in fact, Air Canada is pulling out of Osaka.

    mas mabilis na ngayon kumuha ng japan visa. Since inabolish na rin naman ang mga japayuki (thank heavens), kailangan mo na lang magbayad sa agencies, isubmit ang requirements tapos sila na bahala. Di ka na pipili sa labas ng embassy katulad ng dati

    Hindi naman talaga problema ang airfare. Yung problema ang lodging at ang transpo. Pag hindi ka marunong mag japanese hopeless *** subway nila

    Kansai region is a better place to travel around compared to Tokyo (dahil crouded and mostly modern architectures ang makikita). If you are into old Japan, Kansai is one of the best regions to travel to.

    May mga cheap apartels din sa area. You can get a room for as low as $8/night, this is usually around Osaka area. It is easy to travel to for tourist (kahit d marunong ng japanese). Maraming tourist information centers around area.. and they offer brosures in english.
    They have station names writen in Roman letters too.. so d naman mahirap magcheck kung nasan na kayo.. pero, sympre, knowing basic Japanese wont hurt. it can help you still a lot!

    Suggested travel expense for a week in Kansai is
    $140 for your accomodation (a cheap $20/room)
    $500 for going around Kansai + food
    $100 for souveniers

    just my two cents..sana magenjoy ang iba na makakapunta ng Kansai!

    I'm looking at the wiki page of 5J and it seems like they used to fly to Niigata. Was this a regular service?

    totoo ba yan o exagg lang? kasi over the past four or five years, i've applied for a japan visa twice and ang mahirap lang yung pagpila. basically, if you have all the papers, then okay ka na. although minsan bastos pag natapat ka sa mayabang na pinoy clerk.

    the US visa thing is a different matter. after an hour of interview, i only got two weeks. yung sa japan ko, 3mos each.

    i've been there twice and mukhang madami-dami naman ang pasahero. A330 or A320 man yung plane (PAL) or 777 (thai), economy is at most half to 2/3 full, on all of my three or so flights. and usually pinoys.

    business is at least half full, but often almost full. they are often a mix of pinoys and japanese business people.

    so if ever, 5J's jam-packed A320s will be competing with the economy sections of PAL and thai.

    never ko pang nakita na puno ang TG between MNL and osaka yet they have kept flying that route all these years. so it must be quite profitable. i think malakas kita nila (both PR and TG) sa: 1) business passengers; 2) cargo space. both of those, wala sa 5J (A320s cannot load widebody containers). so good luck to them.

    At the same time, mahal ren ang landing rates sa Kansai. Good luck nga to them!

    Hmm wala rin ako masyadong alam e hehe. Mga 4 years na ako nagbabasa ng japanese blogs kaya medyo naembed na rin sa utak ko about tokyo. May lonely planet japan ako na gnagamit ng kapatid ko ok naman siya If you're planning to visit japan dont take a packaged tour, ripoff siya at hindi mo maeexperience *** japan the "japanese way" Napahamak na kami diyan, kaya maybe next year sariling ikot na lang ako

    hehehe ewan ko sa akin hindi ko trip yung Kansai area. If you want temples and old stuff you should go to China mas maganda. Ang japan kasi hnd pag ganun ka rich yung history hehe. I definitely recommend tokyo kasi diyan mo makikita yung essence ng modern japanese lifestyle, technologies and their witty creative ideas
