then we were so busy that night we forgot about it na. the girl from astoria called us and asked us to come over since our name has been listed na daw, sayang daw yung table reservation. so we went. they were accommodating naman but before we got to eat, another girl came up and told us that their GM would talk to us for a few minutes lang daw. and she left us with a pen and a survey form. so sige okay lang, we answered the sheet and when it was finished, the GM went to us. interviewed us a bit, about where we work, how much do i get, about travel etcetera. Then the GM told us that we can finally eat. So we ate.
Here's the catch: We were told after eating that we're invited for a preview of the rooms, since theyre newly opened daw, as they always say. So sige, early pa naman.
Then a guy called us in, pero not for viewing, the guy said na may iooffer lang daw *** samin since we love to travel daw and everything. todo marketing talaga. 10-min discussion lang daw. O sige ulit, kasi nakakaawa yung lalaki, IMHO, he doesnt look like the mktg exec that you'd be impressed. he looks untidy. but we let it go nalang since beach setting naman kasi, bka ganun lang ****..
So eto na yung discussion, about travel. literal. and they made us compute on amounts that is not feasible to our status. we're talking about hundreds of pesos here. i hoped he realized that we were really not interested and my husband is getting pissed na.
45 minutes later:
After the supposed-to-be-10-minute-discussion, finally, i got an important call and had to escape from the timeshare demonstration, the mktg guy called his GM and was told that we had to leave, and we really need to. The GM told us to give him our last 5 minutes. Okay.
He offered us the RCI Timeshare; Astoria Club Membership for a whopping 5 million pesos. Offered for that night lang "daw".
And so we fled.
Moral of the story: Presume that there is always something in exchange of a free food.
PS: we went back to the hotel in dire hunger.
