The Best Player of the Conference (BPC) title might be robbed again from Mark "The Spark" Caguioa after his absence in the Barangay Ginebra Kings semifinals match against the B-MEG Llamados.


Caguioa was sidelined of his right eye fracture during the team's quarterfinals match against the Llamados. Before that, Caguioa has been the top contender for the BPC award.

Caguioa had several chances to win the MVP plum but got the short end most of the time.

2004 - 05: Lost in the media voting to teammate Eric Menk. 2004 PBA All-Star Game: His output of 36 points would have won him the All-Star MVP but North All-Star team lost. 2006 - 07: He also led the league scoring but didn't make it to the finals and James Yap got the award. 2007 - 08: Led the league in statistical points but pulled up in the RP National Team and didn't finish the 2007 PBA season and Willie Miller stole the award. 2008 - 09: Returning from 1year absent in the PBA because of injury (tendonitis on both knees), he still led the league in scoring but he is only a runner up for the award behind his bestfriend and tandem partner Jayjay Helterbrand. 2010 - 11: Always a runner up in this season for BPC award and lost only via media votes and Jimmy Alapag got the MVP.

Barangay Ginebra's Mark "The Spark" Caguiao was named PBA's Most Valuable Player (MVP) for its 2011-2012 Season, besting out Powerade's Gary David, B-MEG's James Yap, and Petron's Arwind Santos.


Caguiao also won two Best Player of the Conference (BPC) awards for this season. He averaged 16.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 41 games for his team.
