For me, mas maganda mag-invest sa mutual funds... 5k lang din ang initial investment then minimum of 1k yung subsequent... sa citisec kasi naka-invest lang yung money mo sa iilang companies unlike sa MF mas diversified ang portfolio kasi naka-invest sa mas maraming companies...

so pwede bang regulat trading account ang iopen, tpos disiplinahin ang sarili na mag-cost averaging sa eip-recommended stocks? tpos pang-trade pa rin *** iba? o mag-open na lang ng two accounts? (1 eip, 1 regular)

  3. #43
you can do both eip & trading on the same account. . .

  4. #44
i suggest you open an eip account so that you will always be reminded of the stock you planned to buy. i did that actually but after six months i just ignore the eip reminders and move on to investing the way i wanted it to be

Question po. Possible bang malaman ng ibang tao kung kailan ka na nagstart sumali sa Virtual Tycoon ng Citiseconline? And tuwing what time nag-oopen *** stocks?

Hey guys, does CitisecOnline credit dividend payouts from your stocks to your trading account, or does the check get mailed to your address?

The dividend that you earn from the stocks that you purchase will automatically go or credited to your COL account. It will go to your cash balance after the pay out. You will receive a notification from the COL which is a notice of cash dividend to your email account.

ah cool thanks for the clarification mozilla. You have a COL account with them too? How is it so far?

I'm wondering if online brokers like Citisec have some kind of "insurance" sa mga stocks na binili ng isang investor? I mean, what if magsara ang isang online broker, what will happen to those investors who bought stocks on their behalf? Can they (investors) still claim that?

AFAIK dapat i-balik nila yun (usually in terms of stock certificate) sa investors since the broker only serves as a "keeper" of the stocks.

    Eto ata ang sagot dyan.

    As per COL:

All stockbrokers, including COL , are required by law to lodge or deposit the shares purchased in behalf of clients with the Philippine Depository & Trust Corporation (PDTC) as custodian. Hence, COL does not physically hold in its possession the shares of stocks purchased or owned by its clients. This sufficiently protects the client should anything happen to the broker.

When the company whose stocks you bought close down, you might still be paid if the company still has assets left for liquidation....siyempre mauuna creditors, preferred stocks, etc....

@ caucarl - yung stock certificate po ba sir eh kelangan pang i-request or hingin sa COL?

@ Ringgold - sir di ko po ma-gets yung sabi dun na safe yung stock, pero yung dineposit mo na pera is hindi. What does it mean po kaya? Thanks

Kapag na bankrupt ang broker mo, as a general rule, they have to liquidate all their properties and ensure a fair distribution of assets to the creditors/stakeholders.

Ayun! Kuha ko na po. Thanks po sir sa malinaw na pagpapaliwanag. Last question po, how can we claim those stocks (in our portfolio) that we bought.. thru PDTC po ba? Or we need another online broker to process the withdrawal of our stocks/shares?
