Just indicate in your RSVP the # of seats reserved in the invite of your particular guests. But it would be best if you get the names of those who'll arrive prior to the event so that you can consolidate those attendees in your master list.
Instances like if you invited a married couple, but under circumstances where a spouse cannot attend, the other spouse can tag along somebody to fill-up for the absent spouse - just as long as the number of reserved seats is met and will not exceed.
aside from indicating the number of seats reserved per invitee, it is more helpful to ask someone to call all the invitees personally (medyo magastos nga lang sa load-but very effective).. have that person verify the attendance of the invitee and at the same time remind the invitee of the number of person he/she could bring.. dapat hindi sila magkakakilala para the person calling could strongly object if the invitee insists on bringing more people
