Solo backpacking in Biri, Samar in June.
Accidental solo kasi my original travel buddy backed out. Ohwell.
anyone who has been to chiang mai (thailand)? i cant decide if ill spend my 7 days vacation there of venture out and go to laos?
Minsan lang sad especially pag long travel hours.
For me, mahaba na 7 days. Don't miss the Flight of the Gibbon zip-line experience; puede one day or half-day. Take also the Golden Triangle, Karen long-neck, elephant riding and orchid visit-- one day package tour ito. The remaining 3-4 days mo ay too short to visit Luang Prabang.
3 weeks South East Asia solo backpacking, to bring or not to bring laptop? What do you guys think?
I have never brought a laptop in all my trips. Bring a tablet / reliable wifi internet phone.
But it all boils down to how important your laptop is to you. If you need it to be able to work, bring it.
I would use it for communicating with my fam via skype or facebook. Booking hotels/ flights in case something goes wrong with my itinerary. Last minute research on the place, and transferring photos from the cam to save up on memory.
I also haven't brought a laptop in all my travels but only because I always travel with my family. But going solo I think it would be very helpful. I just don't know how much of a hassle it would be, will it be more a discomfort than an advantage?
Also, I don't have a tablet just an ipod touch with wifi which is very unreliable especially for booking tours/flights/hotels etc.
^ If you think it would be a big help to you then bring it or kung may good internet phone ka naman enough na yun.
Ako kasi sa lahat ng trip ko I don't bring laptop, gusto ko i enjoy yung trip + adventure din yung di mo alam yung pupuntahan! Hahaha
My suggestion is not to bring your laptop. For one thing its heavy and hassle especially if its a solo backpacking trip. Decide whether you relly need it. If you have a smartphone or an android phone i think you're good.
if you still cant decide, list down the pros and cons of bringing a laptop![]()
^Thanks, there are really numerous pros and cons in bringing a laptop. But I think it will be more of a hassle during the trip. I'm travelling 6 countries, I guess it will just be tiring and I might just regret it.
You can actually explore Macau without spending a dime for transportation.
What we did was when we arrived at the port, we took the free shuttle to Grand Lisboa Casino. From there, walking distance to Largo De Senado (Senado Square). After we finished with the heritage area, we walked back to Grand Lisboa and took the shuttle back to the port parking area. Then we transferred to a shuttle to Venetian Hotel. We explored Venetian and played slot machines for a while, then we crossed the street to the City of Dreams. From City of Dreams, may free shuttle rin pabalik sa port.
All the big casinos/hotels offer free shuttles, regardless if you're staying at the hotels or not. Just pick one and ride the bus. So all you have to do is find one casino/hotel na malapit dun sa gusto mo puntahan.
Yung pinay na nag-oofer mag-guide na naka-usap ng Dad ko was asking for HK$100.00 for her "assistance" (this happened while I was picking up a map from the tourist center... tapos hinila ko ang Dad ko palayo, kasi I already read about the free shuttles online).
