Red face Master of Science in Information and Communication Technology

    Hi,

Next enrolment po ay sa January 25 to 29 2011, just visit the web site "http://www.plm.edu.ph/colleges/gse.html" and also try to call them at GSE 527-1851.

" Ano ang main difference ng final project (for the M-IT) and the thesis (MS-IT)?

Balak ko kasi huwag na mag thesis. Paano ba mag work kung mag the thesis ka na? 6 units kasi yun. So parang mag e enroll ka pa ng two more terms or just 1 term?"

Yung difference po sa Master in IT sa MS IT is kung plan mo mo magtuloy ng Doctorate degree kailangan may thesis option ka pero kung habol mo lang ay diploma or not to take doctorate degree yung none thesis option kung kunin nyo. Actually maraming natatakot sa thesis option dahil mahirap daw (Bukod doon magastos talaga sya ) pero ang best option talaga is get a thesis option para ma challenge kayo kasi master's degree is not a type lang ng undergraduate na pumasok makinig at ipasa ang exam, you need to put a contrinution to body of knowledge in IT world. Kung kailang nyo ng topic I can help you guys....

Pag thesis option ka you can take Doctor in IT at AMA or St. Paul University Philippines kasi pag PhD in CS kukunin mo para kang uulit ng MS CS.

Hi guys can you help me decide on what option should I take? I am a nursing graduate and I don't know what to take. BSIT, Masters in IT or the certificate course in UP-ITTC. BSIT ako before for 2 years then i shifted to nursing and I want to continue my IT career, ito kasi talaga hilig ko... Pleas help me decide. Thanks!

I would recomend taking short courses in UP-ITTC then focus on one technology only and take certifications.
For example you want System side train Linux or Microsoft after that take certifications.
Or in Development side take Java or .NET then after the training take certifications.

Bro hindi mahala kung nakapasa ka sa certification ang importante e alam ko talaga yung technology na gusto mo kasi if you were in interview malalaman nila kung alam mo talaga yung position na inaapplayan mo, marami na kasi pasado ng certification pero walang alam sa actual na trabaho "Laking Test King or PassforSure lang" hehehe

I have been working in IT industry for more than 10 years maraming nursing graduate akong kasama na nasa IT rin wala sila degree ng IT pero alam nila yung technology or product na sino-support nila....

On the hardware side naman ay pwedeng mag-take ng short network and system admin. courses (maybe sa Meralco Foundation)

Thank you JigglesIV sa advice, I'll try to take the UP-ITTC sana makapasok. may idea ba kayo kung mahirap ang admission exam dun. kasi diba UP...

Hi guys, what do you think is the implication of course withdrawal? I am planning on bailing out of the course but I am way past the official course dropping so it's gonna reflect on my transcript of record.

  12. #52
For me none... It does not matter kung mag-drop ka o hindi ang importante e makatapos ka at may alam ka hindi graduate lang sa paper (I think you know what I mean... ). Sa industry kailangan is alam mo yung position na applyan mo at marunong ka makipag communicate specially languages... and good attitude towards co-workers...

Maganda curriculum ng IE sa DLSU....

hi guys..balak ko kaseng mag take ng masteral.. anu ba mgandang itake mba or mscs? in your opinion, anu mas lamang? tia

  15. #55
    ^^

Siguro ang dapat mong sagutin is kung ano yung reason mo why you want to go back to school.

Kung ano yung mas helpful sa plans mo for the future, yun ang dapat mong kunin.

  16. #56
Sino dito ang nakatapos na ng Master of IT in DLSU?

Any ideas on a final project?

If you're not an IT graduate who wants to enter the IT industry, take MSCS or MS IT.

If you are an IT graduate who wants to get a degree in management, take the MBA.

It is redundant to take MSCS, MSIT if you are already an IT graduate

Similarly it is redundant to take an MBA if you are a business graduate.

    Opinyon ko lang.

I would not recommend taking IE if you are specifically set to enter the IT industry. You will be taking a lot of calculus, physics and general engineering subjects in IE which are useless when you enter the IT workforce.

Mahirap at sayang lang pagod mo.

The effort and time could have better been spent learning programming and software development in a CS/IT course.

MSCS is an advanced degree that is meant to create researchers and academicians in the field. In fact, requirement nila na meron kang BS CS or BS IT para makapasok or 2 years work experience in the IT field. I don't think redundant sya since marami doong advanced topics na hindi dini-discuss sa isang undergrad setting. I have browsed in the curricula of BS and MS at ito ang napansin ko.

Diba?
