Waking up every morning and getting to work is simply hell. There are times I feel paralyzed by lingering questions such as "Why am I here?" and "What job will make me want to look forward to each day?". I easily get irritated with work-related things (which of course translates to "I hate this job!").
ive been there. my shift was 10pm. i get home around9am. watch tv eat bfast. sleep around 12. and dang! 1pm is a countdown to hell. i got a memory timer " 5 hours na lang and dang, need to prepare for worK" dumating sa point na naiiyak ako coz i had to go to work but ayoko na talaga. now i resigned. im 27 turning 28 next year. and still i feel so helpless. not achieving anything. though yeah i got a good title in a call center industry but im not happy..

I dread night time. That's when I usually mentally break down and cry. I question myself (and God) about why my life sucks like this. I feel a tad better afterwards but the fact remains it's still there. There are times (like once per year) that I don't come to work because I just don't feel like it. But I need the money for my needs.

I just wish I'd find out soon enough my rightful place under the sun.

I was thinking about having some sort of group for people who are undergoing this kind of experience. Self-help group ba iyon like AA? Meron na ba?

i guess we can start by finding the positive in these often hard facts:
~hate our job? boss? salary? hate the system??? heck, who doesnt?
~burned out? take a break, resign. nobody's too old for risks..
~no lovelife?? there's a bunch of friends waiting....
~no fulfillment in whatever? help out. be of good use to others.
~permanent boredom? go home, have some quality family time
~always wanting something else? always wanting to be someone else???? be REAL. make it happen.

    *sigh* easier said than done.

Let's get the opinion of other posters in this thread. Maybe we can work something out. I've always wanted to join some kind of self-help group. It's always reassuring to talk to other people who have basically the same experience and thoughts as you have.

I hope it's as easy as fixing one's perception. In the real world, it doesn't work that way, Einstein. It's too simplistic. This one's anything but simple.

I still remember the anti-smoking campaign in the school I work in. Posters of people with complications from smoking were all over the place, hoping to deter the number of HS students who smoke. Didn't work. Smoking is a complex issue not solved by merely showing pictures of people at their most horrible form.

cheers to that! actually, i think im becoming less of a QLV because now i can laugh at it, laugh at the things i regret, the relationships iv lost and im ok.. not literally ok but ok.. im fine by it. the pressure's still there but i jst dont care anymore. i resigned, still no plans of working, everyones commentng a lot, and i dont care. my lovelife's been completely washed out, im lonely and its ok. my realization: we just cant have it all. i would say im definitely bettr now, unlike before when each morning appeared to be dooms day. im fine with tornadoes wahahahah

that might be helpful, though i don't know if we can achieve this online. we can always talk about it, though, like what we're doing right now.

making something happen for us is really difficult. hirap maghanap ng opportunity. i don't want to be burdened by work, i want to find some other meaningful thing to do...but what? and where? maybe we can start by finding out what our passions are, then try to work on them. ako passion ko ang pagsusulat, hope to be able to put this passion in action someday.

That was just an idea. We'll see.

My passion is staying idle for long periods of time. I'm still figuring out which career can fully utilize this "passion". lol

Methinks if we think we have issues to sort out and resolve, then by all means, we should face our demons and slay them. Just conditioning yourself by thinking positive won't get the job done. IMO, it's too superficial when some problems are deeply-rooted. My two centavos.

I am IN the government. Seriously. But I do work my butt off. The bad thing is I'm not that thrilled anymore to do what I'm doing now. Too bad.

but thinking too much of trying to solve a problem when u dont even know where to begin with is way harder. nakakabaliw yan. hehehe but u know what? my alterego says pareho tayo. i can say giddy, positive things here and appear as if everythings okay but in reality, im not. im always thinking. and planning and planning and planning. and then sometimes, i get tired and just plan to sleep and continue planning the following day. hahahahaha plain crazy
