I also want to have the new Cash Back Mastercard. I already have the Cash Back Visa for several years and I'm happy with it but there are more perks associated with the Mastercard version. I just wish they would convert all Cash Back Visa cardholders to the new Mastercard version.

Most companies are promoting self-service facilities to cut back costs and to automate frequently accessed information such as outstanding balance, etc.

Still, I remember contacting through the regular phone hotline (via Cebu) a few months back because their Manila numbers are not working. I remember clearly being able to speak someone for the non-delivery of a supplementary card.

You can also send an inquiry via Citibank online. They respond quite fast and can even give you more detailed explanation.

indeed. i have no problems with my citibank cc. the perks they offer beat every one of the other credit cards i have. customer service is excellent. yung phone lang talaga.

speaking of non-delivery of a supplementary card, 4 months delay na sila. di ko na fina follow up. tinamad nako.

I heard they will be converting all Cash Back Visa cards to Mastercard and will offer 5% cash rebates on all supermarket purchases!

Sumulat ako sa kanila requesting a credit limit increase kahit 7 months pa lang ako. sabi ko maganda naman standing ko sa kanila kasi full payment ako lagi. sabi ko meron akong 2 card sa metrobank na parehas 64k ang limit at gusto kong tapatan nila yun. until now mga 2 weeks na ata wala pa silang reply. Oh well, malas lang nila, kasi pagkatapos kong bayaran yung last payment ko sa October ng camera, ipapadisconnect ko na card ko. Di nila ako pinagbigyan eh.

Lenient naman ang Citi when it comes to CL increase. You can request every 6 months kung ok ang credit record mo. In my case di na sila nagpadala ng confirmation. Napansin ko na lang sa online banking na na-doble CL ko.

Would like more info re Citibank card coz Im a bit confused with all the different cards available, dont know which one to get....

1. Which card type has better or more priveleges, Mastercard or Visa? Does it make a difference? Do they waive annual fees, after the first year?

2. Are the discounts or promos specific to card type? For example, is it possible to avail of Mercury discount with a Classic Visa card? Or it's just for Mercury card?

3. Are the rewards and point system applicable to all card types?

4. Will they approve an application (thru online submission) with no proof of income (ITR, COE) but with recent credit card billing statement (with 6 digit CL) from other banks in good standing? I also dont have bank account with Citibank.

I'll probably be using the card more for Mercury rebates but since this is only until Sept...will probably use it for Rewards and Points exchanges. Thank you to all who can help.

To answer your questios:

1. For the classic cards, same lang ang features ng MasterCard and VISA. For specialty cards, each one is available only as either MasterCard or VISA. For example, the Cash Back is (now) available as MasterCard only, while PremiereMiles and Mercury Drug cards are only available as VISA. Qualification for annual fee waiver after the first year depends on many factors. You can call after a year if you are qualified or what options you have in order to qualify.

2-3. Discounts and rewards programs are specific for each card type. For example, the Mercury Drug VISA card does not earn points. You can check out each card's features thru CitiBank's website. There are certain features that are common to all cards, such as purchase protection, delayed flight/lost luggage protection, etc. Again, you will find all these info on their website.

I tried redeeming citibank's promo sa mercury pero 100 pesos lang binibigay nila. Any similar experience to this?

disregard my previous post above.. iyong 200 peso rebate pala 2 receipts pala iyon worth 1.5k each receipt so you get 200 peso rebate.

btw, I just talked to one of their phone officer and the minimum spending per year to waive the annuel fee is Php120,000.00 or 10k per month for their Classic Silver Mastercard.
