recently when i availed Citibank's call for cash, dinoble nila credit limit ko. pero in my opinion, mas generous magbigay ng credit limit ang HSBC

Depende kasi sa paggamit ng card yun. Sa HSBC, kapag lagi mo ginagamit card mo, mataas yung increase sa CL mo.

^natry mo na na ba tumawag sa hotline nila? anung sabi? baka kelangan mo magpadala sa kanila ng payslip or your latest ITR... kase sa pagkakaalam ko eh hindi kuripot magbigay ng credit limit ang citibank...

someone called me offering another citibank credit card and it actually seemed like a shady call. i entertained it nonetheless. they knew my credit card details but asked me a couple of questions to verify my identity. i was skeptic but i gave my info anyway. turns out, it's legit. maybe some people just don't know how to sound credible on the phone. BUT JUST TO BE SURE, do not give away your details. i was lucky it was legit.

also, be very observant on what questions your card company usually asks you. my mother-in-law got a phonecall from someone saying she was with Chase. She was giving her details until the caller asked for the 3 digits at the back of her card. she hung up right away and called the bank. and indeed, it was a scammer who called. she just found it weird because Chase never asked for those 3 digits.

Hi.. just need to ask this.. I applied for Citibank Visa last May 2010 and i was approved, they said that i will receive the card within 3 days.. but i have not received it until now, it's been a week..

should i be worried? (well, i am..)

i already have a BDO Amex, and can't use it on online transaction, badly needed the Citibank Visa that i applied and was approved on..

yes i suppose you should, because basically, you have a card going around out there (worst case) with your name tagged on it, and worse that card has a huge amount of money tagged on it (pre-approved debt=cred limit) now to be on the RATIONAL SIDE...the assumption is hindi pa activated yun, so you may be safe, unless...well...you can imagine naman.

the more reasonable dilemma is the COMMODITY CALLED TIME, and OPPORTUNITY LOSS, you apparently needed the card, and any day you don't have it, sayang. then there's the ANNUAL FEE, basically you pay Php 5-20 a day for the use of the card. so that's it sayang din.

try contacting citibank, do you have a reference number and or person? that will mitigate matters more in your favor.

ok.. i guess so, il try to contact Citibank by tomorrow.. just so weird, i've heard some got their cards within 2-4 days if it's Citibank.. :-(

thanks though.. i'm badly needing a Visa card now..

if you already have a bdo card, and it's in good standing, why not request for a visa card? i'm sure bdo would be happy to accomodate you, the credit card competition is rather intense, and oh don't feel too bad, Citibank is rather notorious for these red tape and hassles, chances are, your info and papers got lost in the vast jungle of red tape and bureacratic bull.

yeah, try to have your AMEX be converted to VISA.
try calling Citibank if they can communicate with the courier and resend the card at your branch and have it picked-up.

kakatext lang nila sa akin, approved daw ang cc ko. ano ba ang dapat kong i-expect sa kanilang promos and services?

by the way, bpi edge cc user ako and medyo maximized ko ang promos ng bpi. hehe.

every single purchase of 1500php (and up) will entitle you to a "rebate" of 100php for cinema (SM, ayala cinemas - and other cinemas, check list), 100php rebate from mercury drug purchases, 100php rebate from rustans dept store, rustan's supermarket, shopwise supermarket, shell fuel (and other stuff) purchases.
