East West Bank credit card? for me, malabo ang application and criteria nila. some EWB credit card agents called me since last year pa, siguro mga 6 times na. every time, sinasabi nila na chosen daw ako to get their credit card because i have this gold card and that gold card already, and that i am a good payer, blah blah blah... ayun, sa awa ng diyos, hanggang ngayon wala pa rin akong EWB credit card

Ako madali naman na-approve. Yun first credit card ko eh. Kahit na-decline na ako sa ibang bangko kasi wala akong ITR. I just applied online through their website and after 4 months I received a "pre-approved" card.

nag CI na kanina sa akin yung HSBC sana ma-approve ako, sa lahat ng credit card na in-applyan ko eto lang ang nag CI sa akin, paano ko malalaman kung approve ako? sabi kasi sa akin nung kausap ko kailangan ko raw magpakita ng valid ID kapag dumating yung courier pero sabi niya for evaluation pa daw yung application ko, ang gulo!

I think HSBC and BDO offer credit cards for OFWs because in their application forms I saw a little box which you would check if you are a foreigner or an OFW. Not 100% sure though. Are you presently employed abroad? If you are not, you could try opening a secured credit card at HSBC by depositing at least 12.5k which would be kept in a time-deposit account for 1 year and your credit limit will be 10k. You could start building a credit history from there by using the card for purchasing a few small items and paying them in full each month. After a year of responsible credit usage and timely payments, you could request the bank to release your deposit and you would still be able to keep the card as a regular, unsecured credit card.

Don't forget that an income tax return from the BIR is important for all loan/credit applications. The tax return should reflect your declared income.

The BSP also does randomized compliance checks on credit card accounts. Once an account is selected the client will be asked to submit the latest ITR.

Baka naman matagal-tagal ka ng card holder. BSP Circular 472 was only issued Feb. 2, 2005. BSP Circular 549 requiring annual submission of ITRs was only issued Oct. 9, 2006.

I got my pre-approved East West Bank CC last August 2007 but until now hindi ko pa ni activate kasi I already have 2 exiting CCs. The funny thing is I never applied for one, bigla nalang dumating sa bahay kaya nagulat ako! Lately while I was running through my bill statements, nakita ko ulit sya. True that they are one of the few that has the lowest interest rates. Im actually thinking of activating it this month. I guess having a good credit standing helps a lot

Card holder ako since May 2007. I'm happy with EWB CC. 2.75% sila compared sa iba na may 3.50%
