nakuuu ok sana ang exam at interview sa accenture madali lang pero after 2mos. i failed in the bootcamp training as Software Testers.
I too would like to shift my career into an IT field more specifically in Networking. I am currently on my early 30's and an ECE graduate but unfortunately set the wrong foot to another field (Human Resources).
How did I get to this field? Maybe I had this mistake of letting fate drag me to where I should go instead of me dictating my own fate. After graduation, I was hired in one of the premier manufacturing industry as an Engineer and stayed there for a year. I felt bored due to the routinary type of job, not to mention the 4-2 shifting schedules while working for 12 hours a day. I turned to academe where I teach Engineering subjects, I stayed there for 5 semesters. I then decided to accept a job in an Overseas Recruitment agency as an IT Officer where I am in charge of creating databases using MS Access for different departments, provides assistance in PC Hardware and Software troubleshooting and maintenance and basic networking. After 3 years I was asked by the management if I could take a position in the recruitment where they gave me an increase in my salary of which I gladly accepted. After another 2 years I left the company as I cannot see any growth in my career. I was hired then as a Call Center Agent but felt like the job's not for me and left after 2 months. I was then contacted by an Oil & Gas Construction Company for a Human Resource job and that's where I am today.
Few months ago, I had this uncomfortable feeling as I felt that I do not value my job anymore. It was more fun for me way back when I was still an IT guy. This made me decide to undergo training in the networking field. And now, I felt very much serious about this. I would like to be in the networking field for the rest of my career.
I was hoping that after my training, I get this chance to shift my career in the networking field. In God's will.![]()
@zeroneux saan ka po nag training i would like to undergo trainings po sana as well..
yes, with a possiblity but i would like to contest the possibility.
I am an ECE grad also, even non-ECE are also getting the cisco position even chemichal engineers as long as you are good.
If you want to build a career in IT forget about your pride of being licensed ECE, you will going to eat that when you enter IT. ECE license don't matter in IT. Mostly of my officemates are license but they did not renew theirs because it is useless.
The best of luck to you. Just show your passion and in time you can have that IT position.
Be careful also with the use of the word "passion". Passion means "actively" pursuing your ambition and not "passively". Actively means doing something even without others tell you to do it example are hobbies. Let me site an example here is an example sentence, I hope you could get the idea -- "One of my hobby is stocks trading, I research, read news and do my own forecast even without others telling me to do so, I also do things for stocks plainly because I want to do it. During some free time I converse with fellow stocks traders" Now that is passion.
I hope that piece of advise help you, some managers can ask you that.
cheers.
Cisco Networking is a bit a mainstream nowadays. Almost all schools offering IT/engineering courses have Cisco on their curriculum. If you really want to enter in this field you need an experience OR spot that chance of companies when they are hiring fresh grad for a networking position OR get CISCO certifications. While waiting for the chance you can try other job somewhat related to Networking like Linux/Unix system administrator ( some networking position require you to have skills in shell scripting ) then go back to Networking then certainly they will hire you. The Unix/Linux-Cisco combo is IMBA.!! hehe
gusto ko rin magshift ng career, i've been working 4yrs in a bank, pero resigned na ko, looking for an IT related work particularly networking. Kaso i dont have background sa pc troubleshooting, pero masaya ko pag ako nag aayos ng pc b4 sa office namen. Banking & finance pala course ko. Is there any trainings for networking job?
for shifters to IT you can take ITDC program of UP Diliman, it's a one yr certificate in IT program.
Hello guys. I'm a fresh IT graduate a former nursing student and it is true na sobrang daming opportunities for ITs ngayun saka malaki din talaga ang sweldo. Dun kase sa Alma Mater ko 3 Majors pede mo pagpilian either Software Engineering(developing applications, systems this is my Major), Networking or Multimedia(in our school more on Designs, rendering, Video editing etc.).
Saka hinde din madali ang pagiging IT akala ko nung mag i-IT ako dahil mahilig ako maglaro ng computer games saka babad lage ako sa harap ng computer yun pala puro programming at Flow charts, algorithms na minsan talaga nakakafrustrate at nakakasakit ng ulo well para sakin kase hinde naman ako magaling mag program.
Another thing to remember is dapat marami kang alam na programming languages mula sa basic HTML, CSS, saka mga PHP, VB, C#, C++ etc at dapat maka "master: ka ng one or two programming languages.
Truth be told I am not very good in programming but I was hired in my current company because I am an IT grad that gives me an edge to the other applicants for a job that requires minimal IT skills.
I truly believe na kaya talaga maturuan sarili mo. I have a former classmate who dropped out of school and directly went to the IT field and is a much much better programmer than I am today. I say if you really really want it then go for it!
Mga possible jobs for IT: Web Designer, Programmer, Graphic and Web Design Artist, Mobile Apps Developer, Quality Tester, IT head dami pa possibilities are endless.
Good Luck mga sir!
Hello everyone! This thread was really nice. Pero kahit papaano, I've landed a job in Gaming Industry and worked there for almost 5 years and was able to achieved an Asst. Manager position to one of our game products pero wala na rin ako dun recently lang and now on the job hunt.
IT Training Solutions (www.facebook.com/mnetsolutions?ref=ts&fref=ts) (www.mnet-it.com/index.html). Yung CCNA Bootcamp nila eh walang pre-requisite at ang training is from Zero Knowledge. Mas mura din.
