    I saw the thread you created, you paid on your due date so naturalmente your ADB equals your entire previous balance. If you paid earlier than your due date, the computation would have been different. Lahat ng bangko ganon, kahit sa ibang bansa. Universal yan.

    Read and understand the terms and conditions kasi.

    1. Adjusted Balance Method
    2. Average Daily Balance Method
    3. Previous Balance Method.

    Pinaka-favorable sa credit card holders eh yung 1 at yung pinaka favorable sa banko eh yung Previous Balance method. Modified lang yung sa Allied.

    Ang ayaw ko lang sa methods 2 and 3 ay yung sisingilin ka ng interest for the balances that you have paid for.

    Alam ko po yung terms and conditions dahil paulit-ulit kong binasa. Hindi malinaw doon na sisingilin ka ng interest for debts that have been paid. Kung sana nilagay nila doon na "We will impose finance charges for paid balances if not paid in full" eh di walang problema.

    Yung general concept naman kasi ng credit card is pauutangin ka nila for 30 days tapos if you don't pay saka magkakaroon ng finance charge. Ang nangyayari kasi, hindi nila nililinaw na mawawala yung 30 days na yun. Doble kita yung banko kasi aside from transaction fees kumita pa sila sa finance charge.

    For sure, marami ang magugulat na ganito pala ang sistema. Ito dapat ang hindi inaallow ng DTI kasi it is deceptive. Ito po ang tinatawag na Trailing Interest. Dapat ipagbawal yang trailing interest. Sa US, naging issue na rin yan.

    Actually there are six methods. Pardon me for generalizing but my basis for doing that is that of the 7 credit cards that I am currently maintaining, all of them use the Average Daily Balance Method and when I said that "lahat ng bangko ay ganoon", I was referring to the method of how these banks compute the ADB. May iba kasi kayong paraan na sinasabi.

    I do not know of any credit card that uses other methods but if ABC does use Previous Balance, it is still unfair to call them "madaya" because first and foremost I am sure that it is clearly stated in their Terms and Conditions. Hindi na nila kailangang ilagay na;

    dahil una, that would be very informal at pangalawa, redundant na yon dahil kung naka-indicate na doon na "Finance charges will be imposed on Previous Balance based on cardholder's SOA" ay dapat understood n'yo na yon. Hindi naman po yan rocket science.

    Second, Previous Balance has it's advantages over Average Daily Balance. If your previous balance is small and suddenly you made a rather huge purchase, Average Daily Balance Method would cost you more interest charges than Previous Balance Method, lalo na kung Two-Cycle Average Daily Balance Method yan (as the case with most locally-issued credit cards). Hindi po tamang sabihin n'yo na napakadaya at napaka-unfair ng ABC base lang sa scenario n'yo. It's a case to case basis.

    Gaya ng nauna ko nang sinabi, doon sa binigay ninyong scenario na nag-partial payment kayo on your due date, kung i-a-apply po natin dyan ang Average Daily Balance Method ay halos ganun din ang magiging finance charge n'yo. Since magaling naman pala kayo mag-research siguro naman na-research n'yo na rin kung paano i-compute ang ADB.

    Sa mga sinabi n'yo po kasi na;

    ay parang pinapalabas nyo na dapat ang gamitin na method ng mga bangko ay Ending Balance Method. Lahat po tayo ay ganoon sana ang gustong mangyari pero, gaya uli ng una kong sinabi, wala po tayong bangkong ganoon.

    Pero salamat na rin po sa pag-inform sa amin na Previous Balance Method ang gamit ng ABC. In fact, some cardholders, like revolvers who only pay minimum and still keep using their credit cards, may find this method more beneficial to them than other banks' Two-Cycle Average Daily Balance Method.
