Hi freelancer_babe, thanks for the reply! I'm a doctor so I hope that works in my favor. =) And thanks for the warning, hehe it's actually the reason why I haven't gotten a cc all these years (kahit extension cards from my parents ayoko kasi takot ako), but I figured mahirap din na walang credit history at all. :P

    How true.

But then I read the other thread that you have plans of going abroad, so building a credit history here is something you cannot take abroad. You have to start from scratch again in building credit history on that new country of your choice. If that's another reason of wanting a credit card.

You can buy plane tickets with a debit card, by the way.

Have no plan of living elsewhere kahit ang gulo sa Pilipinas haha

Just trying to figure out how to use my (still nonexistent) credit card regularly. I think I'm sticking to Smart Money and EPS for shopping.

    Cool! Enjoying life eh?

Yep, a credit card will definitely be a good way to build credit history and would qualify you for big ticket loans later (if you have established good credit).

Tapos pag nagbayad, yung priority e yung regular purchase tapos sunod lang dun ang installment purchases. So kung may 10k credit ako, 5k regular then 5k installment, babayaran ko muna yung full amount ng regular bago mo mabayaran yung sa installment. Tama ba ito? Anung kaibahan sa BPI at nung SIP nila? pwede ka pa rin bang gamitin yung card for installment na offered ng store? sorry, newbie ako talaga when it comes to credit card. nag-apply na ako sa BPI at naghihintay na lang ako ng feedback from them.

If I'm not mistaken, the regular credit limit and SIP(installment) limit of BPI credit cards used to be separated from each other but their total is your actual credit limit. However, that has changed with BPI "fusing" your regular and SIP limit into one. With regards to your query on the payments, you should pay your outstanding balance in full and on time. For your regular purchases, pay them in full. For your SIP purchases, you will be charged for the monthly amortization until you have paid the full amount.

Example: Juan's credit limit is 30,000 pesos. If he buys a laptop worth Php15,000 @ Php 1250/month (SIP), and a USB worth 1,000 (regular/straight) purchase. His outstanding balance is 16,000. On his due date, he has to pay 1,000 for the USB and 1,250 for the laptop. He has to pay the 1,250 for the next 12months to pay off the balance.

hey guys, toll free po ba *** 89-100 nila if tatawagan by cellphone?

  7. #3327
I just received BPI Classic card and BPI Blue Mastercard = 15k for both card. I was wondering if they share the same credit limit? or 15k each yung dalawang card. Ang pangit naman if ever Shared credit limit tapos magbabayad ako ng annual fees for both cards.. Do you have any idea po?

  8. #3328
Still waiting for my card.pero wala pa din..I think declined na sya kasi di na sila tumawag ulit

Di ako makatawag sa 89100 gamit ang Smart. Not sure with Globe though. I have to always use a landline.

I think I have asked this sa hotline noon.

I wonder why get two cards with such small difference? Halos pareho ang perks ng dalawa except that the blue mastercard has more perks/is an upgrade of the red classic. I would actually understand more kung yung isa classic tapos yung isa Petron or Delta Skymiles because the rewards from both cards are different.

And yes, you pay annual fees for each card.

Call the BPI hotline for the status. 89 100 for Manila and 1 800 188 89 100 if you are outside of the metro.

Kapag mobile hindi dapat yung 89-100. Dapat 89 10000. Sa phonebook ko naka-save sya as +6328910000, kapag gamit celphone (was very convenient nung nagloko dati terminal ng cashier at ni-check ko kung natransmit ba or not).

  11. #3331
Wala ako pinasa na COE, payslip and ITR.

AFAIK hindi toll free when you use cp.and 8910000 is preferably used if your outside the country.

^ It's best talaga pala to visit a BPI branch na lang to inquire/fix things - sa sobrang dami ng BPI branches there really no excuse not to go to one. Or just use another person's landline. In these situations may silbi pa rin pala ang landline - for toll free calls.

  18. #3338

  19. #3339
Yes, the two cards share one limit, but have separate annual fees. In your case it might still make sense to have the blue MC, because the red classic card may not be accepted by all merchants.

  20. #3340
^ yep. yung blue mastercard kasi is an upgrade of your red classic card.

mas maganda kung magkaiba ang rewards ng cards na kinuha mo sa kanila, like getting blue mastercard for rewards points and petron card for gas rebates. but still, the credit limit is shared and you pay two annual fees if these are not waived.

parang di na ata rin inooffer ng BPI yung red ngayon. wala na sa BPI card website nila. limited naman kasi ang gamit ng red card nila. having that mastercard label pa rin kasi goes a long way.
