I think "Break It Down Again" was TFF's last song for me. I never liked anything after that. I tried to pero wala talaga.

Nagustuhan ko tong band na to dahil sa tv series na Psych

Albums na gusto ko ay yung Songs from the Big Chair at yung Elemental.

The very first TFF track that was actually played on mainstream radio was "Change" from "The Hurting" album back in 1984. Curiously, the band already released their second album "Songs From the Big Chair" when "Change" was already given airtime here in Manila. Since this was the time when other new wave bands were generating a lot of fan interest (Depeche Mode, Talk Talk, Real Life, Flock of Seagulls, Human League, etc were getting huge attention), a lot of their tracks from their first album came almost two years delayed. "Pale Shelter" and "Mad World" followed up the success of "Change" although curiously, "Mad World" was actually released as early as 1982. "The Way You Are," one of the more favored tracks by hardcore new wave fans back then, didn't get as much airtime on the mainstream radio stations but was regularly aired over WXB 102. Another track (and a personal favorite of mine), "Suffer The Children," believe it or not, was released as early as 1981. Unfortunately, it didn't get any particular airtime back then when tracks from Devo, the B-52's, Rick Springfield, etc were dominating the local radio playlist.

They eventually became a Manila favorite and a disco circuit favorite when they released their second album. "Shout" was the first hit from that album although "Mother's Talk" was actually released earlier in 1984 as a single. Their meteoric rise was further enhanced with the release of party fave "Everybody Wants To Rule The World." And surprisingly, a slow track, "Head Over Heels" equally found success in the club scene - obviously generated by the hoopla that the band brought.

With no internet and local recording companies being responsible for determining what track will be sent over to the different local radio stations, their first album didn't generate as much success as it deserved. I personally felt that "The Hurting" album was technically better and more creative than the more commercial "Songs From The Big Chair" LP. But because the local recording company who released Epic Records in the Philippines - Octo Arts - didn't catch up and only discovered how huge this band was in late 1984. TFF was so big already that when they released their first single "Shout" from their 2nd album, it peaked all the way to #1 in the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

I went to the first concert and IT WAS AWESOME! Araneta was full, and damn, the fans really sang almost all of the songs! It's always fun to watch with real fans, makes the experience so much more awesome. Still deciding if I should watch again...

Not sure though if Curt Smith will be flying in. I believe only Roland Orzabal's coming over. Still for confirmation though, but the sure thing is that he'll be coming back on August.

When the two broke up, Orzabal did "Break It Down Again" as he carried the TFF label. Smith, going solo, had the 1993 hit "Calling Out" which came out almost the same time as "Break It Down Again."

I saw them live on August 10. Even with GA seats it was an amazing experience. I was standing during "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" (first song), but had to sit down (grudgingly) afterwards because the people sitting behind us were seated. When the intro to "Head Over Heels" came on, I couldn't help it; I jumped to my feet and screamed my head off . Luckily, everyone around us did the same. Hope they do come back, as Curt promised.
