    Your Addiction

it used to be buying original cds from cd warehouse. bands mostly from britain which stores like oddyssey don't carry. and did i ever pay handsomely during those pre-pirated years (e.g. average price was P 450 for an imported cd. the most expensive i bought was i think P 750.) with the advent of p2p downloading, i've stopped buying audio cds since about 7 years ago.

these days, it's downloading tv series and the occasional movies. i use btmon.com, sumotorrent.com and piratebay.org. have downloaded these splendid series:

it's always sunny in philadelphia (zany fun)
curb your enthusiasm (must watch! from hbo productions)
30 rock (i literally laugh every 5 or 10 seconds)
    spin city (i missed it)
beyond belief (90s fact or fiction show. 5 mini stories per episode)
    top gear
    carnivale (hbo)
    in treatment (hbo)
    mad tv
hammer house of horror (british horror show circa 80s)
tales of the unexpected (british tv)
    boston legal
    how i met your mother
a haunting (discovery channel ghost stories)

oh, sorry that my addiction isn't as exciting as grass or ice, hehehe.

@threadstarter: You have time to watch all those? wow...

How come you missed "The Office" and "Family Guy". Those are great shows too, not to mention hilarious and funny. Yung "Beyond Belief", pinapalabas yan sa channel 5 dati. I like the portion in the end where they let you guess which of those stories they showed are true and which are made up.

As of me, well the only things (wholesome things) I can think of right now that I am addicted to are the ff:

    1. Consuming anything that has caffeine in it. Yeah I know, I should do something about it.

    2. The History Channel - being able to watch two great epidoes are all it took to get me hooked to the channel.

    3. Having "healthy" arguments with people in online forums.

    4. Of course, there's my favorate junk food of all time.... "VCut". . I was addicted to it when I was a kid and I think I still am until now.

    5. Mani (pulutan, preferably Growers ang brand, hehe). Ako ay isang taong mahilig kumain ng mani, all shapes and sizes, you name it...I've tasted it.

^^*in reference to my previous post*

ewwww...I felt like I just answered the "Life's Simple Pleasures" thread too..... Well it's still different in a way, an addiction is still not exactly the same as a simple pleasure.

    Sorry for the off topic

Dati Tekken eh. Ngayon medyo na-outgrow ko na. Pero pinipilahan ko pa rin Tekken 6 when I can.

I'm also a sucker for chocolate.

Tapos whatever my LSS is at the moment... yun na, I can listen to it for hours on loop. Sa ngayon, I'm into Nine Inch Nails' Everyday Is Exactly The Same & this annoying German/Russian song that I can't seem to shake off.

I also like sitcoms, & comic strips, & looking for funny stuff online, like crazy conversation flows & topics.

I also like books & magazines, & I'm trying not to acquire any more dahil fire hazard na sobra kwarto ko.

Tapos yung kras ko ngayon wahaha sa workplace yiiii!

actually, p2p is still a gray area even in the u.s. napster was shut down because unlike p2p sites like kazaa/limewire/etc., it's a site that carries gigabytes upon gigabytes of unlicensed material (esp. music) free for anyone to copy via the net. p2p, however, is, in principle, quite the same as lending your neighbor your audio or video cd and allowing him to reproduce a copy in his pc. it's between peer to peer (thus the term p2p), or person to person. of course, if you actually multiply copies and sell it in the open market, that is an entirely different thing.

so until it is actually outlawed in black and white, p2p will generally be unhampered and enjoyed by anyone who has a pc and access to cyberspace. without a guilty conscience. at least i know i do.

we all have different tastes. in my case, i didn't find THE OFFICE all that hilarious (no offense). not the original u.k. version, much less the american version. but i've heard some rave reviews on FAMILY GUY and i think i'll look into it one of these days.

actually, i have been watching lots of downloaded stuff these days because jack tv was cut off by the rotten and greedy lopezes who own skycable. that's a long story, but it certainly made me miss shows like 'it's always sunny in philadelphia' and mad tv. luckily, the internet is a bounty of such delights if you have the access and time to download them.

what i forgot to add in my list above is the hbo produced FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS. anyone who is into music will surely love this comedy series. it's brilliant! for more info, look at hbo.com and click on that series' title on the left menu. incidentally, seeing the hbo productions on their website literally give me directions on which to explore next. yipeeee!

Oo naman! Ang dami na! Ang pinakamalaki so far ay yung 2 trips. One is trip for two to Toronto and the other one is trip for 4 to Las Vegas. Included ang airfare, accomodation and pocket money. Yung mga maliliit yung katulad ng advance screening movie tickets (di ko na nga na-claim yung iba), Nintendo DS, Roots watch, Revlon hair dryer, cash, DVDs, perfumes, cosmetics, clothes, gift cheques, music download, kitchen appliances, digital camera, DVD video camera at kung anu-ano pa. Basta over $10K na lahat and still growing.

Sweeptakes and contest, same lang ang ibig sabihin. Lotto di pa ako nanalo kasi di ako tumataya. Ayoko pag hindi free ang entry
