I was the one who said that. And yes, you can do it, and I've posted examples. Quite easily for some chars, too.

A note though, I haven't played Diablo III, but I enjoyed (and am still enjoying) Diablo II immensely, so I don't mean to diss on anything. I am just reading on this thread to help me decide whether to get this game or not, and the more I read it just seems more and more to me this is not the spiritual successor to Diablo II I had hoped it to be.

I'm curious, could you make, say a melee wizard or a caster barbarian in D3? I mean in the same way that in Diablo II you could make caster, fighter, and hybrid variations of every class.

^ The wolf companion of DH is utterly useless in Inferno. Aside from it's very very weak attack, it dies in 1-hit. Defeats the purpose of having a non-tree-type skill architecture because definitely no one will be using that skill in Inferno.

nope.

you can't make a caster barb in d3.

there are no more normal attacks on d3.

every attack you make is a skill now.

when a wizard uses a bow.

he doesn't need arrows.

he just uses it like a wand.

you could make a melee wizard just because he has a melee -ranged skill.

but you can't make a sword slashing melee wizard.

you can read the d3 forums to see how the diablo ii crowd is reactig.

much more entertaining IMHO.

usually sa weapon at yung damage sa source mo pag wiz, yun ang alam ko, sa akin mababa lang din kasi kulang pa ako sa int items and damage sa source ko, wand ko nasa 800 plus lang..

then pag bibili ka nang items, wag ka bibili nang items na plus to fire or physical and so on, kunin mo lagi all resit, meron doon sa AH na drop down, piliin mo ang all resist makukuha mo yan sinasabi nya..

as of right now madalas ko bilhin sa gamit ay plus 50 lang, kasi pag mga 60 pataas na million na din ang halaga, mahalaga lang kahit paano me resist ka para maka ipon ka nang gold or makapag hunt ka nang items sa act1 man lang..

Tama po ito.. lahat po ng items ko may all resist.. yung stats po ng wiz ko full buffs po yan with magic weapon buffs and enery armor na may +40% all resists.. nakabili ko ng weapon 947dps int vit attack speed so currently around 36k na DPS ko.. kung gusto mo tumaas DPS try mo po maghanap ng plus attack speed may additional damage po sya... mataas na din po ang Int ko pagbibili ka ng items try mo search lagi int vit all resists and more than 100 po lagi ang int and 50+ ang resistance =)

Melee Wiz here, and yep, as stubborn said, unless I ran out of Arcane Power , weapons are just used for their DPS and stats.

Though at Level 60 all skills are accesible and changeable at anytime, therefore having multiple builds in one single character instead of creating 1 build for 1 character like in Diablo2

D3 has lost picking your skills and your attributes. Attributes are now automatically get points when you level. Skills you pick only 6. So no more points to pump into skills. I do miss this in Diablo 3.

They could have made this all work like D&D. The more you increase your attribute, the more points you need to increase it. Same with Skills. Oh well, I still like bashing monsters and selling items on the RMAH.

You can actually do normal attacks in D3 (unequip a skill for the primary/secondary mouse buttons) but it's quite pointless as normal skills (those that don't cost resource) are always better.

im going around hell collecting tome of jewelcrafting and tome of secrets sa act 1 right now. i,m trying to get perfect star topazes.. paid 1M for that tome. lol. 780k yung radiant... thinking of getting it narin habang mura and konti lang ang naghahanap...

fota yung amethyst and emerald tomes ang mamahal. (critical hits and vitality kasi)

ako meron, pero magkasama na sa isang item ang gold at magic find, so sa akin ay..

Gold = 128%
Magic = 148%
Life = 14k
DPS= 28k w/ SS
DPS = 17k w/o SS

wala pang valor, mababa lang pero ok na din, pero sana kaya ko mob sa act 2 or 3, well hindi ko pa na try, pero baka try ko, asar lang ako doon sa nawawala, lalo pa mababa lang HP nang DH ko, gumagawa ako nang MF sa wiz ko, pero hindi na sila magkasama, try ko din kung kaya, pero yung mga mura lang kinukuha ko sa AH, kasi para kahit benta ko lang sa NPC after ko gamitin ok lang....

im gonna try a new wizard build later...

instead of the arcane orb, ang secondary weapon ko will be yung 20 casting cost na blizzard... makes sense, the orb is 35magic points. i will use teleport and icearmour the same time din.

icearmour, teleport, magic weapon/ magic armour, hydra then signature spell (prolly the electricute ala dark sidious) and blizzard.

on paper it looks solid.. kahit daw naka ice armour ka, pag nabawasan ng 15% mag rereset daw ang counter ng teleport. (with the illusionist passive skill)... gonna try that later. lol.

and put teleport sa right click button... makes sense din

tutal nasa hell ako right now, i can practice with it for a bit.

i don't like yung teleport na nagiging duplicate. kasi laging nasa likod yung tao mo pag nag duplicate. laging nahahabol pag fast ang kalaban mo.

Go to Blizzard's D3 forums. There are players offering legitimate jewelcrafting services for a reasonable fee. (some even for free)

And really, to make your life easier, why not just buy flawless squares from the AH? That's the most efficient way to craft end-game gems.
