    hi raincloud,

ganda ng kitchen mo ah,do you mind sharing kung how much yung ginastos mo for the cabinets alone?ano ba ginawa nyo labor and materials yung kontrata nyo dun sa carpenter o labor lang kyo n supply ng matl?magkano kaya inabott?

saan po pala yung soler?any directions?

I went to Soler myself and bought the racks and door handles for the cabinets. Manong Carpenter of Bacoor Cavite, also did the closets in the bedrooms (we just guided him on what we wanted to happen). It's small 'cos the real action is always in the dirty kitchen.
What are the cabinets doors made of? What are your countertops? What is that to the left of the kitchen area--a service door leading to the dirty area outside (i guess, since there's a window curtain on the foreground.) Your kitchen is very small, but it looks efficiently laid out. And at the price you mentioned, very nice indeed.

I symphatize w/ homeowners (wifeys) who are helplessly longing to have a modular kitchen but can't afford it. I also went through canvassing from 5 makers of modular kitchen as small as mine, including a proposal from my own Architect at 60k <<-- lowest in my canvass. I spent between 30 to 40k, w/ my own design (idea from several proposals I saw) but tailor-fitted to my needs (height and width hehe). My Archi says my small kitchen is not standard and that's ok with me, afterall, I'm the one who will use it, who cares about std height of the cabinets. Cabinet doors are made of plywood 3/4. Pati pala, hinges mura din sa Soler.

Counter-top is granite (China lang po) which I had custom-made sa Talaba, Bacoor (Bonnart yata 'yung name nung shop). Another beauty there is I get to pay my hardware in credit terms. I didn't shell-out big cash upfront. Yes I bought the materials (w/ my husband of course) - my choice (kitchen ko yata 'yun) and then asked the carpenter who was originally hired by the Contractor for the carpentry works of my house re-modelling (eh marunong pala sa cabinet).

In fairness, mabait at mahusay po ang Archi ko, no space left unused sa entire haus (pero medyo mahal lang proposals hehe, baka kase pexer din pala).

Soler po is in Binondo, naikot ko po 'yun, nakita ko pa 'yung Aranque Market, cos I also bought lights at Soler.

Yep, on the left is the service door leading to my pink dirty kitchen

moral of the story: Ask the Wifey not the Archi! hehe

    closet pix (simple lang talaga):

there are many reasons that people have stopped making plywood cabinets now. one major reason is that they're anay food. while MDFs and Particle Boards arent.

another reason is the FINISH. paint finishes for the cabinets is teh old now.

and another good reason is... renovation reasons. masmadaling tanggalin ang modular cabinets come renovation time.

but plywoods have its charms din..

    Sample Work...During Assembly..
Im still looking for the picture when it was totally completed. To be posted soon.

    Modular Type Kitchen
Material: MDF board 18mm Thick Moisture Resistance
    Countertop: Synthetic Granite
Hardware: Blum Hinges with Blumotion, Blum Tandem Boxes
    Handle: Solid Stainless Steel

I know the layout is not perfect, due to space limitation, so we designed it modular type.

Soon this kitchen will be transfer to a new and much bigger space.
Minor modification only. That's the advantage of having a modular kitchen.

    ^ i'd say 150,000 easy.

i see 10 drawers right there. multiply by 6,000. that's already 60,000 for the drawers alone without the blumotion hinges.

synthetic granite, i'm not for it. sa states pa nga MAS MURA ang synthetic granite (aka Quartz Stone) over natural granite.

how can something created by man stand up against something that's been here even before teh age of teh dinozes??

Hindi po namin kitchen yan. I wish ganyan yun kitchen namin.
Kami po yun gumawa ng kitchen.

Yun countertop L-type which is 60cm(depth) 340cm (long side diretso kse siya up to the roll up shutter) x220cm (kitchen sink part)
    Island countertop (90cm x 150cm).

Cost of the kitchen around 500K.
It's a complete package. Design, Installation & supply of all materials like MDF Boards (Moisture Resistance), blum hardwares (tandem boxes, blum hinges), Aluminum Roll-up shutter, Pantry Pull-out System, Solid Stainless Steel handle, Stainless Steel kitchen organizers, kitchen sinks, faucets, Elba cooktop, Elba island range hood, countertop, etc.

Yun ibang part sa kitchen hindi pa na-install, like yun aluminum cabinet door with frosted glass and lift-up mechanism, oven, 3/8" gaphic-coated glass above the back splash of countertop.

MDF boards were all laminated color wengue. Backing of cabinet carcass is made of GI sheet GA#16 painted metallic silver as per owner request.

Share na rin ako ng kitchen namin that was completed last dec.

how I wish I had the budget to use Blum...
budget kasi ng mom in law ko is 150k lang.

unahan ko na kayo mag critic

When I started, I planned on having a simple contemporary italian kitchen.

I was shocked when I woke up. nagka identity crisis na yung kitchen at mas agaw attention pa yung mga kung anu ano sa taas... well, at least I am the only one here to have an italian-tuscan kitchen

I wanted a horizontally-oriented cabinets but settled with this due to budget constraints...
