Yes, they have a lot of things to improve. I noticed that they are only relying on Matute. Lopez barely get the ball, our game against Perpetual tomorrow is crucial.

Hard to tell, but the Altas is strongly favored to win, with their two imports plus the 3 points shooting of Vidal etal. Bombers will have a lot of catching up, to make things worst, we don't have enough big men to defend the paint and get the rebounds. I'll be not surprised if we lose tomorrow by huge margin.

What happened with the recruitment program? It seems Jose Rizal is going back as the NCAA whipping boys.

The bad side of things for the Heavy Bombers is they are the worst team in terms of fouls committed, number of trips of their opponents to the stripe as compared to their own, number of turnovers committed, and their opponents so far had more points off turnovers that they converted themselves, despite of employing the back court press they are known for.

So many concerns needed to be addressed, as they will have a hard time against the taller teams should they keep on performing like they have done so as a team in the past three games.

But, my fellow JRU alumni, please don't get me wrong. I'm behind the bombers, of course. I just want to be realistic, as I wish the Bombers can work on improving on their weaknesses that will probably be exposed once they get to play the taller and more talented teams.

    Go Bombers!

celtics, whipping boys? far from it. malayo pa kakainin niyong bigas sa eac at lycevm bago kayo maging whipping boys ulit

Well, they proved me wrong last game. Perpetual had an off night yesterday and Jose Rizal capitalizes it. Credit also to the Heavy Bombers defense against Altas. It's still a tough season ahead for JRU, the last time I saw their turn overs was at 17 and you cannot do that with Benilde, Letran and San Beda. These teams knows how to run and capitalizes in every opponent mistakes.

Don't count out Lyceum, Jose Rizal's previous matches with the Pirates are very close. I hope Meneses can map out a good game plan for their game on Thursday.

Congratulations Heavy and Light Bombers. Keep it up and be ready on our next game. God bless.

    Welcome Back Mabuhay Ka!

Guys, any idea about our team's next game schedule and which team is the opponent? I think the original schedule for JRU was changed due to the recent typhoon. Anyway, I'll try to find this out. Will check the revised schedule to other sources.

Okay guys, I got the games schedule for tomorrow, July 26, 2012. The scheds are: First Game - UPHSD vs. MIT, Second Game - JRU vs. LPU. This probably a tough one for our team. As mentioned by celtics (in his earlier post), we can't count out the Lyceum Pirates, as this team knows how to beat the Heavy Bombers. Hope we (our team) are now prepared this time. Good luck Bombers.

An ugly win, but still a win. Too many turnovers commited by both teams, we got lucky our bench was better compared from the Pirates. As mentioned by Coach Gregorio and Aaron Atayde on TV, our team lacks the stability and consistency. If that was San Beda, Letran or even Benilde, the outcome might be different.

We still lack a good ball handler. Almario always dribbled the ball and leave his fellow players clueless. Worst is he'll pass the ball with a 6 or 4 seconds left in the shot clock. Camasura is still raw, his timing and decision making is also questionable. What Meneses should do is to develop their outside shots. Matute can provide long range shot, but aside from him there's no other player close in his percentage. Villarias and Almario must step up and so are the rest of the team connecting their perimeter shots. That will allow our not so BIG men to play inside the paint.

So far, we are lucky to have 5 wins, but that will be tested against Benilde, San Beda and Letran. Those won games are far behind the plays of the three team mentioned. Again, we are just lucky...

Maybe we can have a EB and have our inputs for our team. Also, we can share our NCAA memories with each other.

yeah it's ok with me, how about in MOA mas malapit sakin, hehehe...

regarding our team, pansin kolang medyo mahina talaga ang recruitment ni Coach Vergel compared to Coach Vanguardia and also bakit ba di tayo nakakarecruit ng medyo malalaki na Center...

  12. #4232
Pare that's also my view. Although, I have no idea what they are doing to improve the team. In fairness to Vanguardia, he was able to steer our team to higher heights and restored respect among competitors.

If you will expand our view, we need a lot of solid players. Our point guard position is too soft plus sila rin ang pumupukol sa labas. We also don't have legit SF, PF and Center for the team. That's why I always emphasized if we will compete against San Sebastian, San Beda, Letran, Perpetual and even Benilde, we are in deep trouble. The Heavy Bombers are just so lucky with all their wins. Their opponent are giving them the victory. I am being true to myself and realistic...I'll support our team all the way, but I lost my faith how they will close and win the game.

Schedule na natin ang EB, let's wait for the others din.

Yep, I agree with all your comments and observation celtics. It is true that there are lot of things that need to be improved for our team (i.e., both on offense and on defense). Nonetheless, I am already contented with our team this season compared to previous. Remember, we have strong line-ups before but what happened? At the end, we still fell short in the finals. Perhaps this lucky wins of our not-so-strong Heavy Bombers team can lead us again in the NCAA finals. Who knows?

    Keep the faith Rizalians!

Guys, good luck to our team later. I’ll try if I can catch the game live.

I waited for almost 2-hours but the waiting was worthwhile. Our Heavy Bombers refused to go home without a win. The lucky-win continues.

    Congrats Heavy Bombers.

Same here and I respect your view for our team. Still for me it's still a long way to go, upcoming games with San Beda and Letran is very difficult for Jose Rizal.

Agree celtics, it’s still a long way to go for the Heavy Bombers. I believe they are in to it and they will give their best for all the succeeding games.

Let’s continue our support to the Jose Rizal University Heavy and Light Bombers.

Magaling yan. Pero more of a scorer. He's around 5'10. Mabilis at slasher. Nagkataon lang na madami kami PGs kaya lumipat.
