    Cool

I don't think pundit is a troll. He/she has been a long time member here in PEX and though he/she has very strong opinions, I have yet to see a post of his/hers, that outrightly bashes anyone. That is why I reply to pundit's post with due respect and not disrespect. Harsh, maybe, but never disrespectul.

Truth be told, I have agreed with pundit on several occassions over the years just as I have differed with his/her opinions also but did not feel strongly enough to post my agreement or disagreement. In this case above, I just wanted to bring out the facts surrounding the RP Youth players' not playing in their respective leagues this season.

Also, it may surprise everyone that I AGREE WITH PUNDIT that the DLSU Green Archers will struggle this season just to get into the Final Four. Remember, 7 of the 8 teams in the UAAP, IMHO, are contenders for a Final Four slot and I even see a tie or even a triple tie for the fourth and final slot. That is how even the quality of competitions are in the UAAP this year. If you ask who I think is not a contender for a Final Four slot, with all due respect to my UP friends, I don't think their team is prepared to make a Final Four run. Maybe in two years when their very versatile Fil-Am has already fulfilled his residency requirements. Aren't those residency requirements for Filipinos who, by no choice of theirs, grew up abroad just a pain?!? I do believe, however, that UP will pull some upsets and that those upsets will help determine the Final Four cast.

Lastly, allow me to say that UE has a better chance of winning the UAAP Championship this year than they had last year, the 14-0 streak notwithstanding. This year's team is an all-natural Dindo team which he has molded since each player started playing for UE. No carry overs or transferees from other coaches or teams. All solid Dindo picks who have his system in their blood. Sure, they may not replicate their 14-0 record but they are stronger as a core team than any other team. My opinion only, of course.

O ayan ha. Si GA na nagsabi, baka naman di pa kayo maniwala.

Anyway, I'd like to say one last piece on this matter. Setting aside the semantics of who requested what, the fact is that Franz feels that it is best for his players to focus 100% on their RP youth stint. That in itself is subject to debate, but I am willing to leave it at that.

What I am in disagreeement with is the fact that the entire coaching staff, led by Franz, is not required to render the same sacrifice. I think it is but fair that if all the players are required to sacrifice for the good of the country, the team's leadership should do no less.

If Sandy would take the first step in sacrificing then maybe i can join your cause in asking for the entire coaching staff to follow suit. Sandy is not even being asked by Ateneo to take a leave of absence as assistant coach of the blue eagles so i guess it's no big deal for them. Just let it be.

    Cool

Pundit has already made his/her point. Let's leave it at that and get back to the topic of this thread.

For everyone's information, DLSU submitted the other day 17 names to the Eligibility Committee for them to screen. Among the 17 names are 6 homegrown players - 3 from LSGH and 3 from DLS-Z. Note, however, not all the 'homegrown' players played in the Junior tournaments of the UAAP or the NCAA. The reason why 17 names were submitted is that a lot of our players are playing hurt or are nursing injuries. The coaching staff will make the decision on the final 16 only on the day that all schools are to submit their final rosters.

Jvee does not need surgery however, he has to undergo extensive therapy which I heard is painful at times.

To think Tiger won that tournament in 91 holes and won with an ACL injury and all!!! Simply amazing.

    Back to topic.

Looks like a big blow to DLSU's campaign. How long will the therapy be? Will he be 100 percent on July?

That is why DLSU submitted 17 names to the Eligibility Committee. With all our injured players, we still don't know who will make the 16 players for this season. The coaching staff will make their decision on the last day all schools are to submit their final rosters.

So that means JV is not yet sure of a slot? Too bad for the GA.

Lets just wait and see, ok

    ^

Looks like the whole school has a week or a week and a half of waiting left. Last time I saw JV, he was still wearing that black protective thing (I don't know what it's called) while talking to Ford Arao.

That golf tournament?!! That just happens to be the US open at torrey pines!

OT: Im sure DLSU submitted a 17 man roster to make sure they have enough players to compete and be competitive in S71...just in case the injured players especially Casio is not 100%. The injured ones are healing well thanks to this much needed rest. Thats it for now.

Strange to ask one of the assistants, and not the head coach, to take the first step on behalf of the entire coaching staff. That's unusual to say the least. And that's a very weird way of arguing.

my point is why are you asking for franz to sacrifice his post as head coach of DLSU when no one else is doing so including your beloved school. Ateneo and MVP himself have been quiet about the whole thing, that means it's ok with them. Actually it's just you who's making a big fuss over it. If you really want the coaching staff to make the sacrifice then write an open letter to the SBP or to MVP himself and vent out your frustrations. Remember, the SBP and MVP are the employers of franz and co and im sure if his bosses tell him to concentrate on the youth team he will be more than willing to oblige. Madaling kausap si franz. Good Luck! Sulat na!!!
