change of status..please help.

My friend was secretly married last january, the problem is she'll be taking board exam this august, she wanted to ask if its ok daw if she will put single as her status sa board exam application form. Or if she write daw married, does she need to change her surname? Baka daw kasi kapag pumasa sya ang ilagay ng prc sa newspaper is her husbands surname, instead of her..Kaya she badly need some advice. Thanks mga sis.

if thats the case, they should have waited it out muna bago nagpakasal...
