may interview and exam ako tomorrow for Admin. Assistan post sa SM Investment Corp. Maganda kaya dito? Im presently working as a Reservations Agent sa isang five star hotel sa Makati and my basic pay is 14K per month after 6 months of regularization, it was increased to 15k and after one year it was increased to 16k at madalas din mag offer ng OT, pero hindi sapilitan ang OT, kung gusto mo lang naman. So minsan umaabot ng 9k kada cut-off or 18K per month ang take home pay ko...HMO wise, Intellicare ***, up to 400K per illness per year ang coverage kasama dependents ng employee. Other benefits, 13th month pay, profit sharing na minimum of 10k per employee (twice a year), SL and VL conversions, perfect attendance bonus (1,000 PHP per month ), clothing allowance 2,000 PHP per month, Transportation allowance 2,000 PHP per month at Rice allowance 1,000 PHP per month. Un *** maganda dun. Ang panget lang, masyado ang politics, matagal ang promotion at kelanagan sipsisp ka sa mga boss para ma promote ka agad. Routinary din ang job, nakakabagot at marami din feeling mayari ng office (sigasigaan)...Anyways, may exam and interview din ako sa BPI as Phonebanking Specialist nextweek, maganda rin kaya dito? Nursing graduate pala ako...

i must say maganda ang benefits mo jan...compared here sa SMIC...i suggest na i-try mo muna sa BPI..dahil mas maganda ang benefits nila...konti lang kasi ang benefits ng SMIC....

uhm...i suggest na maghanap ka muna sa iba while waiting...kasi depende yan kung may department talaga na nangangailangan ng tao...
yung 2 friend ko kasi before ganyan din ang situation..yung isa tinawagan after 1 week...then yung isa naman..hindi na tinawagan kahit na sinabing tatawagan na lang for final interview...

Ok, fresh na fresh ito.

My application took like more than a month before ako na deploy.

through jobstreet, HRA from Corp Office (MOA), contacted me and did the first screening.

* First screening - all about yung nasa resume mo, there are some personal questions din kung me anak ka, ka live in, boyfriend... hmmm ano pa ba? basta lahat ng maiisip nilang itanong, itatanong nila sayo.

Kung makapasa ka, papa examin ka na agad.

* Exams - Gamit ang SSS No mo (important sa kanila yun kasi that's their way to check sa Oracle if you were employed sa SM, kasi di sila nag rerehire ng dating empleyado ng SM) , you will use that as Login ID, and mag eexam ka ng Language, Comprehension at Math. (Kung me HRA man nagpapa exam, tip ko na rin ito sa inyo) Actually, mahirap yung math kasi bano talaga ako sa Math, pero since walang bantay, nag calculator ako!

Tapos, isang Personality test lang, na click click lang naman - madali lang.

* HR Officer - coconfirm lang yung mga naitanong na sayo ni HRA. Actually, feeling ko nuon, binebenta nya sa akin yung position at company eh. Ewan ko, baka ganuon lang talaga siya.


* HR Manager - a week after the initial screening and exam, interview with the HR Manager - me mga kasabay na rin who are also vying with the position. She was very nice - and pleasant (also the HRA and HR Officer naman was pleasant) - hindi nakakaba. Dito na ang tawaran ng sweldo. Tip ko lang, be firm with your asking salary, kasi hindi kuripot ang SM magpasweldo. Sa ibang bagay sila kuripot but in terms of salary, hindi naman.

* Panel with the functional head - its either VP or SAVP,depende kung saang BU (Branch Unit )ka mapupunta. That's another week.

After a week, tatawag na yung Branch kung saan ka ma aassign.

* Medical and Physical Exam - yes, yan muna bago ang Job Offer o ang requirements. Ok na rin yan kasi kung hindi ka makapasa, (mahigpit sila sa Medical, kelangan ni UTI wala ka, o kaya walang sira ni isa ang ipin, or hindi ka naopera kahit nuong panahon pa ng kopong kopong or else, bagsak ka) hindi ka muna nakakuha ng requirements diba.

**tip lang, be always on time. And wag kang maarte kasi maski manager and position mo, pag nasa medical ka pa lang, may frisking ka pa rin, at maghihintay ka pa rin sa labas lang ng clinic. May mga offices na walang waiting area, kaya nakatunghod ka lang na magbakante ang Clinic bago ka maasikaso.

*Requirements - duguan ito! Napakarami! at kailangan complete or else hindi ka madedeploy. Lahat ng requirements, lahat ng Certificate of Employment mo dapat me kopya ka. Lahat ng clearances, meron ka dapat.

* Job Offer na! - well, sa probationary, walang masyadong benefits since proby ka pa lang, pero pag na regular ka naman - fair naman yung benefits nilang 16SL 16VL na convertible to cash, E-Card kung parang me credit card ka na (depende sa position mo) pwede mong gamitin, and salary deduction to 4 pays, Incentive kapag naka quota ang branch mo. HMO na 100k (for yourself only) and if magmember ka ng SLA (Cooperative), depends on your position, you can qualify for car or house loan.


Then, schedule ka na for deployment. Congrats! Welcome to SM ka na!

Heto naman yung nasa loob na ako.

Magugulat ka talaga, ang selling area, maganda talaga, bongga diba? Maganda ang lighting's, maaliwalas at kumportable.

Sa loob ng offices, hmmm... paano ko ba i dedescribe? well, hindi masyado maaliwalas. Most of the branches, they only use stairs to come up to the office. Most of the offices, nasa 3rd floor. So 3 plights of stairs and aakyatin mo. So it is not really good for people who were tamad sa pag akyat ng hagdan.

Hindi maganda ang office ng Dept Store. Not everyone has computer. Not all departments has printer. Sa isang department, nag se share lang ang mga empleyado sa computers nila - and mind you, they are not using MS office, they are using Lotus Pro. Yes, 2012 na po, Lotus pa rin po ang gamit nila.


Luma na ang mga gamit nila. Hindi ko alam kung bakit di sila nagpapalit. Basta siguro gumagana pa, eh gagamitin, at pag nasira papagawa na lang sa in house electrician or maintenance nila.

They don't have internet access, maski ang mga branch managers. I felt bad nga sa mga issued na laptops and cellphones, where I felt, hindi bagay sa mga bossing namin.

If you are supervisors below, it is super strict talaga. You are frisked everytime you come in and out of the office. And for anyone, na hindi kayang mahiwalay ang cellphone sa katawan nila, this company is not for you. Whether you are Manager (Unless Senior Manager), you have to leave your cellphone in your locker.


You swiped in a chronolog 6x a day. There's in button and out button. You have to very careful to which button you will gonna press, or else, IVR ka.

Transpo allowance is low. If you need to stay in a hotel, do not expect much where they will check you in.

The people - hmmm, I have issues though. I felt that SM hired people who are very competitive, so you would expect that most people are like that in a way. So hindi masyadong light ang atmosphere sa loob, since its retail - they meet deadlines and all - and add pa yung quota. Medyo tight and stressed out ang mga tao, since most of the branches, kulang sa plantilla, they would have to double their efforts to meet their deliverables.


Sa unang araw, mapapagod ang paa mo kakalibot sa selling area. What I realized, iba pala ang feeling kapag lumilibot ka sa dept store, ng nagsa shopping (window shopping, hehe) kaysa nag wowork ka. Pero, it will take sometime, masasanay ka rin, especially kung babae ka na na nakaheels na lumibot sa selling area, at akyat panaog sa mga hagdan. Ok rin naman, nakakapayat - excercise talaga. Cardio and leg tone in one

Sa babae, make up is a must talaga, All the time kahit nasa back office ka lang. Pero, ok lang yan, since para maganda ka all the time kahit na pagod ka na, hindi pa rin halata.

Sa SM, 10 to 7 ang pasok ko. Monday to Saturday. As soon as I arrived home, its time to sleep na. Sa mga gusto pang mag lovelife, or kahit anong life after work, ipagpaliban nyo muna. Sa ikabubuti nyo rin naman yun eh.


I love SM. Masarap mag work sa SM kahit na tipid sa resources. Kahit na mataas ang stress duon at competitive ang mga tao, ok lang. Iba ang training sa SM. Gagamitin nila lahat ng alam mo, at maski di mo alam, marerealize mo na alam mo pala. Ang lakas nilang magpa grow ng tao as a person and professionally.

So for SM Employee aspirants, if you want to learn, be a better person, push your self to the limit in exchange to become a better you in the future, try nyo po. Be part of the best retail store in the Asia Pacific, and even wala na kayo sa SM in the future, you will always be proud to be have been part of the company.

From what I have seen to him, he's always going to other branches in the Philippines (Cebu, Davao, etc). He is also going to other countries like China. For the compensation, I think na malaki yung salary nya talaga and yung benefits.

Okay naman yung interview, but I got the feeling na nagdidiscourage sya about it if you're not 100% dedicated to work for them, like how the workload is really heavy etc.

Hi I was working at SM Retail as an IT Specialist (Officer Level). My starting salary was 25k. I was newly grad pa nung naka pasok ako dito. Maganda benefits

1. Free SM Advantage Card
2. 200k HMO
3. OT allowance (non-taxable OT)
4. up to 10% discount on selected SM Department Store nationwide
5. Grduaduity Pay for atleast 5 years employees of SM (the more you na mas matagal ang stay mas malaki makukuha mo, take note: hindi pa kasama yung back pay mo dito pag umalis ka na nakaatleast 5 yrs ka)
6. (Early) Retirement plan/bonus - they will give u millions of cash (depending on the number of years of ur stay) atleast 15 yrs. you can retire as early as 45y/o (supervisor level) 50 y/o (officer level)
7. 32 day leaves (vacation and sick leaves) in a year
8. 13 1/2 month bonus
9. Annual salary raise (up to 5k for officer level) xempre the higher the position mas mataas ang raise yearly.

I'm into career growth kasi since I got certifications and I didn't use it at SM that's why I left the company. Pro maganda tlaga dito.

The next day, they contacted me and said i have to take an online exam. Language, Comprehension and Math. Mejo madali *** naman. After that they called me and asked me for my SSS number for validation daw.
Nag tanong narin ako tungkol sa status ng application ko. Sabi ng HR na kausap ko may kelangan pa daw na dlawang pirma (di ko alam sino pa *** kelangan pumirma) pero for hiring na daw *** status ko. Tatawag nlng daw sila for update.

It's already been a while pero *** parin kumokontak skin. Tanong ko *** kung gano sila katagal bago mag update? inaabot ba **** ng weeks?

Ask ko *** din if totoo ba na requirement din nila *** highschool diploma? *** kasi ako nun eh. Di ko alam kung saan na un. Eh, ang layo pa ng probinsya ko para un *** ang balikan. Sana nmn wag na sila mag hanap nun. College diploma nlng tska TOR.

Lastly, talga bang mahigpit sila sa medical? Kasi mejo may problem ako sa hemorroids. well actually di **** **** problem kasi di halos di ko nmn ** nararamdaman. Pero natatakot ako bka un *** ika bagsak ko. :/

College and TOR mo lang ang kailangan nila.

Photocopy lang, pero you need to present the original. HS Diploma are for ranks na nag apply na HS Grad lang.

Mahigpit sila sa Medical, believe me. Pero I would suggest wag mo na sabihin na may hemorroids ka kasi hindi na uso sa SM ang patutuwarin o pahuhubarin so hindi rin naman nila malalaman o makikita yan!
