Ya, you can just roam around the city on the first day of your arrival. I can suggest some hostels, but I didn't stay with any coz I stayed at a friend's place.

Maybe you can try Tune Hotels, medyo malayo but they have free shuttle service to/from the city centre.

Or try The Beach Lodge which is located right at the city centre. When I was looking for a place to stay, I was considering this because of the positive feedback. You can just google it for booking and more info.

Hi, marlene. KK is not accessible by bus coming from Singapore, but is accessible by plane. Check out AirAsia, Tigeraiways or Malaysia Airlines for flight booking.

parang wala masyado magawa dito... am i right or wrong?

how does manukan island compare to boracay?

any thing special with their markets? any local food i need to try?

  8. #48
Actually, mas maganda pa rin ang Bora. Pero okay ang coral reefs dito, sarap mag-snorkel. And on top of that, the airfare is so cheap (cheaper than going to Bora).

With food? In Manukan Island, they have this buffet resto where you can eat different selection of seafoods (crab, lobster, fish), chicken and veggies - all for the price of RM80 (P1,120). In the city, I only tried Krishna Curry House - i love Indian food kasi.

    I'd say, it's still worth a visit.

how about shopping? 1borneo lang ba yun magandang mall sa KK?

is this kota kinabalu same like phuket? or city sya? di ko kasi maintindihan yung difference nya from kuala lumpur....

  11. #51
from the looks of it, para siyang cebu. KL is metro manila.

  12. #52
ah so if thats the case, then it means kota kinabalu is a seperate island from kuala lumpur? so whats the sense of flying to kota if you still need to ride another plane going to kuala?

  13. #53
walang beach sa KL... just like walang beach sa bangkok kaya people go to phuket.

it's just like flying to manila then boracay or bangkok then phuket or jakarta to bali. but KK can be a standalone destination without needing to visit KL.

is english widely spoken in KK? how about chinese mandarin?

our main purpose was to climb mt. kinabalu ... and padas white water rafting
after nun punta ng Gerama to see yung Proboscis monkeys ... wetland yun so sasakay ng boat and meron ding fireflies viewing sa gabi
ok din puntahan yung tip of borneo ... for pictures pwede rin punta sa sepilok for the orangutans
gaya flea market is only on sundays nasa city naman sya ... dami dun fruits and local delights ... pero yung food nila is just like in singapore ... malay, indian and chinese fusion foods
di kami nagpunta ng beach mas maganda daw mga beach dito sa phils.
shopping ... IMO mas ok pa dito sa phils

kuala lumpur is the capital of malaysia. it is in west malaysia.
johor bahru is in west malaysia too. you can travel by land
    from johor bahru to singapore.

the states of sarawak and sabah are in east malaysia.
kota kinabalu is the the capital of sabah. there are local
flights from kk to kuching, which is the capital of sarawak.
from kuching you can travel by land to a province in indonesia, then a flight to jakarta.
there are also local flights from kk to miri city (still in east malaysia).
you can travel by land from miri city to brunei.

Yes, English is widely spoken in KK. Para lang syang Pinas, everyone can speak English kahit barok.

Re 1Borneo, it's a bit far from the city, but there's a free shuttle bus that you can take from city center. I didn't go there though.

^^para sa akin, nasa pilipinas pa rin ang magagandang beach.
KK is definitely not a place for shopping. in east malaysia, you'll
find the big malls in kuching. but then again i'd rather go shopping
    in manila.
