ANY COMMENTS (either good or bad) about sa mga profs/instructors ng institute of mathematics of up-diliman na nakasulat sa baba?

kasi aminin na natin o hindi, gusto nating malaman kung ano ang kanilang...

1. classroom policies
2. kung papaano sila gumawa ng long exams (at degree of difficulty)
3. kung magaling at maiintindihan ng estudyante ang mga tinuturo ni prof
4. masaya o malungkot ba ang reaksyon ng mga past students nya kapag papasok na si prof
at marami pang ibang tanong (or tsismis)

-para naman, hindi tayo mabigla sa pasukan
-may time pang lumipat ng section (sa mga nakapag-enlist na at hinihintay na lang ang regular refistration)
-sa mga nakikitsimis lang

(kasi minsan kapag naghahanap tayo ng impormasyon [sa ibang sites/forums] tungkol sa mga nakuha nating prof sa crs, wala tayong makita. baka kasi outdated na un, kaya kailangang i-update na ang mga impormasyon)

no bashing! please... ihanda na ang mga radar!

Dr. Agapito is every math major's dream...They dream na sana hindi nila maging teacher si Doc Aga. His exams are the hardest one (not joking), pero I've heard na kung teacher mo naman sya sa calculus, hindi naman daw ganong kahirap. Teaching wise, he is really a very good teacher...hindi mo nga iisipin na terror magpaexam eh

hINDI ko naman naging teacher si Sir Rovin, pero I tried sitting in one of his classes...masaya naman.

Hindi ko rin naging teacher si Ma'am Cherryl, pero I know her personally. Mabait naman siya in person, so siguro mabait rin siya in class

- REYES, NOLI

One of the best (if not the best) mathematician in the department. Answer his probsets, and you can answer his exams. Siguradong hindi ka aantukin sa class niya, kasi pag inantok ka...suicide yan. He has his tantrums at times, and believe me, you would not want to be at the center of the storm during those times. Pero in general, it is a great experience to Dr. Reyes' student.

DULAM-BANAWA, BETTY

She's a member of the powerpuff girls. As compared to the two others, I think Betty is the most strict, and the one who gives the hardest exams, pero I also think she is the best teacher of the three. She can explain those hard concepts so easily, that you'd think its just arithmetic. We had a conversation about God before, and the way she explains it para ka lang nakikinig ng fairy tale.

btw. the two othe members of the powerpuff girls, are Iris Orprecio and Leny Deita...both are also good (great) teachers.

i've heard a lot about this prof from at least two friends. namimigay daw to ng bonus points sa exams kapag super baba. at mabait, fun ang class, nagbibigay ng probsets for practice kaya magagrasp mo raw talaga yung concepts [sa math14 yung mga students nyang 'to]. ah basta mabait at kaenlist-enlist daw.

Uy prof ko 'to sa Math 54. I was a slacker in his class thats why I got the lowest grade in class in his first exam. Just before he returned the results of those who failed his second exam he tells the class "there are some people here who still insist in failing" and then he calls my name.

Btw I aced all his remaining exams in that sem. I also got the highest mark in the finals.

- Not the typical kind of prof na magtuturo lang and stuff. Nakakatuwa kasi parang ka-age niyo siya! Dati sa 53 (2nd sem), nakikipagkulitan pa kami! There was this one day na hindi na kami nakamove on sa next example sa integration kasi nag-uusap kaming lahat about astrology! Tapos super saya ng class niyo kapag may makulit kayong classmate na inookray si teacher! Hayyyy namimiss ko tuloy tong 53 class namin. Anyway, basta masaya ang class niyo! Madali pa siyang magpa-exam! Super bait pa

As far as I know, there are 4 santoses at Math.

Prof. Ernie Santos - one of the best professors that you would have. Grabe the best talaga. I got a 2.75 from him, pero I am so happy would have. Sayang lang talaga kasi retired na siya

Ma'am Santos - She was not my teacher before (since si Sir Santos ang teacher ko), pero exam wise, same exam lang **** sila ni sir, so I think hindi naman siya terror.

Rovin Santos - as what I've said earlier, hindi ko siya kilala, pero masaya naman yung class niya.

Chris Santos - ah, eto siguro ang terror sa mga Santos... hahahahahaha. Seriously, mabait si Chris.

Kilala ko si Margie! We graduated from the same high school. Ahead siya ng 1 year sa 'kin. Medyo masungit yun!!!

Sayang, wala na si Sir Hermosilla (Voltes V, anyone? ). Teacher ko yun sa Math 53 dati. Wala na sa list yung mga naging teacher ko sa Math 17 at 50 series except kay may Ma'am Chona Tandang. Mabait yun kaso sa pagtuturo, medyo boring para sa 'kin...

Ang mga naging prof ko lang eh si

CONSORTE, ODESSA [Math 17]

Mabait si Ma'am Odessa. At fair magbigay ng exam questions. Fair din magbigay ng Partial Points. Yun nga lang ang problema niya. Masyado siyang fair. Pero walang bumagsak sa class namin. Nakakuha pa ako ng 1.25 sa kanya. Di ko ineexpect.

OCAMPO, ALDRIN [Math 53] [di ko kaklase si hanzo. nasa other class siya]

Tulad ng sinabi ni hanzo, nakakaaliw si Teacher Aldrin. Meron pa siyang Youtube videos. Subscriber pa nga niya ako. Natatawa ako kapag sinasabi niya samin na meron daw dapat na sacrificial lamb na magbabagsak ng exam niya at magbabagsak ng Math 53 sa klase niya. Pero ang alam ko, ginawa niyang 4.00 ang mga 5.00 sa 2 klase niya last sem. Antaas pa rin ng grade ko kahit nabagsak ko ang Finals. 1.75
