    Scope of work
    a. Soil Poisoning
    b. Spraying or drenching of ceilings, baseboards, doorjambs and all other wooden areas
    c. Drilling or injection of double walls (if any), doorjambs, and stairways.

    d. Quarterly Inspection and / or Treatment as necessary
    e. Mound demolition (if any) and retrieval of king/queen termites using appropriate liquid termiticides to create barriers for future infestation

Infested na yung wood siguro when it was installed. You killed off the colony within.

this is called Reticulation. it should be design not only along the perimeter but also in grid under the house and around the foundations.

reticulation should be designed and installed during construction.

if you want your garden to be productive, soil poisoning is not the way.

the prior may help with your querry. but you have to do annual soil poisoning.

i heard that there is a company which uses traps with poison. it relies on the poison being delivered by the colony to the queen. it less toxic.

anyone know about this method? and can it be done D.I.Y.?

Yup.... I had a company do a demo here in my house - I just found it too expensive and went for the regular treatment instead.

They call the method "baiting" ...... they bait the termites with traps (looks like a small plastic canister) planted inside and outside the house.

The nice thing is, the termite poison itself is non-toxic to people ..... it's even edible.

The poison covers the different kinds of termites and last for a couple of months.

This kind of treatment looks good. The only downside was the price.

IIRC it was around 25k+ ...... for 8 bait traps - 4-inside the house & 4-outside the house.

Can't recall if first poison refills are covered by the cost.

At first, the company we'd gone with 5 years ago before construction was impressive. They really know their stuff.

We're signing up with a new (less busy) company now, and have requested some details added into the contract. When these guys merely inspect their monitors, they can miss the boat. No big deal, but don't assume that they'd promptly return for fixes just because you're a good customer for services that don't come cheaply.

Hi, I also had a huge termite infestation last month. my bathroom had a leaky pipe, all my baseboards and even the laminated flooring was full of termites. I bought some Timbor from a local ad, It was priced at P495/1.5lb and P900/3lb. It was easy to dissolve in water. It was effective for the baseboards, but didn't quite penetrate the thick cabinet wood and laminated flooring.

I consulted with the guy and he offered me locally-made Boracare, It was branded Termisin. It was sold for P350 for a 1-liter kit, basically, it was 500ml concentrate in a 1-liter bottle, you just add another 500ml of warm water and mix it together. apply with brush or spray. after a month, i had my house reinspected and all the termited were gone!!! Try calling him up if he still sells the stuff. Zen - 0917-5345785

I had all my houses applied, it was A LOT cheaper, a Pest control company offered me P95k for the termite removal, it only cost me P15k with Termisin and i didn't have to leave my house after the application!

    Hi SgtBilko,

Ok yan ah. Ang mura at non-toxic pa.

When you sprayed or brushed the Termissin, did it also penetrate the painted surfaces? Or did you remove the paint first to expose the wood?

    Cheers,
    Neo

If you don't want to remove varnish or wood stain, use a syringe and inject borax solution into the wood or drill small holes, then inject with borax solutions. Stagger drilling like a diamond shape, 2cm equidistant apart and continue on drilling until end of the wood. Drill about 2cm deep.
Does this mean that for painted wood, the paint should be removed first before applying Boracare/Borax?

If the infested portion is a cabinet door (e.g., 3/4-inch plywood or plyboard), will removing the paint on the back part and then brushing or spraying that with Boracare/Borax be enough?

Had termite infestation in my kitchen cabinets under the sink and 1 set of hanging cabinets. Tried to DIY using Termisin/Boracare. But the are only effective in bare wood before painting and construction/installation.

I hired a professional pest control service and my house was treated. Unfortunately, there's a very big open space at the back of my house (village perimeter) where cows grazed. There's a termite mound near the back of my house, and 2 termite mounds sa likod ng neighbor ko.

Lokong termite king yun, muslim yata at parang may harem. Madaming asawa.

The pest control service was looking for the "bao" kasi mukang syang bao ng niyog.

    Nilagay ko sa bote.

Then they proceeded to treat my house and surrounding soil.

They also put baits in all the pipe conduits, panel board, and the infected areas. They also sprayed all the nooks and corners of the house. The they fumigate it so that we could rid of all the other insects, specially German cockroach.

What I like about them is the quarterly monitoring and maintenance for 2 years. In other pest control service, this costs php700 per visit. Babalik sila after 14 days to inspect. Kelangan nilang bumalik dahil ang balanse sa contract price ay payable in 1 year during the first year's quarterly visits.

The queens are aged 7 years each because of the 7 segments in their bodies.
