Those were already explained to me before and I've been doing research online about it.
Usually 2 days is enough to stay in the hospital.
First week of the post op would be the most tough part and from there everyday will be just going peachy!

Yeah I was there before and I was being checked by Dr. Lagos and Dr. Ungsiako. Dr. Nichollof told he will donate 1 plate for me.
Right now I'm abroad so I cannot go to Makati Med personally.

So how much does your surgery cost? I'm pretty interested to have this surgery but the risks and the costs always stop me from pursuing this.

    You should go for it.
    It's priceless tbh!

I'm interested of undergoing jaw surgery to correct by bite. Do you know any surgeons from cebu?

How about OMF Surgeon Dr. Carlos Buendia? ok ba siya?

I wore splint for 1.5 years, braces for 2 years, and right now I have full mouth porcelain veneers pero I'm not satisfied yet. Underbite pa din ako pero not as noticeable as before kasi nadaya ng veneers. I have a good smile pero whenever I talk nahahalata yung jaw problem ko kasi deviated ang jaw ko and ang haba pa din talaga ng chin ko.

I'm planning to have Orthognathic surgery next year, if i will go through with this, magsusuot pa ba ulit ako ng brace? tatanggalin ba ng ortho and OMF yung porcelain veneers ko?

@xyglam sana nagpaOrthognathic surgery ka na lang instead of having Porcelain veneers, or perhaps have the veneers done after your surgery. Porcelain veneers are not indestructible. Pwede namang kabitan ng braces ang veneers, and problema lang ay kung iba na ang orientation nung veneer sa orientation ng ipin ( kasi kung minsan tabingi yung ipin tapos gagawing magmukhang tuwid using veneers ... ang problema ay ang susundin ay yung orientation ng ipin, not the veneer).

Yes you will need braces first then orthognathic surgery. You will be treated by 2 or 3 specialists. Hindi ito ginagawa ng isang specialist lang.

Dinaya lang talaga ang teeth ko, I'm an underbite but because of my veneers, nag-mukhang maayos ang bite ko but the truth it's not.

Also, please send me a PM for referrals. Magpapa-consult ako next week.

What's the minimum cost for Orthognathic Surgery? Any recommendations for the doctors/specialists? And what's the recovery period for this kind of procedure? Thank you.

  15. #35
^ For both the upper and lower jaws it's around P500,000 or more if done in a private hospital. There's a separate fee for braces and another separate fee for the surgical splint, plus other expenses. Please search for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (they'll perform the Orthognathic surgery part) and Orthodontists (they'll perform the braces part). Recovery is around 1 month or longer (bone healing takes 3 to 6 months to complete).

hi, i also have underbite and i want this surgery. how many months ako magb-braces before the surgery? nasa ibang bansa kasi ako. i work here. is it possible na ang braces na ilagay sa akin yung i think once a year lang magdental visit? i forgot the term. kasi sayang din naman yung months na maghintay ng surgery if mag stop ako ng work? or kelangan talaga ng monthly visits? thank you.

  17. #37
^ Hindi pwede andrea27. For your sake it is better to have the braces and the orthognathic surgery at the country where you presently reside.

  18. #38
I'm wearing braces right now but I guess di pa din nya macocorrect or maachieve yung gusto kong result. Can someone please pm me a list of doctors and price range na din. thanks.

  19. #39
For upper and lower jaw Orthognathic surgery expect to spend P500,000 or more.

Please let me know if you have a list of good doctors. And pros and cons na din. Thanks.
