You can buy it on National Book Store and Powerbooks.

Hope that you will read it before judging her first. When I read her books medyo nagbago ang pananaw ko tungkol sa Philippine politics. Watch out for for her new book to be launched soon!

If this thread existed 1o years ago, this would be a PRO-Miriam thread.
Miriam only got to the ire of everybody here because of her open support to the ILLs of Erap.
Aminin niyo na rin na naging idolo niyo siya one time but ngayon it changed kasi of what happened.

She was never my idol, and I lost any shred of respect for her when, upon leaving her post as Immigration Head, I saw her on TV saying, "I would rather be remembered not for my service to government but for my beautiful legs..."

    Ugghhhh....

Nice shot there, Aticus. But you see, when you are in an elegant place, try not to utilize all your time looking for small cracks on the walls. You ought at least to see, if not appreciate, the elegance of the place too.

My friend, many things I would use to describe Miriam, but "elegant" is not one of them.

You know, this debate will continue almost ad infinitum, because there will always be Miriam apologists, who believe that everything she's done is practically saintly (like her "graduating" from Oxford and Harvard), as well as Miriam doubters, who feel her penchant for self-aggrandizement and blustering soliloquys are misguided, at best, and downright dangerous, at worst.

I'm a Miriam doubter through and through, and not just because she has a penchant for shooting her mouth off (remember "I lied?"). I just think that someone with the responsibility of representing her nation (as she had when she was, unfortunately, Senator) should not then misrepresent even basic stuff about her like her "credentials" from Harvard. Heck, I've attended conferences by Harvard and Stanford, but that sure doesn't make me an alumnus, unless I go by Miriam's book.

Plus I was a neighbor of hers while they were still living in Teacher's Village, Q.C. (I have since moved, and by all accounts, she is building a wonderful new place in La Vista so she'll move too...) and the stories I could tell...

    Sigh.

In any case, I won't be sucked into a "pro" versus "anti" Miriam debate, because I'm so strongly "anti" Miriam that I doubt anything could either convince me or count on me being anything but skeptical about this woman. I'm just extremely happy she is no longer a Senator.

    Have a good day, folks.

Miriam aka Brenda doesn't have a single ounce of credibility in her body, not even in her supposedly beautiful legs (di lang balimbing at oportunista, makapal pa ang mukha. Mas maganda pa ang legs ni Whitney Tyson a!). And there are telltale signs of a psychological imbalance in her. She's a big time liar, so why should I buy any of her books and believe what's in them? She also has penchant for mouthing words that you don't expect to come from an educated and intelligent human being like her. It was really a blessing in disguise that she lost to FVR in the 1992 presidential election. Imagine having her as our president! If FVR really cheated her in that election, then I owe FVR tons of gratitude. People who believe in Miriam Defensor Santiago only do so because they have the same personality profile as she does. As the saying goes, lunatics, err, birds, of the same feather flock together. Well?

Miriam vows to block moves to drag Mike Arroyo anew into WB road mess

    04/13/2009 | 10:14 PM

MANILA, Philippines - Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago on Monday vowed to prevent the Senate from once again dragging First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo into the alleged irregularities in the bidding for World Bank-funded projects.

Santiago said she would go to the Supreme Court if necessary and file a petition for prohibition with a prayer for temporary restraining order if her colleagues would insist on “trying" Mr Arroyo on the allegations stated in the report of the World Bank.

Hope she runs as VP on 2010. I like the way how she handles her position.

I will not be voting this time pero I hope she wins.
