Do you even watch Amazing Race? Alam mo ba kung gaano kahirap at kagastos nun?

Alam mo rin ba kung gaano kayaman ang ABS-CBN? joke lang. I'm just hoping ABS-CBN could get the franchise para itapat sa Survivor. Bitter lang ako kasi I watch both shows before... tapos nakuha pa ng GMA yung isa... hehehe... Para lang fair. I'm sure ABS-CBN can pull off a show like TAR... Do you know how much ang nagagastos ng ABS-CBN sa Primetime series nila? Lalo na kapag si Judy Ann and Claudine ang lead roles? Milyon kagad, talent fee pa lang. Eh in reality series, wala naman talent fee ang racers. They can start locally first (for season 1) para makabawi sa expenses then go abroad (seasons after). Like what they did in TAR Asia, hinay-hinay lang in season 1. In the long-run, makakabawi rin sa gastos. For me ah, kaya nga The Amazing Race PHILIPPINES, kasi Philippines yung destination. Let's all be optimistic. They were able to bring here PBB (nagtayo pa sila ng bahay)... I think they can also bring TAR here.

In my honest opinion, a Filipino franchise of this Emmy award-winning reality show would be a great opportunity for our country to showcase interesting places in the country and boost the country's tourism so to speak. I agree that The Amazing Race is a huge production but it is worth endeavoring since some countries like Israel, China, and Brazil have done it. I am a huge fan of this reality show and I am looking forward to 'The Amazing Race Philippines' as titled. I am optimistic that while Philippines has successfully made its versions of Survivor and Big Brother, it can pretty much do it better for The Amazing Race. Maybe the Department of Tourism can work hand-in-hand with this just like what China did. =)

Nabasa namin ang tweet ni Jun Lalin na ang TV5 ang nakakuha ng franchise rights ng Amazing Race Pinoy Edition at nai-announce ito sa harap ng mga advertisers.

Siguradong maraming sasali sa reality show na nagdadala sa mga contestants sa iba’t ibang lugar.

Sino kaya ang magho-host ng Amazing Race dahil parang busy si Paolo Bediones sa rami ng hawak na shows sa TV5 at siya rin ang host ng Extreme Make Over Home Edition plus executive rin siya ng network?

Kinumusta ko si Perci kung ano ang latest news sa Kapatid Network.

“Pinag-uusapan ‘yung isinulat mo na nasa TV5 na ang Pinoy edition ng Amazing Race. Quiet lang ako, wala pa akong puwedeng sabihin,” sey ni Perci, na walang denial o corrrection tungkol sa isinulat ko, kaya nanga*ngahulugan na confirmed ang balitang ‘yon na ga*ling sa marketing/sales department nila.

Pagkatapos mabasa ang isinulat ko na Pinoy edition ng Amazing Race ay marami na ang nag-i-inquire sa kanila.

Isang TV5-insider ang nagbuking sa akin na may TV hosts na raw ang nagpaparamdam na type nilang sila ang humawak sa show na ‘yon.

NO!

Sorry pero TAR is not a cheap show. Philippine TV is very cheap.
Unless TV5 really put lots of money into this, this will be a flop!
But if TV5 do put money into this they might not get their money back as TV5 has a smaller audience.

Sorry pero I don't want a Philippine Edition of TAR.
No Philippine Network can give justice to the franchise.

Well, I think the Philippines can do okay. Like starczamora pointed out, it'll most likely be similar to China Rush where they stayed in China since meron naman TAR Asia eh.

And TV5 would probably infuse more money into this than either ABS or GMA would. They're going to take a gamble and they'll definitely put in all the effort. If GMA can do okay with Survivor and ABS can do reasonably okay with Fear Factor, I think TV5 can do okay with TARPh

Before, I too thought TARPh would not work, but after China Rush, I realized a local, within-country version of the Race would be okay.
