If not for my credit card inquiry I would not have discovered this thread. Will backtrack all the posts, baka nandito na ikakayaman ko. LOL.

On serious note, I am very keen to learn about how to invest (terms like bonds, mutual funds, stock market, stocks, dividends, etc, naririnig ko lang pero I don't really know what they exactly mean.)

Is there a short-term course offered by some school, or a seminar that I can take somewhere regarding this?

With a compounding interest with an average rate of 20% per annum, if you save up at least 2,500 pesos per month, you can be assured of a million pesos IN about 10-11 YEARS.

5.5% net return per annum is NOTHING. It would ONLY beat the INFLATION rate in the market.

Tas subject pa yun sa 20% withholding tax. You should find a different avenue to invest your money.

Remember, rich people DO NOT accept anything that's just the average of inflation. They accept returns that's WAY BEYOND the current inflation rate.

Check google for the current inflation rate in the PI market. Last time I checked it was an average of 5%.

About 2-3 years ago, annual inflation rate in the PI market rocketed to 9%. Try to calculate that with the current interest that your money iwas accumulating.

If 2-34 years ago, your money yielded you less than 9% mark-up, then you didn't make the most out of your money and as a matter of fact, you LOST money because technically, your money cannot afford the SAME things it could afford before the 9% inflation.

THING IS... at the end of it all, IKAW pa rin ang magdedesisyon kung saan mo ilalagay ang pera mo.

I had a couple of stocks in a multinational oil company and within a year, it gained about 50% of its original stock price. I sold it and earned an extra cash.

Ganun kasimple. It's better that you keep yourself inforrmed than to be ignorant of things that would involve your money.

    Good luck!

Lahat halos may papanigan pero its best pa din if you do your own analysis and make your own decision...

Make a trade system and follow it...

10 years after my first work, doon ko na realize yung 1 million pesos earned. Ang hirap magipon pag empleyado.

After reading all the posts in these thread, I just realized how lost I am with my financial management. I'm past my 30's and is not getting any yonger and I still don't have my own house!

I'll keep on back reading to learn more. I also plan to start my own thread stating my current financial status (income and expenses). This way, I can track my own progress (I wish) and seek advise from you guys.

With high sense of regret, I still don't have my 1st million pesos after 10 years of working

I disagree.
