Hi! I passed BSA and I need more details about it. What's the grading system in DLSU and also specifically for BSA? Also, are there weekend classes and lots of requirement? Thanks!
You need to have at least a grade of 83% on all accounting and law subjects. That's roughly equivalent to 2.0

Regarding the schedule of classes, there will be some changes as RCU is still on-going. And the requirements, lots of 'em. Really, really lots of 'em =))

Is the 83% grade requirement for the exams or for the final grade per sem? What types of requirements are usually given?

The grade requirement is for the final grade per term. So you need to have a grade of at least 83% for ALL the quizzes AND exams =)

For the basic accounting, you will be given an accounting workbook. There you will be given countless accounting exercises. They will be assigned every meeting and due of the next. So rest assure na may assignment ka na talaga na FIX every week. Aside pa yan sa ibang subjects mo. Minsan sobrang haba pa yan. Like one whole unit

Hi! DLSU's BSA Program is indeed one of the most difficult programs ever! Haha. If you are a BSA Major, you will need to get 2.0 or 83 in all Accounting, Finance and Law Subjects. Not necessarily 83 in all outputs but it will greatly help. Mostly, you'll have 6 quizzes for each basic accounting subject, three lang naman yon. Then you'll have a qualifying exam for your modulars. If you didn't meet the grade requirement, you are given another and your last chance to retake the subject.

    Good luck with you!

Hey Lemz, try posting your query sa Pinoy Accountancy forum.

@Allyson, I never had accounting in highschool. I passed first take. Don't worry just yet as it is not necessary. Pag nagstart ka na, at especially when you're taking financial accounting, then start worrying

Hi! @allysonang: i also never had any accounting subject when I was in HS and yet I was able to survive and follow the flowchart. Do not worry that much. Have a clean slate when you start with the program.

Wag kayong matakot guys! Wala pa nga kayo natatakot na kayo kagad.

You'll take the quali once you are done with your basic accounting subjects. BSAs usually take it on their 3rd term while AE BSAs on their 4th term, assuming they do not retake any basic accounting subject.

As far everything is concerned, it is better if you would take more credible professors that would thoroughly prepare you for the qualifying exams. A sure shot of professors would be Menaje, Velasco, and Manalo.

In case you really cannot have them as professors, or you don't want to, I suggest that you borrow the materials, more specifically the test papers, of your peers who took the BIG 3. Through this, you may have more avenue for practicing and mastering your accounting skills

    Question Mod1 :)

Hi fellow BSA majors! Welcome also to the ID112 BSA froshies! I know that most of you have heard a lot of things about the BSA program... pero don't be afraid. Just trust yourself, focus, listen attentively to your bas1 prof, study, and pray! BSA is no laughing matter and it's really not a so-so course. For now, you are taking basic accounting subjects. It doesn't mean na because it's just the basic, that it should be taken for granted. Your basic accounting subjects are crucial because here, you will gain foundation for your higher accounting subjects. (And you will also need it for the quali! ) So make sure that you build strong foundation!

Anyway.. so much for that, I would want to consult my case. I'm currently taking MOD1 (ID111), and my blockmates and I are quite anxious about grades. On the average, what should be the grade in the quizzes to make it a bit safe for us to pass a submodule? Thank you!
