I don't think LeBron will get 5 rings but I thik he'll surpass Kobe when it comes to individual accolades.

Alaska survived a late-game rally by Ginebra to win 104-90, leading the series at 2-0 and now one win away from the title.

The debates are up again. LeBron just capped a wonderful season by snagging the MVPs for the regular season and the Finals...he's in some exclusive company and Kobe's outside the door looking in.
Lebron is clearly the better player today. Kobe, has the better career so far. James has the chance to catch up on Kobe but I don't think he'll get more than 3 championships. After winning another 1 or 2 I haven't seen yet if he will have the drive to win more.
Kobe's personality of wanting to one-up everyone went well for most of his career. He has 5 championships to attest that.
honestly, there should still be no debate. kobe will continue to be the greater player unless lebron wins at least 3 rings, and that's at the very least, 2 more seasons away
on the other side, lebron has been the better player for quite some time now, that's no longer close.
those two things are not really open for debate.
lebron 2 more seasons away to win 3 rings if he failed, he still got 5+ seasons more to try
kobe 2 more decent seasons to play
that's the difference. kobe's career is still better... FOR NOW.
lebron all the way....i mean if we're talkin about stats,,,lebron is the FREAKIN NATURE.
Freakin Nature?

LeBron sent a bunch of scrubs to the NBA FINALS
While....
Kobe will send the highest paid group of future HALL OF FAMERS to the NBA LOTTERY![]()
Why is this thread still alive? It's been what, five years since I started this?![]()
Actually both positions can be played interchangeably. They are what we call the wingmen or swingmen
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swingman
A Swingman (also known as a Wing) is a basketball term denoting a player who can play both the small forward (the so-called "3") and shooting guard (the so-called "2") positions, and, in essence, swing between the shooting guard and small forward positions
So yeah you can compare a SG to a SF.
Given the situation that natrade si Kobe at Lebron before the season. Do you think Lakers with Lebron will go 17-23?
A lot of "lebron can beat kobe" fans are surely rejoicing now.
I for instance, even when lebron was in cleveland, i always thought he was the better between the two, kobe was just more successful back then because of the rings and the fact that he had great teammates. Unlike now, we saw what lebron really can do if he have great teammates as well.
No! the difference between kobe and lebron is that lebron can make his teamates better, as the case we saw when he was in cleveland. He only had mo williams and ilgauskas back then but they were still making it to the play-offs, what more if he has gasol, and howard, (nash wont be needed since lebron is also a good playmaker, nash would just be relegated into a spot up shooter e.g. kerr)
