Gian,

for the sporty folks (or feeling sporty), check out the Smith optics at Rox, Boni High. You can find good pair of shades for around 3K.
Im surprised that its relatively cheaper there compared sa US.. well, basis ko lang are the websites and how they price Oakleys and Rudy projects here. Laking patong talaga ng Oakleys dito, yung mga $70 sa US are being sold at around 5K here, grabe!! Sino ba distributor ng Oakleys dito?
^at 5k, not bad... at least oakley na yan. i'd rather spend extra thousand for quality. but come to think of it, anong klaseng oakley sunglass kaya ang $70 lang? maybe one of those "fives'' which is not polarized.
yup, around $70 ang "basic fives" sa site, that's around 3000 when converted to peso yet those same set are being sold at 5K here. The minute 2.0 starts at $105 (mga 4500 pesos) yet it is being sold here at around 8K... so ang laki ng difference kahit anong model di ba?
Im not questioning the quality really. But just like camisaroja said overthing is overpriced here in Manila hehehe. Kaya nagulat din ako sa Smith, kasi when you look at their site, sunglasses are around the $120+ range yet they sell it here at almost the same rate (mga 4K pesos), yung iba nga cheaper pa. For those who dont know Smith optics, check out sports forums like cycling, running, snowboarding, etc and you'll see that they have the same following as oakleys, and rudy projects. Some even say that they have better quality than the two (of course this is a matter of opinion).
Hindi ako taga Smith ha.. hahahaha.. Im just providing options kasi nga relatively mahal ang Oakley at Rudy project dito.
Mahal ang mga salamin sa PI. Ang taas ng Mark up!
Exactly, camisaroja!
I remember seeing Miu Miu sunglasses circa spring 2006 back in summer 2007 at 50-60% off abroad and I saw them as "NEW ARRIVALS" at Sabater Pascual and I think they're still not discounted 'til now. hahaa
Do retailers know what fashion is about? It's all about seasons and expiration dates?
Here everything that's branded seems to try and make itself a classic when it's vulgarly trendy. Ughhhhh
Some things have to change. haha

The only thing I wouldn't think twice having here in Manila is a good haircut at some upscale salon!!!! hahaaaaaaaa
For designer goods, never buy here! hahaaaaaaaa
www.giancinephile.noosblog.fr
That's a big misconcenption.
And retailers here in the PI are one of the most unfair and dumbest.
Just look at how many optical shops here sell eyewear that's like circa 4-10 seasons ago at full price!!!! hahaaaaa
www.giancinephile.noosblog.fr
They even sell those dusty and very out of style specs for full price!
Talk about being ripped off. But still, Tom Fords are more expensive at Sacks Fifth Ave compared to Sarabia.![]()
Haha Sarabia changes their posters season per season. So they're updated
but does the merchandise change as well??
For one reason, designer eyewear here don't sell like pancakes. haha

Im not sure about the merchandise. More often than not, they only have one of each styles. I was looking for them YSL ones I like but they don't seem to have it.
SSI reintroduced YSL but it's definitely just for women.
(As expected in true SSi fashion)
It's available at the multi-brand store inside Rustan's Makati (the former Prada space). Along with YSL are labels like Sergio Rossi, Hogan, and Bottega Veneta.
I'm not expecting competitive pricing. I'm expecting overpricing. LOL!
www.giancinephile.noosblog.fr
I did not notice the muti-brand space in Rustans. Is that near Zegna and Fendi?
Well Marc by Marc Jacobs is overpriced! I think they're selling this $35 polo shirt fro PHP4k+!
Overpriced it is! hahaa
Well I doubt SSi will go to competitive pricing because they are greedy!!! GREEDY! GREEDY!
So, I am less enthusiastic about the labels they bring in no matter how much I like some of the labels they carry. haha
It's near the Shu Uemura counter and adjacent to Dunhill.
www.giancinephile.noosblog.fr
Oh I don't pass by that side because I am avoiding Burberry. I don't wanna be drooling in Rustans.
SSI is indeed greedy!
Im just waiting for the M by MJ sale so I can atleast get it at a less overpriced price. xD
Buying sale at rustan's or SSi means buying the goods at regular price elsewhere! hahaaaaaa
I don't fancy Burberry here because they don't have Burberry Prorsum. Pretty Pathetic. Can't get to enjoy Christopher Bailey's wonderful collections! Not even a piece of the action and the beauty and the whole lot. haha
www.giancinephile.noosblog.fr
It seems like we've done so much in bashing SSi.
I love it!
I will never cease to do so. haha
www.giancinephile.noosblog.fr
We should bash SSI and their bad business practices.
I like Prorsum too specially the colorfull trenches Cristopher's making.
But I am still lusting for this Brit check messenger bag. Bloody Hell!
haha I'm over logomania.
As for Burberry, I'd go for options other than their checks. haha
And SSi does a lot of bad business practices. I'm thinking due to their mishandling of brands, some brands must take back the license to distribute or represent their label here in the third world bec. they end up misrepresented.
I keep on lustin for Burberry Prorsum but I doubt it will be made available here all thanks to SSi, everything is unreachable and unavailable.
